Chapter 933: 923 Tarot (17) Chapter Three

"I know, I’ll move out tomorrow," Ye Shaohua nodded her head.

This was never the original owner’s home, so Ye Shaohua had no objections.

Uncle Ye thought Ye Shaohua was very tactful.

Sitting by his side, Uncle Ye’s daughter, Ye An, glanced at Ye Shaohua and smiled at the corner of her lips.

However, she continued to lower her eyes and talk to Xue Jinxin, holding Xue Jinxin’s hand, looking like two close sisters, "Jinxin, have you ever met anyone from the Shen Family while with Master Ai Li?"

In truth, Ye An was quite ordinary within the Ye Family and didn’t stand out much.

But she was adored by her parents and knew how to act cute and clever, making her more present within the Ye Family than Ye Shaohua.

A month ago, Ye Shaohua had her moment of glory when Shen Jiyun’s people were looking for her information.

At that time, Ye An and the rest of the distinguished younger generation of the Ye Family were insignificant compared to Ye Shaohua.

However, it lasted for only two days, and a few days later, they found out that Shen Jiyun had mistaken her for someone else; he was actually looking for Fenghua.

This fact made Ye An quite schadenfreudic.

Now knowing that Ye Shaohua wasn’t a member of the Ye Family, Ye An felt even happier.

She wanted to consult Xue Jinxin about her marriage prospects and inquire about Shen Jiyun.

"I have." Xue Jinxin gave a terse reply.

Upon hearing this, Ye An’s eyes flickered, her thoughts unreadable.

At this moment, Ye Shaohua had already packed a suitcase.

"You dare!" Father Ye was discussing Ye Shaohua’s situation with Uncle Ye, actually assuming that Ye Shaohua was joking.

He had no intention of asking Ye Shaohua to give up her room.

It made no sense for her to have lived there for decades, only to surrender the room to Xue Jinxin when she arrived, did it?

Honestly, Father Ye preferred Ye Shaohua over Xue Jinxin’s shrewdness.

He slammed the table forcefully and bellowed.

Ye Shaohua gave him a glance and continued pulling her suitcase outside, "What wouldn’t I dare?"

"Brother, isn’t it better if Shaohua agrees to move out? She has her own biological parents to take care of, doesn’t she?" Uncle Ye frowned deeply upon seeing Father Ye’s reaction, thoroughly disapproving.

If this were the past, Father Ye would not have gotten involved in the children’s affairs.

But lately, he felt that Ye Shaohua was too much like his own—always stirring up trouble with a fierce temper.

Seeing this scene, he naturally disagreed.

"What biological parents? I raised her; how am I not her father!" Father Ye, watching Ye Shaohua pulling her suitcase to the door, couldn’t help but shout to keep her from leaving.

Ye Shaohua lowered her gaze as she reached the door, about to step out, but she saw a pair of black leather shoes coming toward her.

She squinted and raised her head, first seeing the perfect jawline of the person approaching.

He wore a white shirt and held several books in his hand. He paused upon seeing her, his eyes fixating on the suitcase in her hand.

Ye Shaohua recognized the person before her.

Inside the house, Uncle Ye and his company were momentarily stunned, but they quickly stood up, acting obsequiously surprised, "Third Young Master? What brings you here?"

Apart from that last incident, the Shen Family wasn’t supposed to have any contact with the Ye Family, right?

Uncle Ye quickly thought of Xue Jinxin by his side; isn’t she associated with Master Ai Li?

"Third Young Master, are you here for Jinxin?" was the only connection Uncle Ye and the others could imagine with Jinxin.

After all, in their eyes, Ye Shaohua could not possibly have any relationship with Shen Jiyun.

Shen Jiyun did not speak but shifted his gaze from Ye Shaohua to the suitcase she held, his eyes and eyebrows moving slightly, "Are you moving out?"

Ye Shaohua found this man a bit strange but just nodded her head.

"Well, it’s good that you are moving out. Where will you live in the future," Shen Jiyun pressed his forehead, "and there are some things I need to send to your new place."

"What things?" Ye Shaohua found it odd.

Shen Jiyun extended the books in his hands towards Ye Shaohua, "Books about Tarot, collected from all over the world, and some notes from Master Ai Li."

"How did you know I’ve been researching this lately?" Logically, unexpected kindness might indicate hidden motives, but Ye Shaohua couldn’t feel any dislike for the person in front of her.

Instead, she felt a familiar sensation.

"Of course, you would study it," Shen Jiyun finally let out a sigh of relief.

He took the suitcase from Ye Shaohua’s hand, "Let’s go."

He did not enter the house or give the other people in the living room a second glance.

Hearing the exchange between the two, most people in the Hall were stunned for a long while.

What was the deal with such familiar conversation between these two?

Uncle Ye and Ye An felt bewildered, recalling how Shen Jiyun had mistaken Shaohua for someone else before.

They knew the incident had caused Ye Shaohua quite some embarrassment at that time.

Yet Ye Shaohua still didn’t manage to make it back to her own place.

She received a call from the hospital.

It was from Xue Jinhong.

When Ye Shaohua heard Xue Jinhong say he was at the hospital, she roughly guessed what had happened.

It was likely that Xue Jinhong’s father had met with an accident.

The condition of Xue Jinxin’s father was indeed dire, as forewarned. Although stable, the doctor’s assessment was that he didn’t have long to live, given that most of his organs had failed.

Xue Jinhong had called Ye Shaohua directly, not expecting her to save his father.

He simply wanted Ye Shaohua to come and see his father one last time.

The hospital was closer to the Ye Family’s home, so when Ye Shaohua arrived, Xue Jinhong and his mother were in the ward; the doctors had given up on treatment and allowed the family some private time with Xue Jinhong’s father.

Standing aside, Ye Shaohua heard the doctor speaking to Xue Jinhong, "Medically speaking, we are out of options. If you have connections, try finding a Tarot Master. They can’t prolong life significantly, but they can ease the patient’s pain."

Xue Jinhong’s mother made several calls before Xue Jinxin finally arrived late.

Hearing her mother’s request, Xue Jinxin scoffed, "Find Master Ai Li, why should I help you search for Master Ai Li? Did you ever think of this when you swapped me with Ye Shaohua?"

Xue Jinhong’s mother was taken aback, "Jinxin, is that how you think? Your father and Shaohua are also your sister..."

"He’s not my father! I have no relationship with Ye Shaohua or any of you. Don’t come looking for me no matter what happens to you in the future!"
