Chapter 111: Lifestyle Profession

Leo’s ears twitched as a loud stomach growl echoed through the group. He glanced back at his companions, all of whom wore slightly amused expressions with the exception of Lily who looked awkward and embarrassed. .

Face flushing, Lily quickly pulled Moku up to her face like a fuzzy shield and spoke in an overly sweet tone.

"Are you hungry, Moku~? That rumble was really loud,".

"Pyu~?"

Moku blinked in confusion.

Luna sighed and shook her head, clearly exasperated.

"Really? You’re blaming the puppy?"

Leo chuckled at the flimsy excuse. Horo covered his mouth with one hand, clearly hiding a teasing smirk. Even Sonata giggled softly at Lily’s transparent deflection.

Lily pouted, cheeks puffed out.

"Traitors, the lot of you..."

Luna turned toward Samuel, raising a brow.

"Is there anywhere we can cook food? A certain someone might start roaring if we don’t feed her soon."

Despite the teasing, her protective tone was clear. Samuel nodded.

"Yes, young lady. There’s a local restaurant that’s looking to train some chefs. If one of you feels inclined, it could even become your Lifestyle Profession."

Luna tilted her head, rabbit ears twitching.

"Lifestyle... Profession?"

Horo stepped in to explain. "Think of it like a subclass. You’re a berserker, right? This would be the same — but focused on production. A chef, for example." He turned to Samuel. "I’m guessing there’s more than just cooking available. Right, Old man?"

Once again Samuel nodded, though shooting Horo a dirty glance, annoyed by his irreverent way of addressing him.

"That is correct. There are countless Lifestyle Professions but it can be narrowed down to about 6 basic Genres. If I recall correctly, they were [Craftsman], [Chef], [Alchemist], [Entertainer] ,[Scribe] and [Brewer]."

Sonata looked like she was doing her best to memorize it all while Luna had a blank look on her face, she failed to understand what he was trying to say. Leo let out a sigh as he whispered in her ear.

"It means you can be recognized as a chef and learn some chef skills here."

"Then what are we waiting for?! Let’s go and learn to be a chef!"

Luna’s eyes began to sparkle at the idea of learning new recipes. She narrowed her eyes at Samuel as if to blame him for not leading with that information.

However it seemed that not everyone was so inclined to join Luna in her desire to become a chef. Seeing this, Horo faked a cough before he made a suggestion.

"How about we split up then and choose a lifestyle class for each of us. How about we reconvene back here in 2 hours. We can reveal what we chose at that time. Till then, it’s a secret. Okay~?"

The group nodded one by one, though Luna was visibly vibrating with anticipation.

"I call dibs on Chef!"

she declared, puffing her chest out proudly.

Leo chuckled.

"You don’t need to yell it if it’s supposed to be a secret, Sis."

"I wasn’t yelling, I was asserting dominance,"

she shot back, ears flicking indignantly.

Samuel chuckled under his breath.

"Follow me, aspiring Chef."

Before motioning for her to follow him.

As the others broke off in different directions, Nyx muttered something about wanting to find ’the most amusing profession possible’ and Lily carried a confused Moku as she headed to the apothecary while Luna marched confidently beside Samuel.

After a few minutes, Luna found herself standing outside of a cozy looking restaurant. The inside was modest but bustling with activity.

A long open kitchen dominated the center, with sizzling pans and the smell of fresh herbs filling the air. Behind the counter stood a burly man in a tall chef’s hat, arms crossed like a gatekeeper to culinary paradise.

"Who is this Chief?"

The Head chef Ramone asked, eyeing Luna with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. There was no way such a young girl was looking to learn how to be a chef.

Luna pointed at herself with a thumb and proudly declared

"I’m Luna! Your future best student."

Ramone scoffed but couldn’t help but be thoroughly amused by the confidence that she had.

"Alright then...Show me what you got! Impress me."

Luna immediately pressed Yes. If there was only one thing she could be confident in, it would be cooking!

She immediately headed to the pantry, quickly scanning the contents to see what she could make that would be able to impress a chef like Ramone. After a few minutes of gathering ingredients, she was ready to start cooking.

Ramone was mildly surprised when she turned some tomatoes and some other herbs and spices into a homemade bruschetta but that was not her end goal. She also gathered Feta Cheese, Bacon and Chicken Breast. The combination was interesting but Ramone had no idea how any of these would work together.

With a flourish of a knife, Luna carved a deep gash into the Chicken, as if it was being made into a hot dog bun. She then proceeded to marinate the meat in various herbs and spices. After that, Luna proceeded to stuff her homemade Bruschetta and Feta cheese into the gash she had carved. Almost immediately afterwards, she began wrapping the chicken with Bacon.

Ramone was stunned silent when Luna placed her concoction onto a tray and threw it into an oven with a smug expression on her face.

’Just because it looks interesting, doesn’t it mean it will taste good!’

After almost an hour of baking in the oven, Luna grabbed a mitt before pulling out her dish. As soon as she laid her eyes on it, she saw a golden message screen.
