Chapter 41: Mischievous rabbit

The next day was the weekend. Mo Chou wanted to install all the spy gadgets that she had bought the day before but she couldn’t do so when An Daiyu was present. She was wondering how to send An Daiyu out of the mansion as she headed to the dining room for breakfast.

In the dining room, Liu Dai and An Daiyu were sitting together in the same seats as the previous day. Liu Dai had missed dinner the day before, so he had gone to the dining room early but he had forgotten about the fact that An Daiyu was in the mansion too.

An Daiyu didn’t know when everyone would have breakfast, so she had asked a maid and went to the dining room earlier on purpose so that they would not be able to eat without her. She was delighted to see Liu Dai alone in the dining room and naturally took the seat beside him. She had been enthusiastically chatting with him even though the ’chat’ was just An Daiyu talking and Liu Dai listening absentmindedly.

When Mo Chou entered the dining room, Liu Dai immediately felt like his savior had arrived. He wished her a good morning and asked her how her sleep was and all completely ignoring An Daiyu.

Mo Chou felt a little amused but decided to help her brother out. There were not any seats beside him, so she sat on the seat opposite facing him and started talking to him. An Daiyu wanted to interrupt them like the previous day but both Mo Chou and Liu Dai ignored her and acted as if she wasn’t in the room.

An Daiyu gritted her teeth and looked at Mo Chou with hatred, ’let’s see how long you can be happy for’. Mo Chou didn’t mind An Daiyu’s malicious gaze. In her opinion, even if An Daiyu was the real ’female lead’, she was still too much of an amateur if she wanted to go head to head with Mo Chou.

For an experienced assassin, these kinds of petty fights were nothing more than entertainment material.

Soon Mo Li and Liu Qiang also joined them but what was surprising was that Liu Qiang was actually on a wheelchair. ’Hadn’t he have started using crutches already’ thought Mo Chou and Liu Dai. Before they asked, An Daiyu started putting on a grand act and hurried towards Liu Qiang. She asked him if he was alright with great ’concern’ and even took over the wheelchair from Mo Li, pushing it into the dining room.

Everyone was speechless with her shameless act. After she pushed the chair to Liu Qiang’s usual spot on the dining table, An Daiyu even wanted to sit with him to continue her act but Liu Qiang said that she should return to her seat.

Looking at Liu Qiang’s dark face, An Daiyu realized that she might have gone overboard, so she pretended to be obedient and returned to the seat beside Liu Dai. Mo Li took her place beside Liu Qiang with a normal expression, but even she was annoyed.

Mo Chou was done with An Daiyu and decided that she would teach her a lesson so that she would behave herself a little.

Breakfast was a silent affair as nobody aside from An Daiyu wanted to speak and An Daiyu also kept quiet after not receiving any attention from anyone.

After breakfast was done, Mo Chou was brainstorming on how to send An Daiyu elsewhere when An Daiyu herself announced that she was going to visit one of friends from high school who lived in the city. This obviously was a good thing for Mo Chou but she also wondered if An Daiyu was really visiting her so-called school friend or someone else.

It was quite easy to find out as she just had to go through An Daiyu’s recent texts. Mo Chou found that An Daiyu was not going to visit her school friend but her friends from university who had come there on a vacation trip after hearing that An Daiyu was moving there.

Actually, An Daiyu had convinced them to take this trip so that she could get access to all the ’stuff’ she had been craving.

After about an hour, Mo Chou watched as An Daiyu walked out of the mansion door all dressed up with face full of makeup.

Mo Chou then took all the equipment and sneaked to the third floor where the guest room was located. The maids only went there to clean once in a while as none of Mo Chou’s family lived on the third floor. So Mo Chou didn’t have to be overly careful about being seen. She arrived on the third floor and took two hidden cameras and set them up outside An Daiyu’s room. She then wanted to enter An Daiyu’s room but found that it was locked, but it was not a problem for her.

Mo Chou always had hair clips on her head in case they would come handy like today, she took one of her hair pins and bent it, shaping it into a lock pick. After about twenty seconds, the door opened and Mo Chou entered the room. She closed the door behind her just in case and started looking around.

The guest room was the same aside from An Daiyu’s stuff placed haphazardly everywhere. The closet door was open and half of her clothes were hanging outside. There was a dressing table in the room where makeup was spilled and even clumps of hair on the hair brush. ’What a pig’ thought Mo Chou as she looked at the messy room.

Mo Chou looked around to see if she could find anything as she was a little doubtful regarding An Daiyu’s identity. She found a folder which consisted of An Daiyu’s personal documents but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

She even found a picture of An Daiyu’s younger self, it was a group photo with some students and teachers in high school and like before there was nothing wrong with it. An Daiyu did look different in the picture though, she looked like a bright and intelligent girl unlike the current ’An Daiyu’.

’Is it really another soul inhabiting An Daiyu’s body?’ wondered Mo Chou.

Mo Chou searched a little more and found a small diary under An Daiyu’s pillow. She opened it curiously and saw that the pages were actually full of names. Upon closer inspection, she found that they were her family’s names. There was a cross on her and Mo Li’s names. Liu Dai’s name had a massive circle while Liu Qiang’s name had a small tick mark. There was even her grandfather’s name with a tick mark.

Mo Chou turned the page and read the names there. What shocked her was that this page was full of names of significant characters in the novel and even ’Lu Jinhai’ was there with a question mark next to his name.

’I don’t think this is my Lu Jinhai, probably the main villain’.

After shifting through the diary which contained symbols and names, Mo Chou felt ninety five percent sure that this ’An Daiyu’ had reincarnated like herself. This could actually be troublesome for herself if she wanted to deal with ’An Daiyu’.

’Should I just kill her?’ She thought but rejected the idea. Even in her previous life, Mo Chou wouldn’t kill someone unless they deserved it and An Daiyu hadn’t really done anything yet that made her want to take her life.

She put the notebook back and started setting up the voice bug that she had bought. ’I’ll just monitor her first to see her intentions’.

Soon, Mo Chou was done. She was confident that nobody aside from herself would notice the voice bug let alone find it. She was about to leave the room when she suddenly thought of something.

’Didn’t I want to teach her a lesson? This is my chance’.

Mo Chou wondered what she should do and thought of something. ’I’m simply a genius’ she thought mischievously. In order for her plan to work, Mo Chou needed some stuff. She exited the guest room quickly and locked it.

Mo Chou got some red color which was soluble in water and used for painting and a mini speaker. Then she sneaked back into the guest room and entered the joint bathroom. She then opened the shower head and put the red color in it, even stuffing it into the pipes. She put the speaker inside the vents in the bathroom.

’We probably don’t have any Halloween decorations or it would have been perfect’.

Still she decided that she would make it more ’fun’ by controlling the lights later when her plan was in motion.

After Mo Chou was done with everything, she happily headed to her room. Now, she just had to wait for the right moment and enjoy the show.

While someone was having fun, Lu Jinhai was feeling gloomy. He hadn’t slept the previous night and was even being ’ignored’.

’I’ll make the little rabbit regret ignoring me’.
