Sky-cracking Rider -
Chapter 1066 - 1066: Section 1047 - The Great Migration
"No wonder 'Sagali' wants Longinus so badly!"
Chen Fei suddenly recalled Louis Landon's daring journey to the Zilu Continent of Cangqiong Star to witness history firsthand.
The analyst's deductions had unraveled a mystery for him.
In the recollections of Mr. Landon from his previous life as a Reincarnator, the Ground Portal Gate Management Substation in the suburbs of the third largest city on Zhai Liuzhou, Nandu City, was overtaken by the Rebel Army. The core component, Longinus, went missing, and soon after, the 'Sagali' civilization began its full-scale invasion of Blue Star.
Because the collapse of another Blue Star happened so swiftly that the Biological Space Battleship didn't even have the chance to make an appearance, until the very last memory of Louis Landon's previous life, he never witnessed such a colossal being appear outside Blue Star's atmosphere.
But in this life, the Dimensional Gate was never lost; instead, the defense forces were strengthened. The 'Sagali' civilization had even less opportunity to use such powerful war machines as the Biological Space Battleship to directly assault Blue Star.
If they could directly deploy a Biological Space Battleship, why would the Parasitic Species bother wasting effort fixing their sights on the Dimensional Gate?
Hundreds of Biological Space Battleships charged into the Star System where the Antalu Planet resided, also bypassing the "Wormhole Cloud" and directly traversing the void.
It's not too hard to deduce that the 'Sagali' civilization, upon leaving their ancestral land, hadn't strayed very far, staying within the nearby Star Domain.
Otherwise, merely relying on the flesh to traverse distances measured in light-years would be a significant burden for such massive entities like the Biological Space Battleships.
While the 'Sagali' civilization successfully escaped the confines of their Star System, they hadn't reached a level where they could roam the universe at will.
Chen Fei's voice was drowned out in the continuous applause, with not many paying heed to his soliloquy. Even if they heard, they didn't really care, like the Earth Element Warrior Dang Wei Jun, who was merely responsible for Chen Fei's personal safety, not concerned with however many secrets there might be.
"You all keep monitoring! I'm taking off first!"
Chen Fei had no interest in continuing to watch the "Taiji" struggle between two colossal beings and bid farewell, having completed his mission by delivering the Miniature Star Gate Communication Device.
The battle between McKenny and the super-giant Biological Space Battleship lasted several rounds, each spanning from a few hours to hundreds of hours, with neither having the means to land a fatal blow. Both were equally tough-skinned, capable of withstanding a beating, and could only settle into a battle of attrition, meaning the fight wouldn't end quickly—even if it took a year, it wouldn't be surprising.
Chen Fei had no time to keep an eye on it, and could let the Artificial Intelligence AI "Adam" assist in "recording," watching it sped up or quick-forwarded later. He had no power to influence such high-level combat, only able to watch replays without doing anything extra.
Just then, after hours of flight, the giant airship that took off from the "Ordovician Star" Abnormal Region on the Gali Peninsula of the North American Continent finally arrived above Socotra Island and formally met with Chen Fei.
The giant airship, seven hundred meters long, was currently carrying nearly 5000 people. If an irreparable emergency occurred with the Blue Star Civilization, the whole airship could become the last Fire Seed of humanity from Blue Star, or perhaps one of them.
A medium-sized airship trailed far behind the giant one, serving as Captain Ginny's declarations of commitment, cramming up to two thousand members, possibly more, of her family from all three clans, transforming the ship's cabin into a sardine can.
Everyone traveled lightly, either converting their other assets into cash or simply leaving them behind.
Truth be told, just managing to escape the chaotic American Federation was a stroke of immeasurable fortune, leaving hardly any room for more ambitious desires.
"Boss, all my family members have arrived!"
The silver-haired female officer Ginny looked at Chen Fei with anticipation, finally finding a reluctantly suitable way to address him.
