Spoiled By My Ex-Fiance's Uncle
Chapter 182: The Truth of Those Years

Chapter 182: Chapter 182: The Truth of Those Years

An Yan woke up, but it was still dark outside.

She turned over, feeling the coldness at her side with her fingertips.

She withdrew her hand, her eyes dry and scratchy.

She buried her head back into the blanket, low sobbing sounds quietly emerging.

She didn’t know when, but she fell asleep again.

Meanwhile, Fu Shiyan sat on the sofa in the living room of another villa.

A row of liquor bottles was placed on the coffee table, and he opened each one, gulping it down his throat.

The liquor trailed down his chin into the crisp white collar of his shirt.

Soon, one bottle was empty; looking at the bottle in his hand, he remembered those photos and felt increasingly agitated, fiercely throwing the bottle away.

With a loud crash, the bottle smashed into the television screen, instantly covering it with a web-like crack.

He swept the remaining bottles from the coffee table, crashing them down; liquor spilled over the table and the carpet.

Fu Shiyan lay on the sofa, and after a while, he fell asleep.

When he woke up again, it was already bright outside.

He sat up and looked at the chaos around him, then called out, "Yanyan."

The next second, he silenced himself, vaguely recalling the conflict between the two.

He strode from the sofa and called Han Yang, "Come pick me up; bring some clothes too."

He tossed his phone on the sofa and went to the bathroom, taking a hot shower.

Looking at himself in the mirror, his eyes bloodshot, his stubble blue, a picture of decline, he began to clean up.

Before long, it was the usually cool and taciturn Fu Shiyan again.

The doorbell rang, and Fu Shiyan opened the door.

Han Yang handed over a shirt, a suit, and a cashmere coat.

After changing, Fu Shiyan stepped out and instructed Han Yang to find a cleaning service.

In half a day, the entire staff at Fu Corporation knew that their president was choking on his troubles.

Whenever the higher-ups who were summoned to the president’s office returned, they looked like they had been through a sauna, with problems found in every report they brought.

A group of secretaries gathered together.

"Is President Fu venting his mood on everyone?"

"Probably had a fight with his wife."

"No, that’s not right. The last time his wife slapped him, President Fu still coaxed her."

"Is it really about divorce this time? Please no, after all these years, only his wife can keep our president in check."

"Indeed, with the madam around, we have good days."

...

Han Yang coughed lightly, everyone looked up to see Fu Shiyan striding with his long legs towards the meeting room.

Everyone: Madam, save us!

The certain madam sneezed; she was still shivering under the covers.

Just then, her phone vibrated.

She reached out and took it, it was Mu Boyan.

"Second brother."

"Caught a cold?"

"Yeah, just a minor one, nothing serious."

"Do you have any medicine?"

"No."

"I’ll take you to the hospital to check it out, get some medicine."

"It’s nothing, don’t worry."

Mu Boyan laughed, "If I mention something, you’ll come to the hospital."

An Yan’s eyes widened, "What is it?"

"Yang Suhua woke up."

An Yan suddenly sat up, "Wait for me, I’m coming over now."

Mu Boyan sighed, "Still acting tough while sick, I’ll come to pick you up."

An Yan hopped out of bed, pursed her lips, "I’m not there; I’m at the villa in the eastern suburbs."

"Then send me your location; you can’t drive when you’re groggy from being sick."

An Yan hummed in agreement, "Alright then, I’ll send you my location."

Mu Boyan didn’t ask why An Yan was there, but he sensed that something must have happened between her and Fu Shiyan.

He turned the car around and headed toward the location An Yan had sent.

When An Yan saw Mu Boyan, it was already forty minutes later.

She got into the passenger seat, her eyes curved in a smile, "Second Brother."

Mu Boyan looked at her pale little face, her eyes swollen and red.

"Cried all night?" he raised his hand to her forehead, "Fortunately, you don’t have a fever, but your complexion is too bad. Where’s Fu Shiyan?"

"We had a bit of a quarrel."

"A quarrel during the birthday celebration?" Mu Boyan furrowed his eyebrows, "Little Five, it’s been less than ten days since your last dispute."

An Yan looked down, "Actually, this time it’s quite serious. There’s a trust issue between us."

