Chapter1166: The Power of Rank Four
Sein had never been an easygoing person.
He only showed his gentle side to people he trusted, and anyone who came at him with hostility could expect the same in return.
Right now, keeping his aura low was a blessing.
Since he was teetering on the edge of a breakthrough, the fluctuation in his law power left him in a highly unstable state.
He had no intention of rushing into Rank Four just yet; he needed time to prepare properly.
Fortunately, the Faceless Mask’s enchantments kept his condition steady. At this rate, he could probably maintain this delicate stability for another hundred years. NovelFire
Inside the legacy secret realm, he had absorbed five hundred years’ worth of knowledge in a single sitting.
His aura had nearly spiraled out of control before he snapped back to awareness just in time.
Any longer, and he might have broken through to Rank Four then and there.
A sensible mage knew when to slow down.
The drop in elemental concentration inside the secret realm had been mostly his fault; he had been drawing power on instinct.
The birth of every Rank Four being required an absurd amount of ambient energy.
After all, this was a significant occurrence, enough to elevate a microplane to a higher level!
Now, hovering above the crowd, Sein shed the modest front he had worn just moments earlier.
Most of the mages below had already pulled out their magic rods. The quicker ones had shields up and attack spells ready.
A faint smile crept onto Sein’s lips before the Faceless Mask flared, unleashing six radiant light beams!
Sein was an Elementalist who favored the pyro element, but the mask amplified lumen elemental magic most of all.
Those beams crackled with lumen elemental energy just shy of Rank Four—an unimaginable force for lesser beings!
No elemental shield held up against the beams, and the few attack spells launched in panic were intercepted mid‑air.
Apart from the six beams that could merge into a massive pillar, the Faceless Mask also unleashed hundreds of smaller sparks.
The ground looked like it had been freshly plowed!
Blinding streams of lumen elemental energy rained down, turning the battlefield into a sea of light.
The surge of power Sein released was so intense that even the barrier above the Knight Continent’s trial zone rippled under the impact.
When the radiance faded, the field was devastated. Not a single mage who had stood against him remained on their feet.
Thanks to the Faceless Mask’s powerful analysis function, Sein executed the attack with pinpoint precision, wasting almost no mana at all.
To him, that was one of the mask’s greatest advantages. It was not just a weapon, but also a valuable research tool.
With its analytical capabilities, he could save an enormous amount of effort in the future.
Without a doubt, it was the most valuable artifact he had ever owned.
The six terrifying beams of light carved deep trenches into the battlefield, and the heavy rain of lumen energy swept across the area, incapacitating most of the mages.
Haywood, who had flown off to the side just to watch the fun, was left stunned.
He figured a handful of Rank Three mages would not slow Sein down, but he never imagined Sein would wipe out all the hostile mages in one crushing move.
Is this guy really still a demigod?
For a moment, Haywood genuinely wondered if Sein had already ascended to Rank Four!
The blast of energy had left his own heart pounding.
He was sure he could take a hit from one of those beams, but there was no way he could unleash destruction on that scale.
Among the mages caught in Sein’s attack, about ten demigod-level mages could still get up. But all of them looked just as shaken, not daring to make another move.
The unluckiest of them all was clearly the Rank Three Necromancer who had started it.
Sein had focused on him deliberately. His fancy robe was torn to shreds by the blast, leaving him practically naked.
The skeletal minions he summoned were also vaporized on the spot.
Of all the mages who got hit, he was the only one left completely unharmed—not because his shield had saved him, but because Sein wanted him humiliated, not dead.
The Rank Three Necromancer still had plenty of mana left, yet he stood there trembling, too scared to move.
Demigod mages were technically still Rank Three, so how had Sein unleashed such terrifying power in an instant?
Many of the nearby demigods who had reached the final trial alongside him were asking themselves the same question.
Most of their eyes were locked on the mask covering Sein’s face.
Every spell Sein had unleashed was launched by that mask, and he had not even bothered to use his extravagant magic rod.
Satisfied that he had stunned everyone, Sein sneered coldly, then gestured for Leena and Grimm to leave with him.
He had just defeated nearly a hundred Rank Three grand mages in one strike, thanks to the Faceless Mask.
After unleashing that elemental torrent, his mana reserves were running a little low.
The fact that no one had died spoke volumes about his precision and restraint.
Even if he was fully capable of killing them, he had to hold back.
These Rank Three and demigod-level talents were backed by powerful divine towers.
If Sein had slaughtered them here, he would have to pay dearly once he left the trial zone.
All things considered, this was the best way to end things.
Before the Sein, Leena and Grimm could take off, a massive beast with two wings broke through the barrier and landed in front of them.
It was at least Rank Five, and probably stronger than its peers of that rank.
It seemed even stronger than the Bouldrak King and those Phantom Crows Sein had seen in Bouldrak World.
The creature had a huge red nose but showed no clear hostility.
It folded its wings and spoke in a deep, rumbling voice, “Rank Four creatures are not allowed in this trial zone. If you’ve broken through here, then please leave with me.”
Sein looked up at the giant beast’s massive nose, blinking at its sheer size and presence.
He glanced left and right, then realized the beast was talking to him. He raised his hands and said, “But I’m not Rank Four.”
The big‑nosed beast stared at him in disbelief.
