Chapter 225: Chapter 225: The Drawing was Plagiarized

An hour later, An Yan organized the suggestions into a document and sent it to Zhou Wenwen.

Zhou Wenwen, upon seeing An Yan’s proposals encompassing historical context, cultural depth, and character analysis, suggested styles, colors, patterns, and textures for the qipao.

She immediately had an idea and hurried to find An Yan.

Since designers had their own offices while assistants only had workstations, they were separated. However, there was a partition high enough for privacy between the assistants’ workstations.

Zhou Wenwen excitedly pulled up a chair to sit beside An Yan, "I have some preliminary ideas in my head. Combined with your suggestions, I think they will become more three-dimensional and vivid. I’m going to start designing now, and then we can study it together. If we win this time, the year-end bonus will double. Most importantly, my rating could rise from A to S, and you can be promoted from an assistant to a B-level designer."

An Yan smiled, "Yeah, let’s work hard together."

Two days later, Zhou Wenwen sent the draft to An Yan.

She was slightly excited, "I sketched the outlines according to your advice, then refined them, and came up with these three drafts."

An Yan opened the design drawings and examined them carefully.

She picked up a pen and made some marks, "These three qipao designs are quite eye-catching, but the embellishments are a bit too intricate, and the edging isn’t delicate enough. Let me help you modify them."

Zhou Wenwen pressed her hands together in gratitude, "Thank you, dear! I think you have an excellent eye, always able to pinpoint problems at first glance, and you’re especially sensitive to fashion elements."

An Yan smiled, "Thank you for trusting me, and not looking down on me because of my lower rank."

Zhou Wenwen was very sincere, "Rank is only temporary, talent is what’s most important. I have high hopes for you! Qipao is not my strong suit, and I wouldn’t have managed to submit anything this time without your advice and planning."

"You’re being modest," An Yan smiled lightly, "Don’t sell yourself short, I think you’re very talented and hardworking, and you’ll definitely shine in your area of expertise."

Zhou Wenwen felt slightly embarrassed, "Galaxy is my idol. Although I’ve never met her in person, her design philosophy and style have benefited me for life. That’s why I absolutely wanted to join Galaxy Design Studio after graduation."

An Yan was moved, she hadn’t expected to inadvertently empower others and become someone’s role model, "Your hard work will definitely be recognized by Galaxy."

Zhou Wenwen nodded, "You too. In fact, I think your design style and philosophy are quite similar to Galaxy’s. Looks like you must be a diehard Galaxy fan as well."

An Yan laughed, the idea of being a fan of herself felt a bit arrogant.

Zhou Wenwen continued, "Actually, when you first came to the studio, you caused dissatisfaction among many people. They thought you were brought in by President Su or President Fu. But time has proved everything. You possess not only beauty but also wisdom. I believe you will become one of the best designers in Galaxy Design Studio in the future."

An Yan raised an eyebrow, "If you say that, won’t Galaxy have an opinion?"

Zhou Wenwen laughed, "The pupil outshines the master! But you have to keep it a secret, definitely don’t let Galaxy find out."

An Yan nodded gently and agreed.

"I won’t disturb you any longer. You go ahead and make the changes, and I’ll treat you to lunch at noon."

"Sure."

After Zhou Wenwen left, An Yan began to modify the drafts.

Two hours later, the little one inside her belly protested.

An Yan gently stroked her slightly protruding belly and spoke softly, "Alright, alright, Mom will stand up and move around. Are you guys feeling uncomfortable?"

The two little troublemakers responded, moving around here and there.

An Yan stood up. She was six and a half months pregnant and carrying twins, so her belly looked like that of eight months.

She felt quite heavy as she picked up her water cup and made her way to the water room leisurely.

Seeing that the water machine in the water room indicated a temperature of 90°C, she didn’t want to go back and trouble herself, so she chose to stand there and wait.

Meanwhile, Zhuo An called Ruan Qingqing, mentioning that his blueprints might have been left on an assistant’s workstation and asked her to check.

Ruan Qingqing didn’t think much about it and went over to look at the assistant’s desk.

"It seems it was left at An Yan’s place, have a look there," said Zhuo An.

Ruan Qingqing gave an acknowledgment and came to An Yan’s spot to see if there were any design drawings on the desk.

She reported back, "Sister Zhuo, there isn’t anything here at An Yan’s."

"Have another careful look."

Since An Yan wasn’t there, Ruan Qingqing felt it wasn’t right to go through An Yan’s drawers.

She said, "Sister Zhuo, there really is nothing here at An Yan’s, I’ve checked already. An Yan isn’t here, and it wouldn’t be right for me to look through her drawers."

"Fine, let’s leave it at that then."

Ruan Qingqing returned to her desk and sat down, beginning to focus on the task Zhuo An had assigned her.

The next day.

Everyone arrived at the meeting room to report to Su Yue.

Out of the six designers, after the first four finished reporting, Su Yue’s expression remained indifferent.

When it was Zhuo An’s turn to report, Su Yue’s eyes lit up.

Zhou Wenwen was shocked, she was about to stand up when An Yan held her down.

An Yan shook her head.

Zhou Wenwen pursed her lips, seething with anger.

Su Yue said, "Zhuo An, please give us a good introduction to your design concept and ideas. After all, subsequent designs will be based on this."

Zhuo An nodded slightly and began to speak.

What she described was exactly the same as the content in the document An Yan had sent to Zhou Wenwen.

Zhou Wenwen’s face turned green with anger, she clenched her teeth tightly, if it weren’t for An Yan holding her down, she would definitely have confronted Zhuo An fiercely.

With encouraging applause, Su Yue said, "Your design concept and ideas are similar to Galaxy’s, and I think this design has exceeded your usual standard. The drafts are stunning."

Zhuo An smiled smugly, "Thank you, President Su for the compliment."

Su Yue turned to Zhou Wenwen, "Now it’s your turn."

Taking a deep breath, Zhou Wenwen stood in front of the large screen and imported the drafts from her computer.

The crowd let out a chorus of hisses.

Su Yue raised an eyebrow, "The style of your design is very similar to Zhuo An’s, even the decorations on the cheongsam are the same. I have an objection to this."

Zhou Wenwen pointed at Zhuo An, "You must have copied!"

Zhuo An shrugged, "You can’t just say anything you want without proof, Zhou Wenwen. Do you think I, an S-level designer, would copy from you, an A-level designer? I might as well say you’re the one copying me!"

What Zhou Wenwen hated most was being belittled because of rank. Her eyes reddened, "So what if you’re S? Whether you copied or not, you know in your heart!"

Zhuo An gave a sneer, "Fine, if you say I copied, then bring the evidence. Otherwise, I’ll have to demand a statement, claiming that it’s you who copied from me!"

Zhou Wenwen looked at Su Yue, "President Su, I request to check the surveillance footage. These three raw drafts are the hard work of An Yan and me. She gave me the design ideas, and I drew them, then she revised them. We can’t let someone else plagiarize the designs we labored over!"
