Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Chaos Reigns

[3rd POV]

While Gwen was teleporting off to find Terra, the Holy Home planet of the Imperium. The planet in question was...not doing well. A large scale invasion was currently underway, the planet was being besieged by the forces of Chaos, led by the Chaos Marines and their Primarchs, the great primarchs, sons of the Emperor of Mankind that rebelled against him during the "Horus Heresy".

It was this rebellion that led to the injuries that ail the Emperor, and it was these injuries that were causing him to be restricted to the Golden Throne, weakened to the point that he cannot leave the throne without dying almost immediately.

The first of the Chaos Marine Primarchs that was present on Terra, slaughtering soldiers of the Imperium was Fulgrim. The 3rd Legion, and the Primarchs in charge of the Chaos Marine Legion known as "The Emperor’s Children". He was once a son of the Emperor who was dedicated to the pursuit of perfection in all forms.

It was this same dedication, this same...obsession that had led to him eventually falling, becoming what he was now. A Daemon Prince of the God of Excess, Slaanesh. A man that was no longer a man, a...monster, a loyal servant of his God.

A man that would die by Gwen’s hand, the second she was able.

The next of the invaders, the next of the Primarchs that was corrupted by Chaos, was the man known as Perturabo known as the "Lord of Iron" , a powerful man that was skilled in the usage of technological arcana. He utilized mathematics of warfare and logic. He was also the man that had slaughtered an entire population and had killed a lot of innocents beyond that, and had been a part of the Drop Site Massacre, a notorious incident.

This man was the Primarch of the "Iron Warriors" and was a Daemon Prince, but unlike Fulgrim, he was not turned by a single Chaos God nor was he loyal to a single one. Instead he was a part of the "Chaos Undivided" which meant he just worshipped and followed...chaos, pure chaos, all four of the Chaos Gods at once.

He was a dangerous man, and just like Fulgrim, would die by Gwen’s hands the second she could kill him. He had to, each and every single one of the chaos legions and their primarchs would die, just as their Gods would as well. Gwen would be making certain of that, as she would be doing it herself.

The next was Angron, the "Red Angel" a follower of Khorne, and the primarch of the World Eaters Traitor Legion. He was a particularly...brutal part of the Chaos Legions, and likely the most aggressive of the bunch, as even before becoming a Daemon Prince of Khorne, he was...not exactly the most stable. He was considered the most blood handed and savage of the primarchs even when not claimed by Chaos.

After that was Mortarion who was known as the Pale King, who was the Daemon Prince of Nurgle. He was in command of the Death Guard, the chaos space legion that was now "Plague Marines".

Then there is Magnus the Red, known as the Crimson King. A man that is in charge of the Thousand Sons traitor Legion, and the Daemon Prince of the Chaos God Tzeentch. He was a particularly dangerous one due to his powerful psychic ability, making him a powerful "Sorcerer". It was because of his desire to learn everything about the Warp, to learn how to control it, that he was chosen by Tzeentch.

The last of them was perhaps the most important of them. The one that fell first to the corruption of Chaos, and was likely the one who began to the corruption of the others. The man known as Lorgar and the "Urizen". The primarch of the Word Bearers Legion, and Daemon Prince of Chaos Undivided.

And of course, the Warmaster himself, the Warmaster of Chaos, Ezekiel Abaddon, the former first captain of the Sons of Horus Chaos Legion, and the biggest threat of them all thanks to his intelligence and being blessed by all four of the Chaos Gods.

There were also Greater Daemons, Lesser Daemons, and basically anything that was a part of the Chaos Gods factions, slaughtering their way through Terra, killing everyone who gets in their way.

Their target?

The Emperor of Mankind, more specifically, his body, or the remains of it at least.

The forces of the Imperium were flooding in in order to stop the invasion, to fight back against the oncoming storm of Chaos, but it was...not going well. Besides the massive siege on the planet itself, there were also blockades from the Chaos Fleet, blocking them with their massive ships that tended to be superior in design and power.

The Primarchs were trying their best to reach Terra, but it was...not going well. A coordinated effort was being undergone by all Chaos Marines, all working in tandem in order to stop the reinforcements from arriving, and stalling until they can break into the Imperial Palace and finally end the life of the one person who was keeping the Empire running.

Said Emperor was trying his best to force them off his lands, to rid the world of the scourge, but the Chaos Gods themselves were extending their power in order to block his attempts. Not to mention the sheer onslaught of chaotic forces and the amount that was continuing to try and break through, there wasn’t much he was able to do, not at the moment.

If something didn’t change soon, then the forces would eventually break into the Holy Palace, and then? Then it would be up to the Astra Custodes, the Imperial Guard that protected the Emperor and his Golden Throne in which he sat upon. Different from the Imperial Army, and the best soldiers in the entire Empire.

Gwen could hear the cries of the humans around the galaxy as they were being torn apart by the forces of Chaos, and in some cases, the Xenos, like the Tyranids. She could feel as thousands died on Terra, every second more and more of them dying, being ripped apart as the forces of Terra tried their damndest to fight back, to stop the annihilation of their Holy home planet.

As Gwen grew closer to the planet, and spreading her senses in order to figure out the extent of the siege, she let out a sigh. She could tell that this would be a...difficult one, there were millions of daemons on the planet, hundreds of millions. And the number was consistently rising. There were also the ships outside of the planet, and everything else.

It was...not a good sight.

’This...is going to be a lot more difficult than I initially thought. Even if I manage to talk with the Emperor and make some sort of plan...this will be hard’ Gwen thought, as her power was...immense, but this would be difficult for her. She would need to make tens of thousands of clones in order to wipe out the hundreds of millions of daemons that were surging throughout the planet.

She spread her senses even farther, breathing out as she felt the Eye of Terror and the other Warp Rifts throughout the Galaxy. She could feel the chaos within them, the overwhelming darkness.

’...Yeah I’m going to need to make a plan if I want to deal with...any of that’ Gwen thought, sensing the power within it, and with that, she knew that the Chaos Gods would be...difficult to deal with. She would kill and absorb them, but she had to kill at least one of them in order to do that, and finding which one would be...hard.

She would just need to speak with the Emperor of Mankind first, and then she would deal with the invasion and then after that would come the important part. But for now...she had a more important thing to do.

’...It’s time to speak with the Emperor of Mankind...lets hope this goes well’
