Chapter 1142: Brutal

Tourmaline let out a sky-shaking dragon roar as she slammed a mighty blow into the Phantom Crows before her.

Despite the Rank Five Phantom Crow clearly possessing a higher life level, it could not scratch Tourmaline’s hard shell or damage the green ribbons that floated protectively around her.

On the other hand, Tourmaline’s immense dragon claws struck with a force far beyond what the frail Rank Five Phantom Crow could endure.

To be overpowered by a lower-ranking opponent—nothing was more humiliating to the Phantom Crow than this. Even the Bouldrak King’s frustration paled in comparison!

Meanwhile, Gray Feather, having swiftly defeated the God of Forest, moved in, ready to join the siege against Tourmaline.

But the sudden appearance of the Drunken Panda Immortal threw a wrench into that plan.

Unlike Tourmaline, Mangius possessed no outrageous weapons, and his strength was not quite on her level.

Yet this round, chubby panda possessed a rare and astonishing ability that would leave most Magus World powerhouses in awe.

Most Rank Four and above beings in Magus World could summon clones, even some experienced demigods could manifest one through the power of law.

But a clone was still just a clone—its strength usually paled in comparison to the original.

Typically, the strongest clone a Rank Four creature could create would barely reach the peak of demigod level, and losing such a clone came at a heavy cost to the user.

On the other hand, the Drunken Panda Immortal’s technique allowed him to split into three pandas, each retaining nearly his full combat strength.

It was nothing short of astounding.

Even more baffling was the nature of the laws they each commanded.

The red panda clearly wielded pyro elemental laws, attacking with twin flaming sabers.

The blue panda seemed to command aero elemental laws, but his weapons were a pair of electric orbs.

And the yellow panda, master of geo elemental laws, wielded the strangest weapon of all—a simple brick.

Individually, each panda already held impressive strength among peers of the same rank.

With their seamless coordination, the trio managed to hold their own against the Rank Five Phantom Crow named Gray Feather.

Looking at the state of things, it almost seemed like, of all the half-beastman powerhouses attacking Bouldrak Plane, Eugene was the most “ordinary” of them all.

Senarius was the first to take a serious hit, but at least he had two Rank Five parents to rely on.

Although Tourmaline and the Drunken Panda Immortal had stalled the offensive led by the Rank Five Phantom Crows, a massive number of Phantom Crows continued pouring into the Bouldrak Plane through the black vortex.

This relentless influx forced the half-beastman army to retreat on the frontlines.

While Rank Four and above creatures could shift the tides of battle, the current situation was grim.

Though the half-beastman side had many high-ranking combatants, all were too locked in battle to aid the ordinary troops.

The casualties were mounting across every battlefield on the Bouldrak Plane.

Even the other two microplane battlefields—both on the brink of capture—had been thrown into chaos by the sudden flood of Phantom Crows.

From the way they tore through the frontlines, it was clear that the Phantom Crow King had not come merely to aid the Bouldrak King!

If that were the case, this many Phantom Crows would not have been necessary.

The overwhelming pressure that continued leaking out from the depths of the vortex in the sky was a clear sign that the Phantom Crow King was still doing everything it could to force itself through the spatial passage.

“Almost... just a little more... Soon, I shall descend upon this world!” it cawed.

“That little one’s soul scent is so tempting... and those two ribbons of hers... The souls of the three pandas are rather interesting, too. They seem to be from the same origin...?”

The Phantom Crow King sounded genuinely excited.

The spoils of war in Bouldrak World were far greater than it had expected.

To hasten its own arrival, it had already sent its two most trusted subordinates ahead and barred the rest of the Rank Four Phantom Crows from crossing.

Instead, it ordered them to help it force its way through.

It was not easy for a Rank Six creature to force its way into a low-level plane through a long space-time passage.

And judging by Bouldrak World’s response, it was trying to resist the Phantom Crow King’s entry.

But it was too late for resistance!

Just as the guardian had warned, it was a poison!

On the battlefield...

Seeing that the half-beastman legion could not hold out much longer, and that the Phantom Crows’ assault was only intensifying, Sein stepped forward.

A magic rod appeared in his hands, its tip adorned with two divine relics, each glowing with a different hue.

Facing the endless flock of black-feathered Phantom Crows, Sein began chanting the incantation for a forbidden spell once again.

It was an incredibly risky move on such a chaotic battlefield.

If anything went wrong, the elemental backlash from a failed forbidden spell would exact a devastating price.

But Sein had no choice.

With Tourmaline and the Drunken Panda Immortal both locked in combat against foes stronger than themselves, and the tide of battle slipping rapidly out of control, only a forbidden spell had even a chance of making a dent in the chaos.

As the forbidden spell’s elemental turbulence began to ripple outward, the world around them changed colors.

It was the unmistakable sign of a force powerful enough to distort the natural laws of reality.

Sein’s power might not match that of a true Rank Four being, but the sheer destructive range of a forbidden spell was something only a few at that rank could afford to ignore.

Of course, it was not just the spell’s looming pressure that drew attention.

The two divine relics embedded at the tip of Sein’s magic rod glowed brightly, attracting even more eyes on the battlefield.

At this moment, at least four demigod-level Phantom Crows were rushing at him from different directions.

The forbidden spell would take time to complete. Sein needed just a few more moments.

Fortunately, with the experience gained from his last casting, things went more smoothly this time.

Whoosh!

Yuri and Leena flew out in quick succession, intercepting two of the incoming Phantom Crows.

Yuri’s mecha was of average quality, and Leena was only a Rank Three.

Going against demigod-level enemies was beyond reckless, but they had no choice.

Sein was casting this forbidden spell because the situation had gotten so bad that it left him no other option.

This was their last, desperate attempt to turn the tide.

Behind Sein, several strong half-beastmen surged forward without hesitation, shielding him from all sides.

Their refusal to give up even in the face of certain doom vividly captured the brutality inherent in interplanar wars.

And just as Sein’s chanting neared completion...

One of the Rank Six Phantom Crow King’s claws finally tore through the black vortex.

At the same time, a massive golden hand crossed the layers of space and time, descending toward Bouldrak Plane.
