Chapter 146: Chapter 146: President Fu’s Strong Will to Survive

An Yan took the suit jacket and indeed saw bloodstains splattered on the cuff.

She frowned, could it be that Fu Shiyan got injured last night?

She sniffed it, and there was still a scent of perfume on it.

As she pondered, a figure appeared from around the corner of the staircase.

Fu Shiyan, dressed in sportswear, had obviously gone out for morning exercise.

"Why are you up so early?"

The man moved with a light step, full of vigor.

An Yan pointed to the cuff, "Are you injured? There’s blood on here."

Fu Shiyan directly threw the suit jacket on the ground and said to the servant, "Get rid of it."

"Yes." The servant quickly picked it up and turned to leave.

Fu Shiyan took An Yan’s hand into the room, and as they entered the restroom, he stood behind her, embracing her and carefully washed her hands.

"Last night at the banquet, Gu Han was there. She just happened to be providing psychological counseling for President Qiu’s younger daughter. The glass exploded while we were drinking, and she cut her hand. Han Yang and I took her to the hospital, but I didn’t go in; Han Yang stayed with her the whole time."

Fu Shiyan, with a strong desire to survive, explained quickly.

"You performed quite well." An Yan glanced sideways, "But isn’t it too coincidental for her to be there? She didn’t come especially for you, did she?"

"She probably didn’t."

Fu Shiyan dried her hands, and An Yan turned around with a smile, "Our President Fu has such a strong survival instinct."

"I certainly don’t want you to be upset."

An Yan wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling down and planted a kiss on his face, "Rewarding you with a sweet little kiss."

Fu Shiyan rubbed his nose against hers, "Well then, I won’t be shy." He tilted his head and kissed her.

After a while, the man whispered hot breaths into her ear, "Yanyan, did you have a bad experience last night because you fell asleep?"

"What?" An Yan came back to her senses after a pause, her hands pushing against his chest, "Ever since I’ve been with you, I haven’t had a good night’s sleep."

Fu Shiyan chuckled softly, "My fault, I’ll let you sleep well tonight, okay?"

An Yan gave him a glowering look, "When are we leaving?"

"The banquet starts at noon, and we’ll sign the contract in the afternoon." Fu Shiyan held her hand and walked out, "Let’s have breakfast first, then I’ll take you around."

The breakfast was very sumptuous, with a rectangular table filled with a variety of dishes.

Fu Shiyan filled a plate for her, and An Yan blinked at the food on her plate, "Are you trying to fatten me up for slaughter?"

Fu Shiyan, hand supporting his chin, smiled with a deep meaning, "Remove the words ’for slaughter’. I’m not that bloody, at most a bit colorful."

An Yan glanced at the servants on either side, her face turned crimson, and she glared fiercely at the man, hastily devouring her food from the plate.

After breakfast, Fu Shiyan led her out of the villa. Three asphalt roads led to different places: the garden, Swan Lake, and the mountain.

Ground lights were set up on both sides of each road, and they would be beautiful when lit up at night.

Fu Shiyan took her to the garden first, where large patches of roses of different colors were more stunning than the sea of roses she had seen at the Mu Family.

"It’s so beautiful."

"As long as you like it."

An Yan pointed to the black roses over there, "This variety isn’t available in our country."

"Hmm, I had them airfreighted."

An Yan hugged him, "Younger Uncle, aren’t you afraid you’ll spoil me rotten with all this pampering?"

"I want to spoil you until you’re uncontrollable," Fu Shiyan said, his voice deep and mellow, "Come on, let’s go pick some roses."

The two walked between the rows, and Fu Shiyan used gardening shears to snip different colored roses. He cleaned the thorns from the stems before handing them to An Yan.

An Yan looked down at the roses in her arms, and that feeling of happiness was like being in a dream.

Fu Shiyan also took her to see the swans and the scenic view from the mountain top. After a tour that lasted until almost ten o’clock.

When they returned to their room, five evening gowns were laid out on the bed.

"Which one do you like?" Fu Shiyan asked.

An Yan picked up a white off-shoulder wrap dress, "This one, I guess. It’s dignified and somewhat conservative compared to the other styles."

"I didn’t ask that of you."

"Oh?" An Yan picked up a dress with a small V-neckline, "Then I’ll wear this one."

Fu Shiyan tossed it aside, "The white one suits you, wear this."

An Yan laughed at him for saying one thing and meaning another.

Once she changed into the dress and applied light makeup, fixing her hair, she left the estate with Fu Shiyan.

The banquet was held at a very famous seven-star hotel in the city.

Because word had gotten out that Fu Shiyan would be attending, all the big shots of Xiangcheng had come.

When Fu Shiyan and An Yan appeared at the entrance of the banquet hall, all eyes swiftly turned towards them.

A crowd swarmed around them, exchanging pleasantries.

Knowing An Yan didn’t like such occasions, and not wanting those people’s gaze lingering on her, he had her go to the dessert area for some sweets.

An Yan looked back, seeing that a dense crowd had already surrounded Fu Shiyan.

She made her way to the dessert area, placed her clutch on a nearby table, and picked up a plate of strawberry cake.

She forked a small piece into her mouth, the rich strawberry flavor sweet and lingering.

"An Yan."

An Yan turned her gaze to see Gu Han standing beside her with a smile, "We meet again."

"I didn’t expect to run into you here in Xiangcheng."

"Yes, I came to provide psychological counseling for President Qiu’s daughter. He sought me out twice, so I made some time for it."

An Yan nodded slightly, "How’s your hand?"

"Stitched up with five stitches, still quite painful." Gu Han glanced at the band-aid on her palm; she casually picked up a piece of cake and started eating, "I watched the last press conference, Shiyan really likes you to recognize your relationship publically. I’ve never seen him so concerned or out of control for a woman before, except for the woman in his dreams."

She chuckled, "Sorry, I didn’t mean anything by that. I’m just quite curious. I wonder why he only forgot that woman’s face and things about her. Aren’t you curious?"

An Yan curved her lips slightly, "Everyone has a past. There’s no need for me to fuss over a woman my man can’t even remember, that would just be making things difficult for myself."

The smile on Gu Han’s face stiffened slightly; she hadn’t expected An Yan, not even twenty years old, to be so mature in her thinking, impervious to provocation.

She nodded, "You’re quite right about that."

Just then, a woman in a beige dress started shouting, "My necklace is gone, it was just here! It must have been stolen!"

Seeing An Yan’s clutch, the woman went to grab it.

An Yan’s face darkened, and she set her plate down, striding over.

She grabbed the woman’s hand, "What do you think you’re doing?"

The woman jutted out her chin, "Of course I’m here to check it. My necklace disappeared right over here; who knows if it’s in that bag."

Gu Han stepped forward, "We’ve been chatting here the whole time. Look for your necklace somewhere else."

The woman sniffed, "You must be in cahoots. No, I want to check."

"Do you think just because you want to check, you can?" came a man’s chilly, low voice.

The crowd turned to look, and Fu Shiyan’s fierce aura seemed to cool the air several notches.

The woman clamored loudly, not intimidated in the least, "I don’t care, I need to check."

Fu Shiyan stood in front of the woman, his gaze cold and unsettling, "And if you find nothing?"

"Then I’ll kneel and apologize!"

Fu Shiyan’s voice was frosty, "Check!"

The woman opened An Yan’s bag and her eyes lit up. She pulled out a red cat’s eye stone pendant necklace.

Holding the necklace, she swayed it in front of Fu Shiyan, "See, this is my necklace."

All of a sudden, a buzzing noise filled Fu Shiyan’s head and it seemed a woman in a red dress flashed before his eyes.
