Chapter 189: Chapter 189 Ambushed
A helicopter unleashed a fierce attack on the windows, the sound of gunfire was incessant.
An Yan watched as the man remained motionless, his white shirt dyed red with fresh blood.
Still a step too late.
An Yan and Teng Rui locked eyes, An Yan made a gesture, but Teng Rui vigorously shook his head.
At that moment, three fully armed men jumped in through the window.
An Yan quickly dashed over and with a Sweeping Leg, she knocked a man down, pulled out a dagger fixed on the upside of the man’s thigh holster, and slashed across his throat.
Then she flung the dagger directly at one of the other two, hitting him square in the forehead, giving him no chance to shoot.
The third man was about to shoot when he was stabbed in the neck by Teng Rui and immediately collapsed to the ground.
An Yan grabbed the machine gun and looked at Teng Rui, "You go first, I’ll cover the rear."
Teng Rui’s eyes reddened, "No way."
An Yan’s eyes were cold and stern, "That’s an order."
After she spoke, she held the machine gun and sprinted to the window to open fire at the helicopter, not giving the enemy a chance to retaliate.
Taking advantage of the situation, Teng Rui ran out, only to find that the entire gambling city had lost its signal.
She thought she had tracked Michael down, but instead, she had fallen into his trap. She was really going to be the death of Mo.
No, she had to go for reinforcements.
An Yan hit the helicopter’s fuel tank, and with a bang, the helicopter exploded.
The massive blast wave from the explosion swept over, knocking An Yan to the ground.
Her head buzzed.
Reaching up to touch it, there was blood by her ear; the explosion must have been so powerful that it caused her eardrum to perforate and bleed.
She found several pistols on the mercenaries’ bodies and staggered out.
Suddenly, a door opened.
The man’s long arm pulled someone into the door.
An Yan instinctively pressed the gun to his forehead, but upon recognizing the face, she was surprised.
"Young Master Bai?"
Bai Qinghan, with the cold barrel of the gun against his head, couldn’t help swallowing, "An Yan, don’t be nervous."
"What are you doing here?"
Bai Qinghan said, "My uncle’s brother does business here, and he has been out of touch for several days, so I came looking for him. I was curious and came out to take a look when I heard the explosion."
An Yan was very sensitive right now and had to guard against people.
She holstered her gun, "Curiosity killed the cat. Leave New Delhi quickly, it’s not safe here."
"I haven’t found him yet."
An Yan saw his stubbornness, "I have a wide network of people, I can help you look for him. Send his information to this number."
After she recited a series of numbers, she said, "Don’t stay too long, go back to Hua Country."
An Yan went to leave, but Bai Qinghan grabbed her arm, "You’re injured."
An Yan pulled back her arm, "Remember, don’t follow me and definitely don’t tell Fu Shiyan." After speaking, she burst out of the door.
Bai Qinghan already felt that An Yan was no ordinary person, and today’s encounter only confirmed his suspicion.
He wanted to call Fu Shiyan, but every time he thought of the uproarious news about him and Mu Yingying, he felt that Fu Shiyan didn’t deserve An Yan.
After much hesitation, he still didn’t make the call, but instead rushed out to chase after An Yan.
An Yan’s car was parked two kilometers away from the gambling city in an alley.
She discarded the cumbersome high heels and ran barefoot, a shard of broken glass stabbing into the sole of her foot.
She frowned slightly, pulled out the glass shard, and continued on without slowing down.
Soon, she returned to her car, changed clothes, patched up the wound with a band-aid, and put on her shoes.
She tried to contact Teng Rui, but there was no response.
She tied her hair into a bun and drove away.
In Jinge, they had a safe house, located in an underground bar in a small town.
An Yan stopped the car one kilometer from the bar because ahead there were military vehicles, and many mercenaries disembarked and surrounded the bar.
Clearly, their coordinates had been exposed.
She drove in reverse away from the area and parked the car in front of an old hostel.
The guesthouse owner hurried out to meet the newcomers, waving her hands and gesturing with her eyes as she said, "We are not taking guests today."
An Yan nodded slightly and turned to leave.
Three mercenaries came out of the guesthouse.
"Hey! Turn around, or we will shoot."
An Yan pretended she didn’t understand and walked towards the gate.
"Stop! Or we will kill this woman!"
An Yan’s steps faltered.
"Raise your hands and slowly turn around."
In the night, An Yan squinted at the guesthouse across from her.
She did as she was told and slowly turned around.
The three mercenaries approached her with guns raised.
But before they could get close, all three fell to the ground with bullets in their foreheads.
An Yan, with her hands raised, gave a thumbs-up.
The owner ran to An Yan, "Mo, they are looking for you, you should leave S Country quickly."
An Yan pressed on her shoulder, "I won’t go anywhere until I deal with Michael, for the sake of my brother and Man."
As soon as Man was mentioned, the owner began to cry, her youngest son, and the youngest member of the Flying Eagle Organization, had died at the age of 16 two years ago.
Footsteps sounded, and three men in black clothes ran in, each carrying a sniper bag.
They took off their masks.
An Yan slightly lifted the corners of her mouth, "Wolf, Hawk, Leopard."
Wolf said, "Leng Feng went to find Teng Rui, still no contact."
An Yan nodded, "I haven’t been able to contact Teng Rui either, it might be a signal problem. First, clean up the bodies on the ground."
An Yan and the owner went into the guesthouse, and the owner brought her a first-aid kit.
She quickly took a shower, and after coming out, she first dealt with a problem with her ear.
The blast wave from the explosion had caused her left ear to be deaf and, although it was no longer bleeding, she estimated it would be a while before her hearing recovered.
Then, the room door was knocked.
An Yan grabbed her gun and hid behind the wall, "Who is it?"
"Wolf."
An Yan opened the door, and Wolf stood at the entrance, his resolute face with its broken eyebrow giving off a fierce air.
"I found a man outside the door, acting suspiciously, with a Hua Country accent. He’s now locked in my room."
An image flashed in An Yan’s mind, and she strode out.
An Yan walked into Wolf’s room and saw Bai Qinghan lying on the bed with his hands and feet tied behind his back, his head turned to one side.
"An Yan."
An Yan took a deep breath, "Didn’t I tell you not to follow me?"
"I was worried about your safety."
Wolf leaned against the door with his arms crossed and clicked his tongue, "With you here, she’s in more danger. What if the enemies capture you and threaten An Yan with you? You’re just holding her back."
Bai Qinghan didn’t want to admit it, but it was true.
He had learned some self-defense martial arts since he was young, but he had been subdued after just a few moves against Wolf.
An Yan helped him untie, "Leave now, go back to Hua Country. Tell Wolf your brother’s information, and he will help you find him."
Bai Qinghan reluctantly nodded and agreed.
Watching An Yan’s figure rush out the door, Wolf chuckled softly, "She’s not the same as you. Her concerns go beyond love, they include the safety of the nation."
After leaving his cousin’s information, Bai Qinghan drove away.
As he drove, he thought about how he could be of help to An Yan when suddenly a figure darted in front of his car.
He slammed on the brakes and quickly got out to check.
A girl was lying in front of his car, clutching her abdomen.
Bai Qinghan helped her up and saw by the light that her abdomen was covered in blood.
"Are you hurt? It wasn’t me who hit you, was it?"
The girl’s face was pale as she held a dagger to his abdomen, "Hurry up and get me out of here, or I’ll kill you right now."
