Chapter 235: Younger Uncle, I Can’t Be Your Third Sister-in-Law Anymore

Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Younger Uncle, I Can’t Be Your Third Sister-in-Law Anymore

The Western-style restaurant was decorated in a romantic and elegant style, filled with an exotic ambiance.

The entire restaurant was booked by Mu Qianfan, in order to celebrate Ji Yunran’s birthday.

Mu Qianfan’s gaze was exceptionally tender, his eyes only on the beautiful and radiant woman in front of him.

"Does it taste good?"

Ji Yunran nodded, "Thank you, Teacher Mu, the steak is very delicious."

"I’m glad you like it."

Mu Qianfan snapped his fingers, and the melodious music slowly began to play.

A woman with a violin stood by, playing accompaniment, while a waiter, pushing a cart, approached step by step.

Closer now, the waiter stopped, nodded slightly, then left.

Mu Qianfan stood up, lifted the cover off the dish on the cart, revealing a delicately crafted heart-shaped cake.

He placed the cake on the table, inserted a candle, and lit it.

"Happy twenty-third birthday, make a wish."

Ji Yunran smiled sweetly, clasped her hands together, closed her eyes to make a wish, and then blew out the candle.

"What did you wish for?"

Ji Yunran smiled, "I can’t say, or it won’t come true."

"What if it does come true?"

Ji Yunran pursed her lips, "I hope Teacher Mu can be my boyfriend."

"That wish, I can help you fulfil it, and I’m very willing to help you fulfill it..."

"What about me?"

Mu Qianfan hadn’t finished speaking when he was interrupted by the breathless Fu Jinqiao.

Her eyes red, she demanded, "What am I, then?"

Mu Qianfan’s face darkened, and he stood up, very displeased, "We’ve already broken up. Why are you here?"

"I just wanted to ask you, where am I lacking compared to her?"

Mu Qianfan coldly said, "Being with you, I felt very bored, dull, with no feelings of heartbeat. I felt something the first time I met Yunran. She’s intellectual, kind, elegant; you can’t compare to her in any aspect, how can you still have the face to compare yourself with her?"

Fu Jinqiao looked at him, shocked, "You’ve never been this harsh to me, nor this mocking..."

"I’ve already broken up with you, if you keep pestering me, of course, I’ll despise it." Mu Qianfan’s eyes lacking a trace of warmth, "Fu Jinqiao, my feelings for you were only pity, given your nine years of unrequited love for me. Now that I’ve found true love, I can’t keep pretending with you anymore."

Fu Jinqiao’s eyes blurred with tears, she raised her hand to wipe them away, her voice choked, "You said you only pity me?"

"Yes, just pity. I don’t like you, and I definitely won’t love you." Mu Qianfan looked at her as if she was a stranger, "Don’t show up in front of me and Yunran from now on, I really dislike it."

Fu Jinqiao, in disbelief, listened to his words and walked towards him, "Younger Uncle, you are lying to me, right? Today is my birthday, you used to say that, previously you never celebrated my birthday, that from this year on, you would celebrate it with me every year. Why are you celebrating it with someone else now?"

She stood before him, looking up into his eyes.

His eyes, which once seemed filled with countless stars, now lacked any warmth, filled only with disgust.

Fu Jinqiao had never thought that one person’s affection for another could vanish so quickly, nor had she imagined that someone could so immediately immerse themselves in a new relationship after ending another.

She wanted to hold his hand, her voice almost begging as she murmured, "Younger Uncle."

Mu Qianfan coldly said, "Get away, don’t blame me if I have to remove you without politeness."

Fu Jinqiao felt exceptionally wronged, she wanted to hug him, to see if he was still the man who would hold her, kiss her, tell her he loved her.

However, Mu Qianfan took a step back and jerked his chin up.

Two waiters came running over to escort Fu Jinqiao away.

Fu Jinqiao abruptly broke free from the waiters’ grasp, rushed to the table, grabbed the cake, and shoved it into her mouth, crying as she spoke, "This is my cake, you said you would celebrate my birthday with me..."

