Chapter 83: Reunion

"Oh, of course. The paternity test results show that the DNA are a match".

Mo Li let out a gasp.

"A_are you a hundred percent sure?" she asked with a shaky voice.

"Yes, of course madam. I am a hundred percent sure you can rest assured" replied the doctor in a serious tone.

Mo Li couldn’t even process his words for a moment. The child whom she thought she had lost, whom she mourned almost every day secretly was alive and well.

She wanted to hug him so badly but hesitated as she remembered how she had just treated him as an impersonator.

Reaper was also looking at Mo Li. He was trying to gauge her reaction to the doctor’s words. He was unsure at first as Mo Li’s face showed a multitude of emotions upon hearing the news but then he was relieved as Mo Li’s face was full of longing and love.

He looked at her outstretched hand which was just hanging there hesitantly and took a step forward in her direction.

"Mom" he called out in a voice which sounded a little pitiful like a puppy waiting for pats.

As soon as Mo Li heard Reaper calling her ’mom’, she broke down. She closed the distance between them immediately and started crying as she hugged him.

Reaper was also holding back his tears. Mo Li was shorter than him even with heels on so he took her in his arms and tried to comfort her even though he had little to no idea on how to. He just resigned to patting her on the back and repeating "it’s ok".

Mo Chou watched everything from the side, happy for both of them.

It took a long time for Mo Li to calm down. Mo Chou had already sent the doctor away early on.

After Mo Li calmed down, all of them sat down. Mo Li didn’t let go of Reaper’s hand and Reaper was also more than happy to cooperate with her.

Mo Li had a lot of questions to ask Reaper. Reaper answered her questions patiently one by one. Of course he didn’t give her the truth as it was too complicated. He gave her the version that he and Mo Chou had agreed on beforehand.

Mo Li believed him completely. Although what he said did sound a little absurd, she was just happy that he was alive. By the time they finished talking, it was already pretty late.

Neither Mo Li nor Reaper wanted to part yet. Mo Li also wanted to introduce Reaper to Liu Qiang and Liu Dai. She actually wanted to ask Reaper to stay with them at the Liu mansion but she knew that it was too hasty as Liu Qiang and Liu Dai didn’t even know about him.

Liu Qiang did know that she had lost a child before but that was it. Mo Li didn’t want to give him the details and Liu Qiang also didn’t insist, respecting her decision.

Mo Li was a little nervous regarding their reactions but she knew them well enough that they would eventually accept it.

Still holding on to Reaper’s hands, Mo Li asked him, "Do you want to go with us for dinner"?

Reaper couldn’t say no to her hopeful expression and as he didn’t want to part with her just yet, he agreed. He was also quite curious about the Liu family as Mo Chou had praised them before. He took a look at Mo Chou and saw her small nod signalling that he should go with them.

During the car ride to the Liu mansion, Mo Li told Reaper all about Liu Qiang and Liu Dai so that he would not get intimidated when he met them.

In Mo Li’s eyes, Reaper was still her precious little boy who had suffered a lot.

Reaper also listened to everything with rapt attention. He was thankful that Liu Qiang and Liu Dai treated Mo Chou and Mo Li well, perhaps he would get along well with them but it was still a far stretch for him to consider them his family like Mo Li hoped.

When they reached the Liu mansion, they were told by the butler that Liu Qiang and Liu Dai had yet to return from work. Mo Li instructed the chef and maids to make a grand meal and everyone sat down together in the living room.

The atmosphere was very relaxed. The butler and maids just thought that Reaper was a guest so no one was overly curious. The maids were even secretly whispering about the young handsome new guest.

About twenty minutes later, the door opened and Liu Qiang along with Liu Dai entered the living room. They seemed to be discussing something important and looked serious.

Mo Li let out a fake cough to catch their attention.

"Ohh, hi honey, how was your day?" Liu Qiang asked immediately upon seeing Mo Li but Liu Dai’s attention on the other hand was on Reaper.

"It seems we have a guest over," said Liu Dai.

"Ohh, he’s not a guest. He’s my son" Mo Li said in a happy tone.

Both Liu Dai and Liu Qiang were stumped upon hearing her words.

"Son?"

"I thought you lost your child. Are you sure you are not being tricked?" questioned Liu Qiang as he knew a little about Reaper.

"Yes, I am a hundred percent sure. I already did a DNA test and everything" Mo Li answered hurriedly as she didn’t want Reaper to get sad because of Liu Qiang’s words.

Liu Dai was silent the whole time. Instead of saying anything, he was silently analyzing Reaper from his expressions to his body language.

He didn’t really find anything out of the ordinary but he was still wary of him.

After hearing Mo Li’s words, Liu Qiang was a little more relaxed. He still wanted to know the whole story but when he saw that his wife was happy, he decided to just accept it.

Although Mo Li thought he was clueless, Liu Qiang already knew that Mo Li mourned her first child every single day. As long as Reaper didn’t have any bad intentions, Liu Qiang was happy to accept him, even as a part of the family.

"Ohh, it seems like dinner is ready. Let’s go eat first. I feel quite hungry" Mo Li told everyone hoping that the atmosphere would ease up once everyone started eating.

"Yeah, I’m pretty hungry too. Let’s go" Mo Chou said with the same thought.

Everyone entered the dining room. Mo Chou was about to sit on her chair and Liu Dai and Reaper both grabbed the back of her chair at the same time to pull it back.

Mo Chou watched helplessly as Liu Dai and Reaper stared at one another. She could feel electricity in the air.

’Sigh, hope they get along’.
