Chapter 407: Ask My Younger Uncle If He Agrees
Chapter 407: Chapter 407: Ask My Younger Uncle If He Agrees
Fu Shiyan turned his head slightly and captured An Yan’s lips in a gentle, probing kiss before deepening it.
Suddenly, their lips parted.
An Yan opened her somewhat dazed eyes. "What’s wrong?"
"I see your lips saying no, but your body tells the truth all too well."
For a moment, An Yan wanted to sew his mouth shut.
She huffed.
Fu Shiyan chuckled softly, "I’ll stop teasing you now and tell you what I’m thinking about."
This comment caught An Yan off guard, as this scheming man always seemed to have ulterior motives that led to the bedroom.
"So what are you thinking about?"
Fu Shiyan’s nose gently nuzzled hers. "A nice place."
"What nice place?"
"You’ll see soon," Fu Shiyan glanced at his watch. "They’ll be here shortly."
"Who?"
"The sworn enemies."
"..."
Fu Shiyan helped An Yan into casual wear, sneakers, and draped a trench coat over her shoulders, topping it off with a duckbill cap.
"You look great."
An Yan smiled, "Thanks for the compliment."
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Fu Shiyan straightened her collar and they went to open the door.
Mu Shaoze stood with hands in his pockets, looking gloomy, "You two go out to have fun while I stay here watching the baby for you, tsk!"
"Fourth Brother, thank you," Fu Shiyan patted his shoulder. "I’ll bring back some of Zhou Ji’s pastries for you, I remember your wife likes them."
Mu Shaoze’s expression softened slightly. "Make it quick; my wife is craving them."
Fu Shiyan nodded slightly, holding An Yan by the waist as they left. "No problem."
Once inside the elevator, An Yan chuckled, covering her mouth. "That comment really worked."
"Calling him ’Fourth Brother’?"
"No, the one about ’Fourth Sister-in-law.’"
Fu Shiyan: "..."
Linshi had a particularly lively alley that glowed with lights at night, filled with the atmosphere of fireworks, akin to Banqiao Town.
They parked not far from the alley.
At this time, finding a parking spot would normally be impossible, but just as a car left, Fu Shiyan quickly parked the car.
Fu Shiyan unbuckled An Yan’s seatbelt, "Hold on, I’ll get the door for you."
Watching him walk around the car to her side to open the door, An Yan graciously said, "Thank you, Mr. Fu."
Fu Shiyan bent his arm and An Yan took it.
Linshi was a beautiful place, known for tourism.
Though the scenery in spring wasn’t as beautiful as in summer or fall, it still attracted endless streams of tourists.
This place was different from Banqiao Town, which was filled with crafts passed down through generations; here, it was more commercialized.
There were Western restaurants, hot pot places, cafes, bars, and art shops around, occasionally with small stalls, but not the kind that created much street noise, probably to avoid affecting the city’s aesthetics.
Having eaten plenty of wontons earlier, neither of them was hungry.
However, when they passed an ice cream shop, An Yan stopped, "I want some."
"One scoop."
An Yan raised three fingers, intending to say three.
But then Fu Shiyan said, "Okay! Why so obedient this time?"
A twitch touched the corner of An Yan’s mouth; that wasn’t what she meant.
Fu Shiyan laughed, understanding her thoughts all too well as he put his arm around her shoulder and entered the ice cream shop, pointing out rum, mango, and black sesame burst flavors.
An Yan pressed her lips together in a smile. "Hubby’s so good."
Fu Shiyan lightly flicked her nose. "I was just teasing you earlier."
As An Yan walked and ate, she mused, "It tastes pretty good."
"If you like it, I could buy this place."
An Yan clicked her tongue, "Just buy it like that, huh? President Fu is flush with cash."
Fu Shiyan whispered, "Whether I have excessive wealth depends on whether my wife gives me money, since I’m just a salaryman. But as for being bold? I don’t need to prove that, you know."
An Yan opened her mouth, at a loss with this man...
She gave him a sidelong glance and moved ahead.
Fu Shiyan followed, laughing.
"Aren’t you going to let me taste?"
An Yan turned, "Not a chance, last time I gave you a spoonful, you said it was too cold and snatched away the whole box. Now with just three scoops, no way."
"But now I want some."
An Yan raised an eyebrow, "Do you really want it?"
"Mm-hmm."
An Yan paused, scooping up a spoonful of the rum flavor to his mouth.
Fu Shiyan captured the spoon in his mouth, then wrapped his arms around An Yan’s waist, pulling her in front of him and lowered his head to kiss her lips.
An Yan tried to dodge but was held tightly in his embrace.
They kissed amidst the crowd.
After a long while, Fu Shiyan finally released An Yan, his fingertips lightly caressing her glossy, moist lips, "No ice cream tastes as sweet as you."
He tapped the brim of An Yan’s cap, "It’s a bit in the way. I’ll kiss you properly when we get back."
An Yan punched him lightly, "Can’t you be a bit more modest? Everyone is watching."
"Handsome men and beautiful women are a sight for sore eyes; I’m already generous not charging them an admission fee."
An Yan: "..."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, she quickly pulled him away from the area.
As they wandered from place to place, An Yan began to feel tired.
"Where did you say Zhou Ji’s bakery is?"
Fu Shiyan had done his research. "Just down the next street."
They arrived in front of Zhou Ji’s bakery.
Wow, the queue was incredibly long.
"I’ll wait here; you go sit on that bench over there."
An Yan nodded, her back aching from standing so long.
She found an empty bench and sat, watching Fu Shiyan greet her from the long line.
An Yan scooped up the last spoonful of ice cream and waved to him.
Before long, the line grew even longer.
Three girls chattered and pushed one another around, seemingly plotting something. Finally, a girl in a pink trench coat approached Fu Shiyan, looking up and saying something.
Out of instinct, Fu Shiyan promptly showcased his ring finger.
The girl skulked away, defeated.
Fu Shiyan looked down at his phone.
At that moment, An Yan’s phone buzzed.
She saw that Fu Shiyan had sent a ’good boy’ emoji with a caption:[Wife, did I do well?
]
An Yan: [Not bad, keep it up!]
Fu Shiyan:[? Just ’not bad’? Was it because I didn’t knock them down with a punch?]
An Yan chuckled,[Forget it, they seemed like college students.]
After about twenty minutes, it was finally Fu Shiyan’s turn, and by that point he had already turned down four people.
Fu Shiyan looked at the various pastries, buying five of each kind, totaling five packs.
After paying, he picked up the bags and walked back, only to see two young men standing in front of An Yan, trying to add her on WeChat.
Seeing Fu Shiyan, An Yan stood up and pointed at the approaching man, "If you want to add me on WeChat, you’ll have to ask my Younger Uncle if he agrees."