Mu Boyan, "Is it because of An Yingying again?"

A sigh came from An Yan’s nose, "It’s not just her issue."

"What do you plan to do?"

After a long pause, An Yan uttered two words, "Divorce."

Mu Boyan ruffled her hair, "Little Five, whatever decision you make, your Second Brother supports you. But I hope the decisions you’re making won’t leave you with regrets, understand?"

Her eyes reddened. She dared not look at Mu Boyan, fearing that tears would fall, and she quietly hummed a response.

"Haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?"

"Mmh."

"Second Brother will take you to breakfast."

Mu Boyan pressed down on the gas pedal, speeding toward the city center.

The car stopped in front of a restaurant known for its crab roe buns.

Mu Boyan came back with a tray of crab roe buns and a cup of seafood porridge, "Is this enough?"

"Enough."

"If it’s not enough, Second Brother will buy you more."

"Thank you, Second Brother." Mu Boyan’s eyes were full of sympathy.

An Yan had been separated from them since birth, protected by Xu Zhen until she was five, and then thrown into the countryside.

Fortunately, she was adopted by Elder Bi, or else she would not have turned out as well as she had.

"Eat slowly, we still have a ways to go to the hospital."

An Yan nodded her head.

By the time they arrived at the hospital, An Yan had just finished eating.

The two of them got out of the car, and Mu Boyan noticed some oil stains on An Yan’s mouth, so he took out a tissue to wipe it off for her.

An Yan did not dodge, and they then entered the hospital together.

This scene was captured and sent directly to Fu Shiyan.

An Yingying’s lips curled into a malicious smile, not expecting Mu Boyan to have feelings for An Yan. If he knew she was his biological sister, there would be quite a drama to watch.

Several photos came through on Fu Shiyan’s phone, and when he opened them, he saw a scene that made his pupils contract in shock.

The air in the conference room dropped suddenly as the head of car design stood in front of the large screen, on the verge of tears.

Why always him? Why is it always him every time?

Fu Shiyan, looking at the affectionate pair in the photos, could no longer stay seated and abruptly got up, leaving the conference room.

Han Yang hurriedly followed.

In the hospital room.

Yang Suhua leaned against the head of the bed, giving An Yan and Mu Boyan a cold stare.

"I don’t want to see you."

An Yan spoke coldly, "Actually, I also don’t want to see you, nor do I want to save you."

"Save me?"

An Yan recounted what had happened that day.

Yang Suhua scoffed, "I don’t believe it."

An Yan brought up the surveillance footage for her to see, "This is the surveillance from the day of your incident and from before and after An Yirou’s incident, it’s the same man. I forgot to tell you, Du Xinlan is dead, pushed from a bridge under hypnosis by someone Qianqian hired. Afterwards, that man got crushed in his car by a concrete truck, and there wasn’t even a complete corpse left."

Yang Suhua’s eyes widened incredulously, "Impossible, it couldn’t be Qianqian, this is another trap you’ve set for me to fall into. I won’t be fooled!"

"An Zaili is afraid to die, he confessed the facts about the plot against my mother, Xu Zhen, from those days. He’d rather be imprisoned than killed. Since he went as far as doing that, he knows who did it." An Yan shrugged, "If you don’t tell us, we’ve already guessed, it’s nothing more than replacing one child with another, Mu Yingying is An Yingying, your so-called Qianqian. Now she doesn’t want to be Qianqian, she wants to wipe out the An Family, to eliminate all blood relations to her from this world."

Yang Suhua turned pale, trembling all over; she couldn’t bear to think, nor could she accept that the An family’s child would personally exterminate the An family.

An Yan stood, "My visit today was just to learn the truth of the past from you, but whether you tell it or not doesn’t matter, I too have learned of my own identity. But the difference between your telling and not telling lies in whether or not you get our protection."

Mu Boyan narrowed his eyes at her, "News of your awakening will soon reach An Yingying; now the An family is left with only you and An Zaili, and you’re the easiest to target."

An Yan and Mu Boyan shared a smile as they walked toward the hospital room door.

At that moment, Yang Suhua asked loudly, "Can you guarantee my safety?"
