Chapter 1120: Monkeyfolk of the Simius Tribe

After leaving Kameron Kingdom, Sein passed through several more beastman nations.

Beastmen World truly lived up to its status as a large-sized plane. Its diversity and population density far outclassed that of most medium-sized planes.

Faeloria might have had more land and richer resources, but in terms of species diversity, Beastmen World was not lacking in the slightest.

Since arriving, Sein had been repeatedly impressed by the beastmen’s tireless work ethic and resilience.

No wonder beastman warriors were the top-selling slaves across the Magus Alliance—their muscle-bound physiques spoke for themselves.

Most beastmen were also known for being straightforward and loyal.

They rarely turned on their masters, and their daily needs were minimal—just keep their stomachs full.

The constant famines that plagued Beastmen World were not just due to poor soil or overpopulation.

Every powerful beastman warrior had a monstrous appetite.

Bearfolk, lionfolk, and tigerfolk—each several meters tall—could easily eat as much in one sitting as a hundred ratfolk.

And then there were minotaurs, one of the primary warrior races in Beastmen World. Their appetite was even more insane.

Every single minotaur had four stomachs!

Thankfully, minotaurs were omnivores, and their extra stomachs were mostly used as food storage. Otherwise, no beastman kingdom could afford to feed them.

The vibrant, colorful world of Beastmen made quite an impression on Leena, especially since it was her first time exploring a large-sized foreign plane.

Even the wide variety of beastman cuisine was a delight.

The more vulnerable tribes would eat anything, as long as it was not dirt or gravel.

While traveling through a medium-sized beastman empire called the Darius Empire, Sein came across a peculiar sight—beastmen who looked strikingly similar to humans from Magus World.

They were monkeyfolk of the Simius Tribe.

Their height also matched that of a typical Magus World human, but what really stunned Sein was how closely their skeletal structure, internal organs, and even certain genetic sequences resembled those of humans.

The only difference was that Magus World humans did not have tails—only tailbones shaped like an inverted triangle at the base of their spines—whereas the monkeyfolk had fully functional ones.

The current ruler of the Darius Empire was a monkeyfolk of the Simius Tribe, and both this empire and its neighboring nations worshipped the same monkeyfolk god.

When Sein entered the capital, the sight of monkeyfolk everywhere gave him the odd illusion of being back in Magus World.

Their facial features were just too similar.

Most monkeyfolk kept their tails tucked neatly into their robes or pants, and at a glance, they were virtually indistinguishable from humans.

The imperial family of the Darius Empire consisted of golden-haired monkeyfolk—the noble elite of their kind.

In Beastmen World, this subrace was known as “Blond Simius”.

“Since their genetic sequence is so close to ours, does that mean they can also harness battle qi?” Leena asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Probably. The way battle qi works in its early stages isn’t all that complicated. If someone discovers a training method that suits their physique, I’m pretty sure they can forge a cultivation path of their own,” Sein replied quietly.

Back when Sein was stranded in Faeloria, he had deliberately avoided promoting battle qi training techniques.

While similar in appearance, the humans there were fundamentally different from Magus World humans on a biological level.

By contrast, the monkeyfolk’s genetic similarity was uncanny.

Because of that, they met all the prerequisites needed to cultivate Magus World battle qi.

Battle qi and magic were never exclusive to Magus World.

The manipulation of elemental energy was a universal concept across the Astral Realm, since most races shared similar foundational laws.

Magic, of course, required intellect and deep knowledge of elemental theory.

Given the rather simplistic brains of Beastmen World’s native creatures, magic was not a viable route for them.

Battle qi was a different story.

After spending time in Beastmen World and passing through many kingdoms, Sein learned that the beastmen had developed their own body-tempering techniques.

“Berserking” was their unique ability, and over time, they had evolved various styles based on it—“Ironblood Berserking”, “Green Berserking”, “Drunken Berserking,” “Flame Berserking”, and more.

Berserking might not be inferior to battle qi.

At least in Sein’s view, the techniques the beastmen had developed on their own were distinct and definitely worth studying.

In addition to encountering the Simius Tribe’s monkeyfolk in the Darius Empire, Sein also ran into quite a few Magus World knights and mages during the rest of his journey.

As an important member of the Magus Alliance, Beastmen World had always been a popular destination for traveling knights and mages from Magus World.

Most of these Magus World visitors were knights. It was rare to see mages like Sein wandering through Beastmen World.

Mages typically preferred large-sized planes with high elemental activity, like Elven World, Titan World, and Violet Ember World.

The harsh environment of Beastmen World made it a far better training ground for knights.

“Master Sein, we’re planning to head west into No Man’s Land. We heard a war’s about to break out there,” said Somme, a Rank One knight just over a hundred years old.

Somme hailed from the Western Archipelago and had come to Beastmen World with three companions.

Along the way, they had run into other knights and mages from various regions, gradually forming a group that had now grown to nearly thirty people.

Together, they were bound for the so-called “No Man’s Land”.

Located west of the Du’Nahl Great Wasteland, No Man’s Land was a desolate stretch so barren that even beastmen found it uninhabitable.

Endless dunes, scorching winds, and brutal sandstorms were the only things the land had to offer.

And now, it had become the chosen home of the half-beastmen.

With Eugene’s rumored ascension drawing near, not only were the native beast gods watching closely, but many eyes from outside Beastmen World had also turned toward the west.

While half-beastmen made up a massive portion of Beastmen World’s population, very few of them had ever risen to prominence.

In contrast, individuals with beastman bloodlines had actually reached Rank Four and above.

Even a few Magus World knights carried beastman bloodlines, but they would never become the god of the half-beastmen.

They were the elites of Magus World, and none of them would lower themselves to become a deity in a backward world like this one.

That left Eugene as the sole candidate—an ordinary half-beastman with a complex bloodline, born at the very bottom of society, who had clawed his way up step by step to where it stood today!

This was the mission history that history had handed to him!

Behind Eugene were hidden backers—those who wished to shake the established order of Beastmen World and force the old powers to yield.

They could not show themselves publicly, so they placed their hopes on Eugene to carry out their visions.
