The dinner night ended with smiles and laughter, warm and genuine. After the rest of the family had left, Kai and Bast stayed behind with Takeshi, seated in a private room filled with a quiet sense of closure.

Takeshi looked at his son with softened eyes.

Takeshi: "Kai, I’m sorry. I did too many things wrong with you, my son."

Kai: "No, Dad. I know you love me... You just wanted to keep me close."

Takeshi turned his gaze to Bast, serious and heartfelt.

Takeshi: "Then what about marriage? I think next month would be perfect."

Kai didn’t respond right away, stunned.

Bast (smiling): "That’s great. What do you think, baby?"

Kai (whispering, flustered): "Bast, don’t say things like that in front of Dad..."

Bast grinned teasingly. Kai finally relaxed and nodded.

Kai: "It’s... a good idea."

Takeshi: "Then let’s arrange a huge function for your official engagement. You’re my only son, Kai. I want to make your special days even more special."

Takeshi: "I’m happy... truly happy to see you smile again."

Kai smiled gently. Bast reached over and held his hand, their fingers laced.

Takeshi: "It’s getting late. You both should rest now."

Bast: "Kai, you go ahead. I’ll join you in a couple of minutes."

Kai blinked, slightly confused, but stood up and quietly left the room.

Back in his bedroom, Kai opened the door and laid down on the bed. He stared at the ceiling, thoughts drifting.

Kai (thinking): What does Bast want to talk to Dad about in private? I’m really curious...

Suddenly, there was a soft knock on the door. It opened, and Reiji walked in.

Reiji: "Oh? I thought you’d gone back to your apartment."

Kai sat up.

Kai: "No. Dad said Bast and I should stay here tonight."

Reiji sat beside him, his tone playfully curious.

Reiji: "So... tell me. When did your boyfriend manage to win Uncle’s heart?"

Kai smiled and shook his head.

Kai: "I don’t know. I was just as surprised as you when I saw Bast was my blind date."

Reiji: "Blind date?"

Kai: "Yeah. Dad arranged one for me... and he invited Bast."

Reiji let out a laugh and nodded.

Reiji: "Well, whatever it was, I’m happy. Seeing you smile again—it’s been a while since I saw the little Kai. The baby Kai."

Kai laughed softly, his heart full.

Kai: "What about you?"

Reiji: "What do you mean?"

Kai: "I’m talking about Eden... and you."

Reiji’s cheeks flushed slightly as he glanced away.

Reiji: "Eden’s mom is coming to Japan next week."

Kai (teasing): "So, are you ready to meet your mother-in-law?"

Reiji coughed lightly, embarrassed.

Reiji: "Kai..."

Kai grinned, noticing how shy Reiji had become.

Kai: "You’re blushing. Don’t worry—I’m sure she’ll like you."

Just then, the room door opened. Bast walked in casually. Reiji stood up to greet him.

Reiji: "Hello, Mr. Sebastian Vaughn. Last time we didn’t meet in a very good mood. But now... I hope you won’t threaten me again."

Kai’s eyes widened in shock.

Kai (whispering): "Threatened?"

Reiji (smiling): "Anyway, I should go. Have a good night."

He left the room with a light chuckle.

Kai turned to Bast immediately, arms crossed.

Kai: "Bast... you threatened Reiji?"

Bast avoided his eyes, looking away.

Bast: "I didn’t..."

Kai: "Bast..."

Bast (quietly): "Okay... maybe I did. But Kai, he kept saying he was your fiancé. How could I just sit there and let that happen?"

Kai: "But we weren’t even real fiancés at the time!"

Bast (firmly): "Even if it was fake—I can’t bear to hear anyone else say you’re theirs. I just can’t."

He stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Kai’s waist, holding him gently.

Bast: "Kai... don’t be mad at me."

Kai let out a long sigh, trying not to smile at Bast’s pleading expression.

Kai: "Don’t make that face."

Bast grinned immediately, then leaned in and kissed him.

Kai (muttering): "Bast..."

But Bast, being Bast—stubborn and shameless—kissed him again, this time on the neck.

Kai (laughing): "Bast, that tickles!"

Bast (teasing): "But it’s tasty."

Kai (groaning softly): "Bast... we already did it in the evening. I’m tired."

He let out a laugh as Bast nuzzled into his neck, leaving playful kisses behind.

Kai (giggling): "That tickles—stop!"

He pushed Bast back teasingly, but Bast only gave him a mischievous smile.

Bast: "Can we do it just one round?"

Kai: "Nooo!"

Bast pouted dramatically, making Kai roll his eyes with a smile.

