Chapter 33: Game over

After Lu Jinhai cleaned Mo Chou’s hand and treated it, they headed towards the cafeteria. They were both silent but it was not awkward at all. Mo Chou was wondering if she should tell him about the little accident that caused her palms to be scrapped but since Lu Jinhai hadn’t asked her twice. ’I don’t want him to get worried anyway’.

They arrived at their usual seat where Li Chen and Huang Chunhua were waiting for them. Huang Chunhua was about to say something to Mo Chou but Li Chen nudged her and she kept quiet.

Lu Jinhai looked at them and they both looked away. Lu Jinhai just looked at them with a normal expression, but they couldn’t help but feel scared.

Just then, the girls who usually sat with them arrived and the table was lively again. Everyone was talking about the stuff they did on the weekend. Mo Chou and her friends were also pulled into the conversation while Lu Jinhai ate quietly.

The rest of the classes passed quickly. Lu Jinhai stayed quiet and didn’t speak unless Mo Chou talked to him. When all the classes ended, Mo Chou was wondering how to cheer him up when she remembered that she had gotten him presents, she didn’t want to give them to him in the hallways so she dragged him towards an empty classroom.

She took out both the presents and handed them to him. Lu Jinhai had the same expression of disbelief that Liu Dai and Liu Qiang had when she handed them their presents.

Mo Chou just said, "don’t think too much about it, it’s just a return gift" but her red ears betrayed her. Lu Jinhai finally gave a big smile which stunned Mo Chou. He had never smiled like that before, ’ohh, I’m going to have a nosebleed’ she thought.

Lu Jinhai just said "thank you" and kept the gifts. His gloominess had vanished completely. Mo Chou said that it was the time to head home and walked out of the classroom hurriedly. Lu Jinhai naturally followed her and sent her to the entrance where her driver was already waiting for her.

Mo Chou bade farewell and got into the car. After they drove away, Mo Chou heaved a sigh of relief.

Lu Jinhai stayed and stared at the car until it couldn’t be seen anymore. ’She is really turning more and more into a little rabbit’.

Mo Chou reached home and greeted her parents who were in the living room watching a movie. Since Liu Qiang was injured, he had given himself a break, only attending the important matters from time to time from home. He could not take a break completely though, because he was the chairman of the company after all.

But he was still enjoying his break to the fullest as even though he and Mo Li went travelling a lot before, he would still be swamped with work or have to attend some event.

Mo Li was also naturally very happy. Mo Chou didn’t want to disturb them too much so even though they asked her if she wanted to watch the movie together, she denied. She wanted to do something so she went to her room after agreeing to have dinner together.

Mo Chou wanted to destroy Shen Xue and make her unable to come back. She didn’t know if the principal had handed her to the authorities as he wouldn’t want to harm the reputation of the University any further.

Previously, Zhou Lili had succeeded in her antics previously and had even been sent to jail. The principal wouldn’t want the same thing to repeat so soon.

It didn’t matter to Mo Chou as she could take care of Shen Xue without sending her to jail. Looking at Shen Xue’s character, her parents were probably not good either.

Mo Chou felt that it was a little strange as they had declared bankruptcy really quickly and usually a company would try to redeem themselves and at least wait for a week before giving up.

Mo Chou thought of her mysterious helper but rejected the idea as she didn’t think that they would go to that extent just to help her take revenge. ’I guess it’s karma’ she thought. It was actually nice that she didn’t have to waste any time on the matter anymore as she hadn’t gotten any exercise lately even though she had promised herself that she would not skip it no matter what.

Hence, Mo Chou started to work out and strengthen her body.

Liu Dai was a little concerned about his sister. He had actually been called by the principal to the university earlier to talk about the incident that occurred in the morning. Liu Dai hadn’t immediately gone to check on Mo Chou because the principal had assured him multiple times that she was completely fine and had also told him that Mo Chou didn’t want to concern her family.

When he heard about the full thing, he was furious, "Do they think that they can easily bully someone from my family and escape unharmed?"

The principal had told him how he had expelled both Shen Xue and the girl but it wasn’t enough for Liu Dai. He went back to his office and ordered his secretary to use all their connections to destroy Shen Xue’s father’s company.

He had published all their dirty deeds and finally calmed down. He was wondering if he should also make them totally bankrupt when the company actually declared bankruptcy themselves. Later, he even found that Shen Xue’s father had been arrested for molesting some underage girls.

Liu Dai also wondered if someone was helping him secretly, he didn’t really need anyone’s help but he had already vented his anger so it was fine.

The one who had gotten Shen Xue’s father arrested and made them directly declare bankruptcy was obviously Lu Jinhai. When he reached his office and found out about everything through his connections, he had wanted to chop Shen Xue into pieces. He took action personally but saw that his ’future brother in law’ had beat him to it.

Lu Jinhai still wanted to take it one step further so he had made them bankrupt and had Huo Zhai dig up Shen Xue’s father’s personal matters and get him arrested.

After everything was done, he finally had the time to open the presents that Mo Chou had gotten him. He unwrapped each one with care. He first saw the watch and immediately put it on.

Next was the tie clutch, he also wanted to put it on immediately but he wasn’t wearing a tie. He had to dress up as a University student after all. Still, he quickly took pictures of the watch and tie clutch and posted it on his moments for everyone to see. He even unblocked everyone he had blocked previously because he had found them annoying so that they could see it too.

Mo Chou finished exercising and looked at the time. There was still some time left before dinner, so she decided to play some games. It had been some time since she last played and she had quite enjoyed gaming previously. There was a specific game called ’BloodXSurge’ which had become popular recently which Mo Chou had been wanting to play.

She created an account for herself and started playing. As usual, she was slow at first and kept dying but after getting a hang of things she became faster and faster. She was playing with some newbies at first but quickly left them dazzled with her progress. After continuously leveling up till level twenty, she looked at the time and decided to head to the kitchen to have dinner.

Min Gui looked at Lu Jinhai’s story later that day and immediately called him to inquire about it but couldn’t get anything out of him. He felt angry at first but thought about how he was Lu Jinhai’s only close friend and consoled himself.

’Forget it, I’ll definitely force the truth out of him the next time I see him’
