Spoiled By My Ex-Fiance's Uncle
Chapter 279: The Necklace is Actually in Sheng Yu’s Hands

Chapter 279: Chapter 279: The Necklace is Actually in Sheng Yu’s Hands

Sheng Yu returned to the inn and burst into Sheng Xing’s room, just in time to see Bo Leng speaking with Sheng Xing.

Sheng Xing glanced at her, "What’s with all the panic?"

Sheng Yu’s gaze darted about as she spoke, "You guys carry on."

Shortly after, Bo Leng finished talking with Sheng Xing and passed by Sheng Yu without so much as a glance in her direction.

Once the door closed, Sheng Yu took a quick step forward and grabbed Sheng Xing’s arm, "Dad, that woman appeared again, we must leave this place quickly."

"Woman? What woman are you talking about?"

Sheng Yu was on the verge of tears, "It’s Bo Leng, Fu Shiyan’s wife, Mu Anyan!"

"What? How did she end up here?"

"She is Guyue! She must have come to excavate the ancient tomb."

Sheng Xing pondered for a moment, "Fu Shiyan has completely become Bo Leng now; he won’t remember Mu Anyan, what are you afraid of?"

Sheng Yu gripped Sheng Xing’s hand even tighter, "We already met Mu Anyan last night, and Bo Leng kept watching her; that was the way a man looks at a woman. He even stood up for her, chastising me and Dongzi."

Sheng Yu recounted everything that had happened last night and a moment ago without holding anything back.

Sheng Xing considered it and said, "Yu, maybe you’re just too nervous. Bo Leng simply didn’t want you lot causing trouble and drawing attention, that’s it."

Sheng Yu shook her head, "Dad, Bo Leng may have forgotten, but we can’t guarantee he won’t fall for her again!"

This was indeed a problem.

Sheng Xing thought for a while and then said, "This Mu Anyan, whether in terms of looks, figure, or learning, is top-notch. It’s normal for a man to be attracted and to choose her."

"Dad, you’re just boosting someone else’s morale and quashing my spirit! Are you still my real father!"

Sheng Xing smiled helplessly, "So I can’t even speak the truth now? I think your worries are unnecessary. On the contrary, it’s you who keeps giving them chances to meet."

"Dad! Let’s go, right now, we’re not doing this job!"

Sheng Xing found her being very unreasonable, "Nonsense! If we pull this off, we’ll reap billions! The brothers still need to eat; I can’t just leave because of one of your assumptions or possibilities!"

Sheng Yu wiped away her tears, "Dad, I’ve liked him for five years now, I don’t want to risk it."

In the end, Sheng Xing pitied his daughter and after weighing the pros and cons, he made a decision, "It’s raining today, the archaeological team won’t dig up the ground, so we’ll start opening the tomb tonight."

Sheng Yu finally felt at ease as long as they could get through the night, Bo Leng and Mu Anyan would never meet again.

Sheng Xing patted her on the shoulder, "Feel reassured now?"

Sheng Yu hugged the old man’s arm, "Dad, you’re so good to me."

"At my age, I only have one daughter; how could I not indulge you a bit?" Sheng Xing said, "Go on, tell them to come to my room for a meeting."

"I’ll do it right now!"

Sheng Yu gathered everyone in Sheng Xing’s room, where he proposed the plan for opening the tomb tonight.

Everyone was surprised since the rainy and damp soil could easily collapse, posing a certain risk.

However, Sheng Xing said that the archaeological team would be stepping up security and they wouldn’t have many chances, so everyone agreed without any objections, and after the meeting dispersed, they all went to prepare.

Sheng Yu followed behind Bo Leng, "Brother Leng, I’ll go with you tonight."

Bo Leng said with a deep voice, "There’s no need, I’ll bring Little Ou and the rest."

"No, I want to be with you!"

Bo Leng frowned slightly but didn’t say anything before heading straight into his room.

Sheng Yu, seeing that he didn’t even want to say more than necessary, bit her lip in anger.

She rummaged through her jewelry box and pulled out a necklace with a bullet pendant.

This was taken from Bo Leng’s neck five years ago; she found it attractive and decided to claim it for herself.

Sheng Xing saw it later and became instinctively wary since it’s rare for men to wear jewelry. After studying it for a while, he discovered a secret—a tracking device hidden inside.

Sheng Xing promptly threw the tracker into the sea.

Sheng Yu was particularly scared afterwards, grateful that Sheng Xing had discovered the secret; otherwise, Bo Leng would have been taken back.

The reason she kept the necklace was that she considered it to be the love token Bo Leng gave her.

She placed the necklace back into the jewelry box and lay on the bed, she needed to rest properly. The kick she received in the chest earlier was still painfully throbbing.

Zhumu Inn.

When An Yan entered the room with a bag in hand, Fu Jinqiao had just woken up.

She rubbed her hair and yawned lazily, "Younger Auntie, what time is it?"

"The sun’s on your bum already." An Yan put the bag on the table and turned to wash her hands in the basin.

"Ah! Is it? Have I slept that long?" Fu Jinqiao scrambled up and stood by the bamboo window to look outside; where was the sun? It was clearly overcast and raining.

"Younger Auntie, you’re so playful," chuckled Fu Jinqiao as she walked into the bathroom, watching An Yan squeeze toothpaste on her brush, "Oh, thank you so much, mwa mwa mwa, love you!"

An Yan glanced at her, "Acting cute!"

Fu Jinqiao hugged her arm and swayed, "I’m genuinely cute, but still not as cute as the two little ones at home."

An Yan handed her the toothbrush and flicked her forehead, "Hurry up and wash up, then come out and eat crab roe buns. We have to meet with the archaeological team later."