Kai: "I’m going to take a shower."

Kai turned and walked into the bathroom, but before he could even close the door behind him, Bast was already following. He slipped in and shut the door behind them with a light click.

Kai (surprised): "Bast, what are you doing?"

Bast (smirking): "I want to take a shower."

Kai: "Then wait your turn—I’m taking it now."

Bast: "What about we take it together?"

Before Kai could even respond, Bast had already started taking off his clothes. Kai sighed, already sensing he wouldn’t win this one.

Kai: "Bast..."

But Bast wasn’t listening. He turned on the shower, letting the warm water cascade over his toned body. Then he stepped forward and gently wrapped his arms around Kai.

Bast (softly, near his ear): "Kai... why are you acting shy? We’ve already done this so many times."

Kai (blushing): "I’m not shy, Bast..."

But his voice trailed off as Bast’s fingers traced the back of his neck. The steam rose around them, and the water rolled down their bodies. Kai finally gave in, peeling off his clothes. As soon as he stepped under the spray, he wrapped his arms around Bast tightly.

Bast (holding him close): "This feels so good."

Kai (nodding softly): "Yeah... it does feel good."

Bast’s hands slid over Kai’s wet skin, fingers teasing his sensitive nipples. Kai shivered under his touch, his breath catching when Bast leaned in and gently bit his ear.

Kai (gasping softly): "Ah..."

Bast (whispering): "You remember what you said the first time we did it? You said, ’Bast... I want it inside...’"

Kai’s eyes widened, his face flushing deep red. His entire body felt hot—not just from the warm water, but from the memories and Bast’s teasing words.

He glanced at Bast shyly, cheeks burning.

Bast (smiling): "Just like that. That look... You looked at me the same way that night. And it’s driving me crazy all over again."

Before Kai could reply, Bast captured his lips in a deep, hungry kiss. Passion poured between them, their mouths meeting over and over, tongues tangling as the steam enveloped their bodies.

Kai held onto him tightly, as if Bast was the only thing anchoring him in the heat of the moment. The water kept running over their burning bodies, but nothing could cool the fire between them.

After some time, Bast and Kai lay together on the bed, wrapped in each other’s warmth. The room was quiet, the only sound was the soft hum of the city beyond the windows.

Bast brushed his fingers through Kai’s damp hair, his voice low and teasing.

Bast: "Kai... did you like it? Doing it in the water?"

Kai’s cheeks turned pink again. He didn’t answer—just turned his head away shyly.

Bast gently cupped his face and turned it back to him, smiling with affection.

Kai (mumbling): "I’m sleepy..."

Bast chuckled softly, his thumb stroking Kai’s cheek.

Bast: "Then why are your cheeks red again?"

Kai (quietly): "Good night..."

He shut his eyes quickly, trying to hide the embarrassed smile tugging at his lips.

Bast leaned in and kissed his forehead tenderly.

Bast: "Then I’ll take that as a yes... you liked it."

Kai couldn’t help it—he smiled, even if he tried to pretend he wasn’t.

Bast wrapped his arms around him and pulled him close.

Bast: "Good night, my baby."

Kai nuzzled into his chest, and together they drifted off into peaceful sleep, hearts beating in perfect rhythm.

The morning sun rose, casting a warm glow across the mansion. In the dining room, the whole family sat around the breakfast table. Laughter and the clinking of dishes filled the air.

Kai and Bast sat side by side. Reiji, seated across from them, glanced at Kai and caught sight of the faint red marks on his neck. He smirked teasingly. Kai noticed and immediately looked away, trying to hide his face behind his cup of tea.

Takeshi (smiling): "I’ve decided. Two days from now, we’ll host a huge engagement function for Kai and Bast."

Reiji: "That’s great news, uncle."

He grinned, eyes twinkling with mischief.

Reiji (loudly): "Congratulations, Kai and Sebastian Vaughn. Seems like you two just couldn’t wait."

Kai glared at Reiji and subtly shook his head, silently begging him to shut up. But Reiji, being Reiji, was shameless and just raised an eyebrow playfully.

Takeshi (to Bast): "Bast, if you want to invite your friends, you’re welcome to."

Kai: "Bast, let’s invite Miles and Ethan. I really want to see them again."

Bast: "Sure. And they have a kid now."

Kai (blinking): "What? A kid?"

Bast (smiling): "Yep. They adopted a little, cute one."

Reiji, who had just taken a sip of his coffee, nearly choked. At the mention of Miles, his ears perked up. He leaned slightly forward, clearly trying to act casual but unable to hide the interest in his eyes.