Mu Qianfan glared at the waiters, "What are you doing, not getting her out!"

The waiters quickly dragged her out.

Mu Qianfan looked apologetically at Ji Yunran, "I’m sorry, the cake is ruined. I’ll get you another one in a bit."

Ji Yunran sniffled, "The person who should be apologizing is me, I’ve brought trouble to you. If it weren’t for me, you two wouldn’t have broken up."

"We were never suitable. I just pitied her and fulfilled her little girl’s wish," Mu Qianfan said with a gentle smile, "Although the cake is gone, your wish has come true."

Ji Yunran smiled beautifully, "Teacher Mu, thank you."

"Still calling me Teacher Mu?"

"Qianfan."

Mu Qianfan’s eyes brimmed with joy, "Yunran, let’s continue with our meal, and later we can go watch a movie."

Ji Yunran hummed softly, "Okay."

At the end of summer, the night wind was slightly cool.

Fu Jinqiao was being escorted out of the Western restaurant.

She still wanted to rush back in but was blocked by the waiter.

"Miss, if it’s over, don’t cling on; why embarrass yourself like this?"

"Exactly. The other couple is so well-matched; don’t demean yourself here."

The two stood like guardian deities, saying things that hurt one’s self-respect.

Fu Jinqiao had never heard such harsh words since she was a child, and her tears fell uncontrollably.

She wiped her tears and turned to leave.

An hour later, Mu Qianfan was carrying a bag for Ji Yunran as they took the elevator downstairs.

Although they were half a step apart, their expressions seemed exceptionally intimate.

Ji Yunran took the initiative to hook her arm around the man’s.

The elevator door opened, and they walked out together.

They were not wearing masks, clearly not fearing the paparazzi, which meant they were openly acknowledging their relationship.

Just as they exited the restaurant, a tall and imposing figure appeared.

Fu Shiyan punched Mu Qianfan in the face, causing him to stagger and fall, bringing Ji Yunran down with him.

Mu Qianfan licked the bloodstain off his lip and helped Ji Yunran up.

"Did Jinqiao complain to you?"

Fu Shiyan sneered and threw another punch at his face.

Ji Yunran tried to intervene, but Fu Shiyan, with a sweep of his arm, knocked her to the ground.

Her hand grazed the skin, furrowing her brow as her eyes filled with tears, "Stop fighting, it’s my fault."

Mu Qianfan then punched Fu Shiyan in the face as he helped Ji Yunran up.

The two exchanged blows, but Fu Shiyan soon gained the upper hand.

"Stop fighting!" Fu Jinqiao shouted from the bottom of the restaurant stairs.

Fu Shiyan’s fist halted mid-air, he pushed Mu Qianfan away, and began wiping the blood from his knuckles with a wet tissue.

"What did you promise me back then?"

Mu Qianfan, supported by Ji Yunran, scoffed, "That was then. Now that I’ve found true love, the past doesn’t count anymore."

Fu Shiyan looked at Fu Jinqiao, "You silly girl, is he really worth all this for you?"

Fu Jinqiao walked up the steps, stood in front of Mu Qianfan, "Brother San, I don’t regret having loved you. Even though to you, I was just a pitiable girl, and your feelings were just pity. But it was still the most beautiful memory for me. Since you’ve found your true love, I wish you well."

Mu Qianfan said thank you.

Fu Jinqiao nodded, "I wish you barrenness yet a household full of children and grandchildren, and that your head is surrounded by green fields and fragrant year-round!"

She took Fu Shiyan’s arm, "Younger Uncle, let’s go."

Fu Shiyan and Fu Jinqiao descended the stairs, he opened the passenger door for her, and Fu Jinqiao got in.

Until the car drove away, Fu Jinqiao did not look at Mu Qianfan again.

Fu Shiyan looked ahead and sighed softly, "If you want to cry, cry."

Fu Jinqiao burst into tears, "Younger Uncle, I can’t become your sister-in-law anymore..."

Fu Shiyan: "..."
