Spoiled By My Ex-Fiance's Uncle
Chapter 458 Mu Shaoci & Shen Lu 3

Chapter 458: Chapter 458 Mu Shaoci & Shen Lu 3

Mu Shaoci’s paint-black pupils reflected the woman lunging toward him, looking like a gigantic octopus clamoring over.

Had his legs been more cooperative, he would have definitely kicked her away.

Now he felt utterly like a helpless lamb, witnessing his own slaughter with wide-open eyes.

Plop!

Shen Lu knocked him to the ground.

Looking at the man fallen, his face a mix of gloom and anger, her mouth twitched uncontrollably.

Good heavens, what kind of sin had she committed?

"President Mu, I—I didn’t mean it! I’ll help you up right away."

Mu Shaoci closed his eyes, "You let Su Chen come here right now, immediately."

Shen Lu pushed up her glasses, "President Mu, Assistant Su is bedridden and can’t move."

Mu Shaoci gave her a glare, "Thanks to you, I’m also now going to be bedridden and unable to move."

Shen Lu’s face was filled with guilt, "I’m really sorry, President Mu. I’ll be more careful in the future."

At last, two male doctors were summoned by Shen Lu before they were able to help Mu Shaoci onto the bed.

She opened the thermal container, and seeing that the congee inside was still intact, she breathed a sigh of relief.

She scooped out a bowl and, taking a small spoon, sat in the chair beside him, "President Mu, let me feed you the congee."

"Is it not poisoned?"

Shen Lu knew Mu Shaoci was still very angry with her, she gave an awkward smile, "Of course not, President Mu. I admit I’ve caused you a lot of trouble before, but I assure you there’s nothing wrong with this congee."

Mu Shaoci didn’t say anything more; his waist had reverted to its condition from last night, nearly incapacitating him.

Shen Lu saw that the man wasn’t refusing anymore, so she scooped up a spoonful, blew on it, and brought it to his mouth, "Don’t worry, President Mu, I don’t have Helicobacter pylori."

That remark instantly made the congee in Mu Shaoci’s mouth less appetizing.

"Shen Lu."

"Here."

"If you can’t speak properly, then don’t speak."

Knowing she was undesirable company, Shen Lu kept silent. She noticed that Mu Shaoci really enjoyed the congee, finishing all that she had brought.

As she reached for a tissue to wipe his mouth, Mu Shaoci took it and did it himself, "Don’t think the congee you made is that delicious; I’m just hungry, that’s all."

Shen Lu responded with an "Oh," "President Mu, is there anything you’d like for lunch? I can start preparing it now."

Mu Shaoci glanced at her indifferently, "Nothing spicy. As for what to make, that’s up to you."

Shen Lu nodded, "Alright, President Mu. I’ll notify the secretarial department to send up your documents later."

Mu Shaoci thought for a moment, "I’ll notify them myself."

Shen Lu understood that Mu Shaoci didn’t trust her.

It made sense since she’d been flustered all day, not exactly inspiring confidence.

She left the sickroom, feeling like she could finally breathe.

That Mu Shaoci didn’t dismiss her was somewhat surprising to her.

She figured it might be because he was quite satisfied with her cooking skills. It seemed if she could keep his stomach happy for the next few days, her job would be secure.

Meanwhile, Mu Shaoci lay on the hospital bed, pressing the center of his forehead with a hand.

He felt particularly miserable these days.

This Shen Lu was a pure nuisance to him. If it weren’t for the fact that her Sobering-up Soup, noodles, and congee were tasty, he would have certainly dismissed her at once.

He had never had someone so bafflingly clumsy around him before.

He sighed, called the secretarial department, and asked them to send someone with his documents.

Even though he was in the hospital, his work couldn’t be delayed.

When Shen Lu arrived, it was already noon, "President Mu, I’ve made dumplings for you."

Mu Shaoci had never liked dumplings since he was young, so upon hearing the word ’dumplings’, he subconsciously felt some irritation and resistance.

Shen Lu didn’t see the man’s disgusted expression and was still introducing the filling of the dumplings.

When she finished, she just happened to feed a small dumpling to the man’s mouth, "You should try this."

Mu Shaoci was about to say he didn’t want to eat when a dumpling was put into his mouth.

His eyebrows knitted together, but the next moment, he found the dumpling unexpectedly delicious.

Seeing the man enjoying the food, Shen Lu kept feeding him one after another.

"President Mu, do you really like them?"

"Where did you buy these?"

"I made them myself."

Mu Shaoci sipped the shrimp skin and seaweed soup, looking at her with some suspicion, "What else can you make?"

"I’m quite good at a lot of dishes. President Mu, if there’s anything you’d like to eat, just let me know, and if I can make it, I’ll make it for you."

The anger Mu Shaoci had towards her didn’t seem as intense as before.

After cleaning the insulated food container, Shen Lu sat down on a chair, "President Mu, just give me a shout if you need anything."

Mu Shaoci looked at her, not a very clever appearance, "You sit over there, I need to review some documents."

Shen Lu nodded, she had only joined the company a few days ago and truly wasn’t familiar with some of the operations.

Su Chen had really thrown her into the deep end.

Now that Mu Shaoci wasn’t asking her to do anything else, she felt somewhat relieved.

She would prefer to keep her distance from Mu Shaoci, after all, she had noticed that whenever she was close to him, something was bound to go wrong.

Maybe their zodiac signs clashed.

She sat down on a chair against the wall and soon fell asleep.

Mu Shaoci was drawn in by the soft sound of her snoring, looking at Shen Lu with her head back, mouth slightly open, barely stopping short of drooling out the corner of her mouth.

He frowned slightly, what kind of man with no taste would be interested in such a sloppy woman?

He shook his head and continued to go through the documents.

A knock on the hospital room door woke Shen Lu, and she stood up quickly; it was the owner of the car from last night’s accident.

Zhou Jiaqi entered with a bouquet of lilies, "I heard from a friend you were hospitalized, so I came to see you."

Mu Shaoci replied indifferently, "Thank you, it’s nothing serious."

Zhou Jiaqi glanced at Shen Lu. President Mu’s personal assistant had always been a man; she didn’t expect it to be a woman now.

"Assistant Su isn’t here?"

Shen Lu replied, "Assistant Su is unwell and has taken sick leave."

"I see." Zhou Jiaqi sat down on the chair beside the bed and placed the bouquet on the table, "Brother Shaoci, let me bring you food, I’m not busy at home anyway."

Mu Shaoci declined directly, "No need, Assistant Shen can cook."

Knowing Mu Shaoci’s decisive nature, Zhou Jiaqi didn’t say more and left after a short while.

Shen Lu stood to one side in a daze for quite a long while, was she Assistant Shen now?

Mu Shaoci watched her dazed expression, "What are you thinking about?"

Shen Lu blinked, "I was thinking about what you just said, am I, Assistant Shen?"

Mu Shaoci hummed affirmatively, "I think you won’t make any other achievements at work, so from now on, just be my personal assistant."

"Personal assistant?"

Mu Shaoci closed the file in his hand, "It means being my personal life assistant, responsible for my daily life, mainly my diet."

Shen Lu asked quietly, "And the salary?"

Mu Shaoci snorted softly, "The same as Su Chen."

Shen Lu was extremely excited, if she hadn’t been in front of Mu Shaoci, she surely would have jumped three feet high.

Mu Shaoci scoffed, "However, you’ll lose a thousand yuan for every mistake you make."

Shen Lu: "..."