Fu Jinqiao murmured an acknowledgment, took the toothbrush, and hurriedly began to wash.

After coming out from the bathroom, Fu Jinqiao sat opposite An Yan, and they both began eating the crab roe buns and seafood porridge together.

Fu Jinqiao’s mouth was stuffed full, "Younger Auntie, there’s a bloodstain on your clothes? How did that happen?"

An Yan looked down and noticed the stain. It was from when she beat Dongzi and got splattered.

"I beat up a mad dog."

"Huh?" Fu Jinqiao was shocked, "Really?"

An Yan simply hummed affirmatively.

Fu Jinqiao quickly swallowed the bun, finished the porridge, and sent a voice message to Mu Qianfan.

[Brother Three, this morning Little Auntie beat up a mad dog, and it even bled!]

It wasn’t long before Mu Qianfan replied.

Fu Jinqiao opened it, and Mu Qianfan’s voice surrounded her.

[When it’s just the two of us, don’t call her Little Auntie, I would have to downgrade myself.]

Fu Jinqiao forced a fake smile as she looked at An Yan, feeling a tiny bit embarrassed.

An Yan wrapped her arm around her shoulder, "So when it’s just us and Brother Three, you call me Little Five Sister?"

Hehehe," Fu Jinqiao chuckled, "You’re so clever."

An Yan chuckled, "Alright, Little Five Sister wants you to change clothes quickly now, we’re going directly to the ancient tomb to find Professor He."

"Sure thing!"

Fu Jinqiao pulled out a white tracksuit from her suitcase, and standing next to An Yan, they looked like a black-and-white duo.

The two of them, each carrying a backpack, headed towards the ancient tomb in the heart of the mountains.

Fu Jinqiao often did archaeology, so though she looked slender, she was a good walker and never fussed.

An Yan regularly exercised and climbed mountains, so the two were quick-paced walkers.

An hour later, having crossed several paths, they arrived at the foot of a relatively low mountain amidst the range.

A twelve-member archaeological team was gathered in front of the ancient tomb, studying it.

The tomb was discovered by a tourist.

His first love had died, and he thought this place had good feng shui and wanted to bury her ashes here. When he started digging with a shovel, he happened to hit a soft patch of earth that collapsed.

He looked inside and six or seven badgers scampered out, giving him quite a scare.

Digging a bit more, he found it was a hole that seemed bottomless.

Later, feeling a sinister vibe and occasionally hearing what seemed like crying sounds from inside, he freaked out and ran to inform the forest rangers.

When the rangers arrived, they realized it was a tomb and immediately reported it to the authorities.

The superiors dispatched an archaeological team.

The team knew that Fu Jinqiao’s Younger Auntie was Master Guyue, so Professor He spoke to her in hopes Master Guyue would come.

The arrival of An Yan and Fu Jinqiao drew everyone’s attention.

Professor He hurried over to shake hands with An Yan.

After exchanging pleasantries, An Yan probed lightly, "Observation, listening, questioning, cutting, the Divining the Perfect Burial Spot Technique also adheres to this principle. This tomb is quite large, we need to calculate the direction and angle precisely, and combine it with the terrain to drill from a distance. After all, the exposed entrance is the entrance to the tomb, and there’s bound to be lots of traps and troubles below it."

Professor He nodded, "Indeed, but the weather isn’t cooperating. The forecast didn’t forecast rain, yet it’s rained. Looks like we’ll have to wait a few more days for the weather to clear before we can explore the tomb."

An Yan agreed, "That’s true; otherwise, it would be quite dangerous. Professor He, there have been tomb robbers lurking around various ancient tomb discovery sites lately. It would be best to assign people to take turns guarding at night."

Professor He concurred, "We have a total of twelve people, four in a group taking turns guarding the tomb every day, until we can proceed to explore."

An Yan then shared some stories about ancient tombs with everyone.

Someone laughed, "Master Guyue, you’re so young yet you know so much. How many tombs have you explored?"

An Yan chuckled, "Seven or eight hundred, perhaps."

She recounted a few interesting stories, to the great interest of the listeners.

From a distance on the hill, Bo Leng put down the binoculars and listened to the sounds transmitted back by the listening device in the tree.

So, this woman was Master Guyue.

Ou said, "I heard Master Guyue is quite legendary. Her husband, Fu Shiyan, is the CEO of Fu Corporation, and her family is the Mu Family of Jiangcheng. Not only is she beautiful but also talented. Even after her husband’s death, she still manages his company perfectly."

Sun clicked his tongue, "What ’husband’s company’? Originally, Fu Shiyan doted on his wife so much that he already gave her all of the Fu Family’s assets."

Bo Leng furrowed his brow, "Her husband died?"

Sun nodded, "That’s what they say. It’s a pity, a woman on her own, not only running the company but also raising a pair of twin boys all by herself."

Bo Leng didn’t catch the rest, with one thought occupying his mind: her husband died.

So, she’s single now!

That’s good!

Ou asked, "Brother Leng, what time are we coming tonight?"

"At midnight when they are deeply asleep," Bo Leng said.

Night fell.

An Yan took out a thick coat and wrapped it around her.

Fu Jinqiao asked, "Little Auntie, what are you doing?"

An Yan handed her a watch, "This watch has a tracking feature; it works in the sea or underground. I’m going to the ancient tomb for a bit; if something happens, it will contact you. The green dot will turn red."

Fu Jinqiao also wanted to find a coat, but An Yan held her hand, "Just wait for me here like a good girl, I’ll be back soon."

"I’ll go with you; otherwise, I won’t feel at ease."

An Yan smiled, "If you come, you’d be holding me back. Just wait here." With that, she left quickly.
