Chapter 928: 918 Tarot (12) Chapter One

Xue Jinhong had witnessed Xue Jinxin performing divinations at home.

All professional Tarot Masters know that one person can only use one set of Tarot cards in their lifetime.

The spirits of the cards reside behind the Tarot, so they cannot be discarded at will.

There are also specific rules regarding the timing of Tarot readings, and most importantly, one must perform a ritual before using the Tarot cards. Even if not a grand ritual, at minimum, there should be a sense of reverence for the cards.

In this regard, Ye Shaohua was too casual, which made Xue Jinhong utterly disbelieve her.

Not to mention Xue Jinhong, probably no one at the scene believed that Ye Shaohua truly knew how to read Tarot cards.

"Why haven’t you drawn a card yet?" Ye Shaohua asked, looking up when Xue Jinhong showed no sign of making a move for a long time.

Xue Jinhong took a deep breath, then murmured several phrases to the spirit of the cards in his mind before reaching out with sincere reverence to draw a card.

"Jinhong, show us what card you’ve drawn," the Host said, intending to ease the awkwardness, and promptly stepped forward to help.

He even flipped through the Tarot card book on the side, trying to find a brief explanation for the card Xue Jinhong drew.

"It’s the Devil Token, which fits you so well, Jinhong," the Host chuckled, eager to move past the moment, "It seems Shaohua’s prediction was accurate. Let’s get ready for the next activity..."

"Did you go to the hospital the day before yesterday?" Shaohua gazed at Xue Jinhong’s forehead, then at his hand holding the card.

Xue Jinhong was taken aback; the only person who knew about his hospital visit was his Agent, not even Xue Jinxin was aware – how did the other party know?

Shaohua took the Devil Token from his hand, and while seemingly observing the card, her gaze fixed on Xue Jinhong’s brow, "Do you often have nightmares? Sleep uneasily every night, frequently unable to control your temper, especially lately with your temper growing worse, and you’ve been consistently unlucky, no matter which Family you visit ending up worse off? Did you recently accept a role in Director Wu’s new movie?"

Xue Jinhong was stupefied by Shaohua’s barrage of questions and blurted out, "How... how do you know?"

"Not only do I know that, but within an hour, Director Wu will notify you that you’re no longer part of the Drama Crew," Shaohua retrieved the Devil Token and took off a piece of jade from her neck, handing it to him with a furrowed brow, "Wear this for now. After the show, come back with me and I’ll see what’s wrong with you."

"Who’s going back with you? Don’t jinx me! There’s no one better suited for the role than me already confirmed by Director Wu!" Xue Jinhong ignored Shaohua, "And my sister is a Tarot Master and she’s never spotted any issues with me, what could you possibly see?"

He assumed that Shaohua had researched his background beforehand, so he did not believe that she could have made accurate predictions.

He uttered the last sentence without thinking.

The "sister" he referred to was of course not Shaohua but Xue Jinxin, and after speaking, Xue Jinhong immediately regretted it.

Just the very fact that Shaohua agreed to attend the show today meant he didn’t really dislike her.

"The sister Jinhong referred to is Jinxin, right?" Fenghua interjected very amicably at that moment, "Actually, Shaohua, what Jinhong said isn’t wrong; Jinxin has never been able to identify Jinhong’s problems, you might have really made a mistake."

But Shaohua ignored Fenghua, and even ignored Xue Jinhong, simply turning to Xi Lang, "Do you still want a reading?"

Fenghua wanted to say something, but Xi Lang just smiled indifferently, "Of course."

"Which aspect would you like to ask about?" Shaohua laid out the cards in a row.

Xi Lang fell silent for a moment, "A question that’s been troubling me recently, I want to know an answer."

"Alright, draw a card," Shaohua stepped back.

Xi Lang eyed the cards and then drew the second one from the left with his left hand.

He knew that Tarot cards, if believed, possess efficacy; if not believed, they’re not precise. Regardless of whether he knew if Shaohua truly possessed Tarot skills, he casually drew a card.

Shaohua squinted at the card he drew, and after a lengthy pause, she bluntly asked, "You still have a mother, right?"

"Shaohua, you’re completely wrong on this one – everyone in the Entertainment Circle knows that the Best Actor is an orphan who came out of Yangxin Orphanage," Fenghua answered with pressed lips.

The audience below also let out a snicker.

Xi Lang’s fans even started berating Shaohua from below, accusing her of deliberately poking the Best Actor’s sore spot.

Xue Jinhong immediately grabbed Shaohua, apologizing to Xi Lang, "Xi Bro, my sister, she..."

Shaohua pulled away from his grasp and said indifferently, "Ask Xi Lang whether he has a mother or not."

Xi Lang actually didn’t believe Shaohua could offer him any advice or see anything through her divination, but he was completely stunned by Shaohua’s words.

Finding his biological mother had only just happened recently.

"You’re right, my mother is still alive, and she found me just a short while ago," Xi Lang murmured as murmurs rose from the crowd.

He then watched Shaohua intently, "Lady Shaohua, please continue."

It was quite clear to everyone at the scene that Xi Lang’s attitude towards Shaohua had changed markedly, becoming much more respectful.

And Fenghua, who just moments before was smiling, saw her smile fade away gradually upon hearing Xi Lang’s revelation.

"The issue you’re conflicted about actually has hidden complexities. I advise you to go pick her up right away, or else you’ll regret it for the rest of your life," Shaohua extended her hand to pick up the Wheel of Fortune Tarot card from the table and offered it to Xi Lang, "Carry this with you."

Xi Lang looked at the mysterious Tarot card offered before him and listened to Shaohua’s words.

He remained silent for less than three seconds, then accepted the card, apologized to the Variety Show director, said he’d compensate for any losses, and promised to come back for a make-up session.

It’s rare for such an interruption to occur during a Variety Show recording.

The director and others hadn’t expected Shaohua’s seemingly casual divination to actually have substance. He hesitated for a moment, then promptly decided to wait for Xi Lang to return on set and dispatched a photographer to follow Xi Lang.

Fenghua didn’t believe in Shaohua. She clenched her fists but maintained a nonchalant facade, saying she would wait for Xi Lang’s return.

Her research clearly showed that Shaohua knew nothing about these matters. She refused to believe that anything real could come from Xi Lang’s departure. What would happen when the photographer returned with nothing to report, how would Shaohua face all those waiting for them?
