Chapter 134: No instructions
BANG!
The blow echoed like thunder inside the metal chambers of the dungeon.
A shockwave pulsed outward, shaking broken pipes and rattling loose panels from the walls.
Sparks rained down.
The robot fire beast’s molten fist had landed squarely on Keith’s side, slamming him against the ground with such force that the floor beneath cracked like dry earth.
Keith didn’t move at first.
His body was crumpled, one arm twitching. Blood trickled from his mouth. His vision swam.
To him, the world had turned into broken pieces. Red and black and spinning all around him.
His ears rang.
His breath was shallow.
Elius stood still, sword floating beside him, and calmly observed. His eyes narrowed, calculating the force of the hit, measuring it in his head.
"He’s fine," Elius muttered.
He wasn’t worried.
Because Solarion Empire descendants—true or not—had bodies built for war.
Immune to most ordinary damage.
Their bones were nearly unbreakable.
Their skin resistant to magic, aura, and spirit energy. They had a natural eighty percent damage resistance across the board.
But even that had its limits.
Elius’s eyes followed the fire beast as it roared and beat its chest, preparing another strike. He glanced back down at Keith, still lying on the floor, gasping for breath.
Keith was tough—but still far too weak.
In the cultivation system terms, Keith barely matched a stage five F-Rank superhero. Strong among students, sure. But the fire beast? That was stage eleven. Nearly six times stronger.
Which meant that resistance or not—Keith was feeling those hits.
Elius spoke calmly, as if this wasn’t a life-or-death moment. "Get up, Keith. You’re not dead yet."
Keith’s fingers twitched. He groaned, pushing himself up on one elbow. His arm shook violently, blood dripping from a cut across his forehead.
"I... I can’t—" he started to say, but he was cut off.
Because Elius stepped forward.
"Then watch."
He raised one hand.
Five swords appeared mid-air—sleek, glowing, and deadly. They spun lazily like sharks circling prey. And then, with a flick of Elius’s finger—they launched.
VHHHHHHHHHHHHHMMMMM!
They cut through the air with terrifying speed.
The fire robot beast turned. Its eyes locked on Elius.
BZZZZT! A laser beam shot toward him, but Elius shifted his body just enough. The beam singed his cape—but missed his heart.
"Too slow," Elius said.
The flying swords danced. They didn’t just stab—they harassed. They flew in at strange angles, scraped the fire beast’s armor, then vanished. Like wasps, they circled around and hit again. And again. And again.
The creature tried to attack, raising its blazing fist—
But Elius was already ten feet away.
The swords sliced into its legs.
It stumbled.
"You want to know what you did wrong, Keith?" Elius said calmly as he walked in a wide arc around the fire robot, swords slicing and spinning in the air around him.
Keith raised his head slowly. "Wh-what?"
"You stopped moving when you got hit. That’s the first mistake."
The fire beast turned toward Elius again and unleashed another blast of flame. Elius waved one sword—SWHOOSH!—and split the fire beam in half.
"The second mistake—" Elius continued, "—you relied too much on your strength. You’re not strong enough. Not yet. So use your mind instead."
CLANG!
One of Elius’s swords jabbed into a joint behind the creature’s left shoulder. Sparks erupted. The fire beast staggered and spun wildly.
"Third," Elius said, ducking under a swipe, "you never predicted the second attack. That creature doesn’t stop with one strike. It follows up."
Keith watched, wide-eyed, while blood trickled down his cheek.
Elius was moving in a perfect pattern—leading the fire robot beast in a circle. The creature chased him, but always missed. Its huge fists slammed walls, its legs crashed against debris, but Elius never got touched.
"Always stay ahead of the rhythm," Elius said. "Fight like you’re conducting the battle."
Keith was stunned. His brother looked like a ghost, slipping between shadows, guiding the fire monster like a puppet master.
And the flying swords...
They never stopped.
They circled, stabbed, distracted, and vanished. The fire robot was fast—but Elius was faster. His timing was flawless. When the creature punched, a sword blocked. When it roared, another stabbed its throat. When it jumped, Elius was already gone.
Elius looked over his shoulder.
"You learning anything, or are you just bleeding for fun?"
Keith coughed, but then—smiled.
He nodded.
Fast.
Again.
And again.
"I’m learning," he whispered.
Elius snapped his fingers and recalled the swords, letting the fire beast retreat momentarily.
He turned to Keith.
"Can you fight again?"
Keith hesitated.
His arms were bruised. His legs barely holding him up. His head still swam. "I... I’m not sure."
Elius smiled. "You can. Just do what I told you earlier."
Keith blinked.
"What?"
"I’m not going to tell you again," Elius said. "It’s your turn to think. You want to be strong? Then start acting like it."
Keith’s eyes widened.
No instructions this time.
Just... belief.
He clenched his fists.
He stood.
And he ran.
The fire robot beast turned its head. Keith charged. No sword. No powers. Just fists.
BOOM!
The second battle began.
It was wild. Violent. A clash of fire and fury.
Keith dodged better now. His feet remembered the training. He rolled under a fire swipe. He used debris as cover. He climbed onto a broken pipe, jumped, and landed a punch straight into the fire beast’s side.
BANG!
The monster stumbled.
But then—it twisted, faster than Keith expected.
WHAM! A backhand caught Keith in the chest.
He flew.
Hit the ground.
Rolled.
Groaned.
Elius didn’t move.
He just watched.
Keith got up again.
Blood in his mouth.
"No time to cry," he whispered to himself.
He charged again.
This time, he slid under the creature’s legs and punched upward—BAM!—into its weak back joint.
Sparks flew.
The fire beast spun—too slow.
Keith was already gone, climbing up a nearby wall and launching himself off it—slamming a foot into the creature’s jaw.
Elius nodded.
His eyes scanned the fight. Keith had improved.
But...
He still wasn’t fast enough.
Still not precise enough.
Still not aware enough.
Because suddenly—the creature faked a left hook and then WHAM!
A blazing punch landed on Keith’s shoulder.
His entire body jerked.
His head snapped sideways.
BANG!
He hit the ground again—and didn’t move.
Elius’s swords began to hum again.
He stared, calculating.
"Almost unconscious," he muttered.
"Let’s see what you’ll do next... little brother."
