Chapter 1867: Destruction of the Essence Wilderness World’s Will Pt.2
In the past, with Qin Ming’s command, a floating landmass roughly the size of a Spirit World was maintained in the depths of the Nebula Forbidden Region. Its purpose was to nurture the remnants of the Essence Wilderness World’s Will and preserve the scattered soul of Sage Jin.
But despite the assembly of the floating landmass, it remained inherently fragile. The foundation of its defensive formation, which covered it entirely, was maintained through the final remnants of the Essence Wilderness World’s Will.
The problem was, both Qin Ming and Sage Jin were currently deep within the Forbidden Zone. To avoid becoming lost, Qin Ming had to rely on the guidance of the Essence Frontier Heavenly Field, while Sage Jin could only depend on the residual Essence Wilderness World’s Will.
In other words... The only assistance Sage Jin was tapping into was being consumed rapidly.
Under such circumstances, the defensive formation that was also relying on the remnant World’s Will was critically weakened.
That was exactly the vulnerability Shang Xia had been waiting for. He chose that moment to launch a direct assault to force a swift resolution.
Everything played out just as he had anticipated. Once the moment he drained most of the world origin contained in the landmass, even with dozens of Martial Dipper Realm and Martial Void Realm experts doing their best to defend the formation, they couldn’t withstand a single strike from Shang Xia’s Shattered Starry Skies.
At least half of those cultivators were sent flying with blood spraying from their mouths the moment the barrier collapsed. More than 10 were caught too close to the blast zone and died on the spot.
The rest fled in all directions. A few, confused or still defiant, ran straight at Shang Xia and were casually killed by him as they approached.
Just as Shang Xia stepped foot onto the floating landmass, Su Chi’s voice came from within the Cloud Rune Stone Mysterious World. “So it’s true, they actually built this place as if it were a new world. The cultivators of the Essence Frontier Heavenly Field must still be somewhat suppressed by the remnant World’s Will.”
Shang Xia responded sharply, “Enough talk. Find the World Origin Source where world origin is the most concentrated!”
After he spoke, he slapped the Cloud Rune Stone Mysterious World on his waist. A crystal jar that housed Su Chi’s soul rose into the air and a dozen spacks emerged from it. It flew in all directions from the landmass.
Shang Xia frowned. “Are they really trying to patch together this place to make a Spirit World?”
He could have located the World Origin Source himself, but after breaking through the formation, he needed to suppress the World’s Will immediately. The goal was to sever its connection with Sage Jin.
Su Chi, after all, was a native of the Essence Wilderness World just like Sage Jin. He wasn’t rejected by the World’s Will. In fact, he was cherished by it. In many ways, Su Chi’s devotion to his world had surpassed Jin’s.
As expected, in just a few moments, most of the sparks returned.
Su Chi’s voice rang in his mind. “Found it!”
Shang Xia immediately set out in the direction Su Chi indicated, soon arriving above a massive basin-shaped section of the floating landmass. It was clear that the basin had formed due to the way several landmasses had been pieced together.
From his position, Shang Xia could clearly sense the gathering of world origin beneath him. Several small and medium Star Ships hovered above it.
At that moment, he suddenly remembered something he had overlooked. He immediately separated a clone and sent him after the fleeing experts.
“This is definitely a place where world origin is gathered,” Shang Xia muttered, “But Sage Jin’s soul isn’t anchored here.”
As he spoke, he noted how the Crimson Soul Tablet showed little interest in the Essence Wilderness World’s remaining world origin. Clearly, the tablet no longer desired world origin from Essence Worlds.
Without needing further instruction, Su Chi already moved his crystal jar above the basin.
What was once no larger than a fishbowl had now grown to a 60-feet-tall, 90-feet-wide vessel. The flame inside had grown from a bean-sized flicker to a massive candle that illuminated the skies.
As the flame roared and danced, the residual world origin in the jar started to spin, forming a vortex.
World origin that gathered below poured into the vessel in an endless stream.
When Shang Xia had first found the Origin Holy Artifact, it held less than a third of its capacity. Now, it rapidly filled to nearly half its capacity.
But as it passed the two-thirds mark, the vessel began to tremble. It seemed to reach the limits of what Su Chi could control. The structure swayed unsteadily in the air.
Su Chi quickly called out for help. Shang Xia chuckled softly before grabbing the vessel. With his assistance, the gathering speed doubled.
As the World Origin Source below ran dry, the basin began to collapse. Every single floating island started to crumble with the loss of the world origin that supported them.
From within the vessel, Su Chi’s flame let out a soft, sorrowful sigh.
For better or worse, this sprawling landmass assembled from dozens of floating islands had been a part of the Essence Wilderness World.
With its last origin drained, the world was truly dead, and Su Chi was the one who buried it.
Soon, Shang Xia chuckled softly in explanation, “Of course. A sly old fox like Qin Ming wouldn’t give up his bargaining chip so easily. I’d wager that even Sage Jin doesn’t realize his soul and part of the world’s remaining essence is hidden by Qin Ming aboard a Spirit Ark.”
By then, the Origin Holy Artifact was 90 percent filled.
This level of saturation was rarely seen even in Origin Holy Artifacts in Elysiums.
By Shang Xia’s estimate, it held enough to support a continent spanning 10,000 miles.
Su Chi was stunned when he heard Shang Xia. “There’s a Spirit Ark here too?”
Shang Xia nodded with a smile. “Let’s go take a look. We almost let them get away."
