Chapter 43: Ghost!!!

Butler Xue and two maids were heading towards the guest room on the third floor. The maids had heard screaming and gone to call the butler to investigate it. Since they were pretty sure that they had heard the scream from the third floor, they had informed the butler and headed there together in case the new guest needed help or was in trouble.

Mo Chou was right behind them and caught up quickly. Butler Xue and the maids were concerned about An Daiyu, so they didn’t even notice when Mo Chou joined them.

When they reached the third floor, everyone gathered in front of the guest room. Butler Xue first knocked on the door but there was no answer.

They waited for a minute and butler Xue knocked again but this time it was louder. Upon still hearing no response, Butler Xue asked in a loud voice whether An Daiyu was all right and knocked on the door again. "Should I inform the master?" asked one of the maids, seeing that there was no response from An Daiyu and something might be truly wrong after all.

"No need to call my parents, just get the spare key of the room and open it", Mo Chou interfered when she heard that they were thinking of calling her parents as she didn’t want to disturb her parents over someone like An Daiyu.

The butler and the maids saw that Mo Chou was actually right behind them and were surprised. "Oh ok miss" answered the butler and went to fetch the spare key. After Butler Xue came back with the spare key, he used it to unlock the door and everyone piled inside. The maids and the butler were shocked when they saw the messy room. ’I didn’t think Miss An was such a messy person’.

Everyone looked around but An Daiyu was nowhere to be found. "She must be in the bathroom, what should we do?" asked one of the maids. The butler also couldn’t decide what to do, so he turned to Mo Chou, "What should we do miss?"

"You two should go and check if An Daiyu is alright, she is a girl after all" said Mo Chou pointing at the two maids.

The maids headed to the bathroom door and opened it as it wasn’t locked. They entered and one of the maids immediately screamed. "Ahh, call the ambulance, miss An is covered in blood and has fainted" said the other maid.

Butler Xue immediately took out his phone and started calling but Mo Chou stopped him, she didn’t want the ambulance to come and alert everyone, so instead she said, "let me go see the situation first, I’ll tell you what to do after I check it out".

The butler could only stop and wait as Mo Chou went inside the bathroom but he still felt that he should inform someone and sent a text to Liu Dai as An Daiyu was his ’fiance’ after all.

Mo Chou entered the bathroom and looked at An Daiyu. One of the maids had considerably covered her up with a towel as An Daiyu had been completely naked. She looked like a sorry sight with ’blood’ all over her. Half of her body was inside the shower cubicle while the other half was outside.

As the shower was still on, her feet were getting drenched but thankfully the water was back to normal now as all the paint had already flowed out. The maids were just standing beside An Daiyu’s unconscious body panicking over what to do. They didn’t dare move her in case she got more ’injured’.

Mo Chou walked to the sink and took some water in a cup that was there and then splashed it on An Daiyu’s face. The maids gasped in shock seeing Mo Chou’s actions but An Daiyu actually woke up. She seemed to be in shock and kept crying. The maids saw that An Daiyu was awake and hurriedly helped her up. After a while, An Daiyu calmed down and finally came to her senses.

An Daiyu looked at her partially covered form covered in ’blood’ and was horrified. She saw the maids comforting her and yelled "get out" like a maniac. When the maids heard An Daiyu yelling, they were in shock. They didn’t know if they should leave An Daiyu who was acting like a mad woman. "Let’s go, she seems to be fine. We will wait for her in the room" said Mo Chou helpfully. The maids followed Mo Chou and exited the bathroom.

Outside the bathroom, Butler Xue and Liu Dai were talking. Mo Chou wasn’t really surprised seeing Liu Dai there as she had guessed that the butler would probably call someone anyway.

"What happened to her?" Liu Dai asked Mo Chou upon seeing her exit the bathroom. "I don’t know exactly but it must not be too severe seeing that she had the energy to yell at everyone to get out".

"Let’s wait for her to come out of the bathroom first," added Mo Chou. The butler wanted to call the doctor but seeing Liu Dai nod his head, he kept quiet ’I guess we can call the doctor later’.

Everyone waited for An Daiyu to come out of the bathroom but she seemed to be taking a lot of time.

An Daiyu had fully gained her wits and had started thinking about what had just happened. Looking at the ’blood’ on her in the mirror and the clear water coming out of the shower head, she wondered if the mansion was haunted. Even though An Daiyu didn’t believe in things such as ghosts, she was still a little scared.

An Daiyu knew that there were people in the guest room and didn’t want to show herself in a sorry state but she was hesitant to use the shower again. Thinking about how Liu Dai might also be outside, she finally gritted her teeth and entered the shower cubicle.

An Daiyu spent a lot of time cleaning the ’blood’ off of her. She put on her clothes and looked at herself in the mirror. She then started putting on her make-up and fixing her hair. ’I have to look my best when I see Liu Dai’ she thought, not knowing that everyone outside was getting annoyed because they had been waiting for a long time.

They could hear the shower and the drawers being opened from the guest room but didn’t have any idea what An Daiyu was up to.

Finally, the door opened and An Daiyu came out of the bathroom. She looked like she had cried with a red nose and under eye but Mo Chou could tell that An Daiyu had put on makeup to look like that. ’Pretty clever’ thought Mo Chou gave her an imaginary thumbs-up.

An Daiyu scanned the room and saw Liu Dai. She immediately started crying crocodile tears and tried to lean into his arms but Liu Dai dodged her just in time making her stumble and almost hit her nose on the wall.

An Daiyu pouted and looked at Liu Dai in an aggrieved manner which made Liu Dai feel disgusted inside. Mo Chou watched the act and wished that she had brought popcorn with her.

"What happened? The maids said that you were covered in blood but you seem completely fine and uninjured" asked Liu Dai.

Thinking about the creepy laughter, flickering lights and the ’blood’ pouring out of the shower head, An Daiyu started crying for real. She told them how the mansion was haunted and that a ghost had targeted her. Everyone aside from Mo Chou was dumbfounded. A ghost? Inside the mansion?

Nobody present there believed in supernatural things like ghosts and hearing that there was one inside the mansion was a little shocking.

Liu Dai obviously didn’t believe it at all, he even thought that An Daiyu might have faked the whole thing to get everyone’s attention. Still, as it had happened inside the mansion, he got the butler to call two guards to investigate the scene.

The two guards arrived and first opened the shower head but there was no trace of any ’blood’. There was still the towel which had covered An Daiyu and after checking it, they informed Liu Dai that it was just some color.

They checked the whole bathroom next but didn’t find anything out of the ordinary. After they informed Liu Dai that everything was normal, Liu Dai became even more convinced that An Daiyu was putting on an act and his gaze towards her got cold.

An Daiyu also heard that there was nothing out of the ordinary inside the bathroom but she was even more sure that it was a ghost which was haunting her. She was quite scared and demanded a different room. She even wanted a room beside Liu Dai’s but Liu Dai coldly rejected her and said that all the rooms were occupied and she could just stay at a hotel if she didn’t want her current room.

An Daiyu was very angry but she pretended to be obedient and agreed. Liu Dai told everyone to leave and left as well. Mo Chou was pretty happy as she went to her room as she had gotten the result she wanted.

That night, An Daiyu had multiple nightmares and kept waking up with cold sweat. She had finally fallen asleep at three o’clock when she felt something brush past her feet. She opened her eyes only to see two creepy green eyes right in front of her face and directly fainted.
