Sleeping With The CEO -
Chapter 203: Too Comfortable
Chapter 203: Too Comfortable
After their in bed talk where the two of them had shared information about their fathers, things should have gotten awkward. But to Emily’s pleasant surprise, the talk actually helped.
For Emily, it had felt like carving up a tiny piece of her soul.
Then offering it up to Derek without knowing how he would react. For all that she had known in that moment, he could have grabbed that fragile piece of her, and shattered it to bits. But instead, Derek had held her in his arms while she told him about her dad. Then afterwards, he had shared about his own father.
When he had been talking, Emily had recognized that for what it was. Derek trusting her with a piece of himself. Just as she had trusted him with a piece of herself. And that small session where they were open with each other was enough to shift things, and do so in a positive way. Emily had never noticed it before. After all, she was getting her sleep when she was with Derek. How could she be anything other than happy to be in his presence? But after they had shared a little bit about their fathers, it seemed like things between the two of them were somehow lighter.
That was the best word that she could think to describe it. Over the last few weeks that they had been sleeping with one another. They had steadily been getting more free than they had ever been when in each other’s company. That was a given. Especially if you were going to sleep with someone on a regular basis. But even though they had been open to each other in most ways. In certain ways they had been closed off.
It had almost felt like a relationship in the beginning. When two people were not exactly sure of each other, and were more cautious around one another. That stage when they knew each other enough to know that they liked certain aspects of each other. But they were not sure if they would still be liked well enough if they showed off certain parts of their personality, without crafting them to look more acceptable in society, and to run less of a risk of scaring their partner away.
That had been the stage that they had been at, but ever since the talk, things had changed and Emily was absolutely loving it.
The first time that Emily had realized that things between them had well and truly changed. It had been because she had done something completely human but also very embarrassing. Emily Molson, for the first time in the two years that she and Derek Haven had known each other, had farted in front of him.
And it had not been one of those farts that could be disguised with a sound like a cough, or maybe suddenly clapping your hands. It had been one of those super annoyingly loud ones that sounded like a balloon losing air. The longer it had dragged on, the more mortified she had been. Her eyes wide, she had stared over at Derek, prepared to have him looking at her with disgust on his face. For a whole three seconds, Derek had just stared at her. And then, when Emily had expected the admonishment to come. His shoulders had started shaking, the next thing that she had known.
Derek had thrown his head back and from his mouth there had come this laugh. Big and bright, his entire body wrecked with tremors as he shook. He had ended up on the floor laughing, and laughing until Emily had stopped being embarrassed, and had giggled a bit herself. Even finding the courage to say something regarding the matter.
"You know Derek, I heard somewhere that the one who laughs loudest after a fart is usually the one responsible," Emily had told him. And when he had taken that statement in stride, and laughed even more. She had let out a huff and made her way to the bedroom. Derek had found her a few minutes later.
When he had gotten into bed with her, and pulled her close, Emily had gone willingly. "It is only natural, "He had said. And that had made Emily feel a lot better about the whole thing. There had since been many embarrassing firsts, after that one.
For both of them.
There was that day where instead of sleeping throughout Saturday morning. Emily had spent most of the day playing nurse to Derek who, on a dare from another CEO, had eaten some very suspect, rare fish and had paid for it by throwing up the whole day.
Then there had been the time when Emily had woken up to find that she had drooled all over Derek’s chest. All that he had done the was just shrug and take off the soppy shirt. There had also been the time when Derek had burped so loud that Emily had snorted. The water that she was drinking going out her nose as a result.
They had weathered the storms that came with sharing a bed on a regular basis. Emily was sure that nothing could catch her by surprise anymore when it came to what she and Derek had going. It was just impossible. They had come through everything that had been thrown their way.
Things like shame and embarrasment did not exist between them anymore.
Emily should have known that she was tempting fate with those words. But at the time, she had been so sure of herself. So certain in her belief that there were no more surprises waiting for them in the future, that to Emily, it had not felt like tempting fate. Just stating facts.
But now, Emily really wished that she had never had that thought in her mind. Because in the current situation that they were in, things were very, very awkward.
It was a Sunday morning and as had become routine for her, Emily had woken up in Derek’s arms. That was normal. That was what they did. So rather than panicking when she had woken up to big strong arms around her, Emily had simply smiled, and she had burrowed closer, digging her toes into the soft sheets. She had shifted a bit as she normally did when she was trying to get comfortable again. But this time, upon shifting, her thigh had come into contact with something...something strange, and Emily had frozen.
What is that? she had thought. And she had moved around a bit more, trying to use just the sense of touch to figure out what the hardness against her thigh was. Given that she was still half asleep, Emily had not been able to figure it out using just her thigh. And in a light bulb moment, she had decided that she would use her fingers to feel whatever it was. And she had slowly moved her hand down. She made it all the way to his belly button before she had suddenly felt Derek tense beneath her. And then the next thing she knew.
He had grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her hand all the way back up. The whole thing happening so fast that it actually cleared the last of the sleep from Emily’s mind. "Derek," She said. "There was some hardness by your legs. I was going to try and feel what it was," She told him, tilting her head up to meet his eyes.
He looked pained, and that was strange to Emily. "Are you alright?" She asked.
He nodded slightly.
"I’m fine, but please stop moving," He bit out, his jaw tight. Emily frowned. What did he mean?
"Derek, I’m telling you, there’s a hardness,"She moved her thigh against it for emphasis, felt it again. Derek let out a low tortured moan, his eyes slipping half closed in pleasure.
And this time, the pieces finally clicked into place and her eyes widened. "Stop moving, Emily," Derek hissed, his voice trembling almost as much as his body was. This time, Emily went as still as possible.
She definitely knew what that hardness was now. Oh
