Chapter 255 That Water Has a Problem

Chapter 255: Chapter 255 That Water Has a Problem

Moon Restaurant entrance.

As soon as Si Heng got out of the car, he saw a man casually leaning against the doorpost, smoking.

He walked up the steps, his lips curling into a smile, though his eyes could not hide his fatigue, "Did you and An Yan come here for dinner?"

Fu Shiyan pinched out the cigarette butt and threw it into the nearby trash can. He shrugged, "Came for dinner, how about you? You look pretty tired."

"Just got off the operating table." Si Heng pressed his brow, "Guan Ning got drunk, and some guy was harassing her, so I came over to pick her up."

Fu Shiyan chuckled, "You pick up another woman, will Su Yue not be angry?"

Si Heng shook his head, "Ever since the incident when I got into a fight and ended up in the station, she hasn’t spoken to me."

"Is it because of the station incident she’s not speaking to you, or because you had her send Guan Ning back that she’s not speaking?"

Si Heng looked slightly surprised, "Maybe she thought I was bossing her around, so she got angry."

"You don’t even know why she’s mad at you, how are you going to be her husband?" disdain filled Fu Shiyan’s eyes.

Si Heng scoffed, "Back then, you were bumping around like a headless fly just the same. How could you be any better than me?"

Fu Shiyan adjusted his cufflinks, "I’m more than a little better than you. Yanyan and our babies are about to be born. You can’t even hold her hand now, can you?"

The conversation was going nowhere, and Si Heng certainly didn’t want to eat dog food. He hummed lightly and walked inside.

He felt Fu Shiyan following and turned back with a frown, "Why are you following me?"

Fu Shiyan patted his shoulder, "No worries, didn’t you say Guan Ning was being harassed? I’ll come with you to have a look, in case there are too many of them and you’re at a disadvantage."

Si Heng found him a bit strange, as Fu Shiyan usually showed no interest in other people’s affairs, but he couldn’t pinpoint what was off.

The two men one in front of the other arrived at the private room on the second floor.

Si Heng knocked on the door, which was quickly opened.

The girl was Wang Lingling, who had gone to the restroom with Guan Ning.

Wang Lingling looked anxious, "Mr. Si, Ningning is drunk, and Pang Hai from my class won’t let go of her."

Si Heng nodded and walked in, with Fu Shiyan following suit.

When Wang Lingling saw Fu Shiyan, her eyes lit up, unable to look away.

Guan Ning looked at Si Heng with red eyes, "Brother Heng."

Si Heng waved his hand, "Come here."

Guan Ning tried to move, but was held back by a red-haired young man beside her, "Where are you going? Didn’t you say you would leave after drinking this with me?"

Guan Ning glared at him, "I won’t drink!"

Pang Hai cursed, "You have to drink whether you want to or not!"

Si Heng said coldly, "I’ll drink with you. Let her go."

Pang Hai let go, "Alright, you finish this bottle of booze, and I’ll let you go."

Guan Ning ran to Si Heng’s side, "Brother Heng, you can’t drink, there might be something in that alcohol."

Pang Hai snorted, "I, Pang Hai, may not be much, but I wouldn’t stoop to drugging."

Wang Lingling chimed in, "That’s hard to say! Let’s just drink water instead! He’s a doctor, a hero who saves lives, and the hospital has rules against drinking. Pang Hai, don’t go too far, we know how you brought us here. If we talk, just wait for the school to come looking for you."

Pang Hai grew impatient, "Alright, hurry up."

Wang Lingling poured some mineral water into an empty cup and handed it to Si Heng, "Mr. Si."

Si Heng looked at Pang Hai, "Don’t bother Guan Ning again in the future."

Pang Hai nodded, "I, Pang Hai, keep my word."

Si Heng downed the cup in one go and looked at Guan Ning, "Let’s go."

Guan Ning followed the man out.

Fu Shiyan stood with his hands in his pockets, smiling at Pang Hai, "See you in a bit."

Pang Hai listened to the man’s inexplicable words, a chill growing in his heart, "Why does he look so familiar to me?"

Someone said, "He looks like Fu Shiyan!"

Pang Hai was stunned, it took a good while for him to come back to his senses, "We’re in deep trouble, let’s get out of here."

Just as the people in the private room opened the door, they saw four men blocking the entrance.

Han Yang smiled, "President Fu asked you to remain calm, he will give you a chance to take the stage."

Everyone: "..."

Passing through the pavilion corridor, Wang Lingling caught up with Fu Shiyan, "Mr. Fu, would you like some water?"

"Water from a bottle that’s been opened?"

Wang Lingling felt a bit embarrassed, "I was just afraid you might be thirsty."

Fu Shiyan’s footsteps faltered, "It seems you really hope I drink it, how about I have a little?"

Wang Lingling looked at him full of expectation.

Fu Shiyan took the bottle, shook it, and poured the remaining half bottle of water over her head.

Wang Lingling was stunned, standing frozen in place, and then she burst into tears, "Mr. Fu, I was kindly offering you water, even if you weren’t pleased, you shouldn’t treat me like this, right?"

Si Heng and Guan Ning stopped, and when they saw what was happening, they both walked back.

Si Heng’s brows knitted slightly, "What happened here?"

Fu Shiyan’s sharp black eyes grew colder as his gaze swept over Guan Ning and Wang Lingling before he strode toward the hall.

Si Heng knew Fu Shiyan was not someone to get angry without reason, and he said in a cold voice, "Let’s go over there."

Guan Ning felt a sinking feeling in her heart and reprimanded in a low voice, "What have you done?"

Wang Lingling looked aggrieved, "I just wanted Mr. Fu to have some water."

Guan Ning frowned, "I haven’t succeeded yet, what’s the rush? Even if our plan gets exposed, you have to protect me, understand?"

Wang Lingling was full of resentment, "If I protect you, what about me?"

Guan Ning whispered, "If you protect me, I will compensate you. Otherwise, if we both go down, you’ll end up worse off than now!"

Wang Lingling had no choice but to nod reluctantly.

In the hall, lush green plants abounded, and two women were sitting on woven chairs at a round table.

One with a clearly swollen belly that couldn’t conceal her grace and elegance, and the other, charming and attractive, alluring in every move.

The two women, seemingly a great contrast to each other, did not seem out of place when seated together.

Su Yue raised her eyebrows at An Yan, "Old Dog Fu is here."

An Yan turned back to look, her eyes and brow curving into a smile, "Ayan."

Fu Shiyan took her extended hand, "I’m back."

He looked at Su Yue, "You got here pretty fast. Brother Heng will be handed over to you in a bit."

Su Yue gestured an OK sign with her hand, "I’m going to send him back to the hospital right away."

An Yan looked sympathetically at Si Heng as he walked towards them; it was quite pitiable for a man.

When Si Heng saw Su Yue, he was quite astonished, "You’re also here to dine?"

Su Yue stroked a teacup, "I just came to enjoy the show, and incidentally do a good deed."

Si Heng felt somewhat confused by her words, but he nodded anyway. He didn’t expect to have a conversation with Su Yue today; after all, her eyes usually held the coldness of a blade, but now perhaps she was being kinder for An Yan’s sake.

For some reason, Si Heng felt an impulse whenever he looked at Su Yue, a strong urge to do something quite indecent to her.

He quickly realized something was amiss and abruptly remembered the water he drank earlier.

He sharply turned his head to look at Guan Ning and Wang Lingling who had followed, "There was something wrong with that water."
