Chapter 936: Tarot card (20)
Several doctors listened to Ye Shaohua’s words, alternating between contemplation and nodding, their expressions thoughtful.
After Ye Shaohua had finished speaking, she too felt a hint of surprise; the molecular formulas and medical knowledge she spoke of had surpassed what should be available in modern times.
The doctors, who had initially been paying attention casually, suddenly came to a realization during the meeting they later attended together, following Ye Shaohua’s line of thought; was this young lady just too incredible?
From beginning to end, she had been in a dominant position.
Several of the hospital’s big shots looked up Ye Shaohua’s information overnight. They didn’t have much authority, and there wasn’t much they could find, but eventually, they gathered a stack of papers—the one from Ye Shaohua’s television program appearance—and the doctors looked at each other in disbelief, "Can she really summon card spirits? Do the Ye Family members know about this?"
"Move Mr. Xue to the senior ward," the Dean finally decided, "I will personally inspect this ward."
Meanwhile, in the ward, Mr. Ye and Mr. Xue were still dumbfounded when abruptly a medical team arrived.
"What are you doing?" Mr. Ye and Mrs. Xue looked on as Mr. Xue was transferred to a gurney.
By the time they entered a VIP elevator and reached the top floor, Mr. Ye was inwardly startled by the sight of this ward.
While Mrs. Xue could only think that the ward was high-end, Mr. Ye knew that this was not a ward one could stay in just by having money.
And the medical team’s attitude towards Ye Shaohua made Mr. Ye take notice.
Xue Jinhong just stood aside, also looking at Ye Shaohua with some surprise.
After talking with the doctors for a few moments, Ye Shaohua left with Mr. Ye.
Xue Jinhong hurriedly followed.
"Thank you," said Xue Jinhong, lips pursed as he looked down while walking beside Ye Shaohua.
Ye Shaohua didn’t look at him but nodded slightly, "It’s what I should do, after all, you are also my brother."
After all, she had inherited the original owner’s body, and she was determined to repay the life debt on behalf of the original owner.
"Oh, right," Ye Shaohua thought for a moment before pulling out a Tarot card from her pocket, "Here, take this for you, keep it safe."
She didn’t explain what it was, but Xue Jinhong accepted it solemnly.
Then, standing at the hospital entrance, he watched Ye Shaohua get into Mr. Ye’s car. He didn’t move, only shouting loudly, "Sister!" as Ye Shaohua was about to close the door.
Ye Shaohua waved her hand from outside the car, without saying a word.
While outside, Xue Jinhong took nothing out but a gift box from his pocket.
It was the gift he wanted to give her when Xue Jinxin had promised to attend the program.
But now, looking at the gift box, he scoffed.
He then walked to the trash can at the hospital entrance and threw the gift box into it with a "bang."
Upon returning to the ward, he saw the doctor speaking kindly to his mother, who was looking lost. Only when she saw him did she seem to calm down.
Xue Jinhong thanked the doctor and after watching the doctor leave, he turned to Mrs. Xue.
"Jinhong, what’s going on? Jinxin, she, and your uncle..." She couldn’t believe that her daughter, who she’d raised for twenty years, had turned her face against them.
Mrs. Xue was heartbroken.
That, coupled with the call from her uncle, had almost pushed Mrs. Xue to the brink of collapse.
"Mom, stop talking about Jinxin," Xue Jinhong mentioned Xue Jinxin with a flicker of coldness in his eyes, "Haven’t you seen the truth yet? She no longer wants to recognize us, and as for uncle, he is clearly severing ties with us."
Although she had expected it, Mrs. Xue was still incredibly saddened to hear Xue Jinhong say it.
Xue Jinhong just looked at his father lying on the hospital bed, sneering inwardly; unfortunately, none of them had considered that Ye Shaohua was not as they imagined.