Boss, though, tragically, this heartless Chen Xiao'er of a boss wouldn't even give her a salary, not a single dime.
"Why are there cowboys, servants, and unrelated others?"
Chen Fei already saw the entire passenger list on the medium-sized airship slowly descending to land after the giant one.
Even if they brought all their relatives, the numbers were a bit excessive. Many names clearly lacked blood or work ties, young and old, male and female alike, resembling a flock of refugees.
Admittedly, given the American Federation's current situation, they really were a band of refugees.
Ginny pitifully said, "The cowboys and servants have been with my family for generations, and the others are townsfolk. Please, take them in! They're all skilled in agriculture and animal husbandry."
She hadn't expected the scale of relocation to be so enormous, and the family took everyone from the entire town with them.
However, they couldn't easily refuse given their close connections.
"Chen family brother, please, I beg you!"
Lin Zixian also joined in pleading.
"Hmm?"
A cold light flashed in Chen Fei's eyes.
Bam! Lin Zixian was punched flying by Dang Wei Jun, landing on his knees, vomiting last night's dinner.
The S-Class Space Ability User instantly disappeared, skillfully going to call for help.
This process... seemed far too polished. Everyone became proficient, including those who took a beating.
"If you want to meddle, wait until you complete your certificates!"
Chen Fei looked back at Ginny, saying, "Watch over the people you brought. If there are unruly ones, don't wait for me to deal with it. I don't care about family rules or national law!" The tone made Ginny involuntarily shiver; it wasn't an empty threat.
Before this, she had witnessed Chen Fei's dominance on the Antalu Planet; she should know that the power of life and death within the "Realm Pearl" was entirely at the discretion of this man before her.
Good intentions might not necessarily lead to good outcomes, so everyone must be warned not to involve others; impulsive actions and breaking the rules could get everyone killed.
Currently, in the distant American Federation homeland, cornfields, wheat fields, ranches, and forests are burning. The people, in their hysteria, have transformed into devils, unleashing the evil deep within and destroying everything in sight.
"Just like that, you accepted them?"
To Heseman Brown, Chen Fei's behavior seemed overly compassionate; there were plenty of people skilled in agriculture and animal husbandry, so why insist on taking in Ginny's family? If they harbored ill intentions, wouldn't that just be asking for trouble by having to keep an eye on them?
"A bunch of free labor—why not take it!"
From the beginning, Chen Fei had clearly stated that no wages would be paid.
Not only did the entire Ginny family migrate, but even the people on the giant battleship had not been paid a single cent.
Chen Fei's modest bank balance was only sufficient for his personal expenses and couldn't possibly cover the payroll for so many people. The materials within the "Spatial Branding," though plentiful, couldn't be exchanged for money. Neither the Sovereignty nor Lord Landon provided those resources for trading purposes.
"High, truly high!"
Calling it free labor sounds pleasant, but a few hundred years back, it would have been called slavery, and wasn't it just that? An S-class superpower user could only give a thumbs up and say, "I'm going to pick up my family; they should be ready."
Recently, the people wanting to roll up and leave aren't limited to Ginny's family. Heseman Brown's homeland, Gamada, is located on the North American Continent, and it's also inevitably affected by the turmoil within the American Federation. Even if Gamada Sovereignty has sent special personnel for protection, who knows when this social upheaval will end? Not being by his family's side means that so-called protection doesn't bring reassurance.
Now with this extra retreat pathway through Chen Fei, the S-class Space Ability User is naturally tempted.
Ginny's relentless plea for support is thus easily understood.
"Welcome, welcome, a warm welcome!"
At this moment, Chen Fei's attitude was completely different from when handling Ginny.
The Dual Element A-level superpower user, along with their "Power Bank" psi skill combo, still couldn't match the value of an S-class superpower user. In critical moments, Chen Fei couldn't rely on that lovey-dovey couple but rather on Heseman Brown.
At this point, Heseman Brown's phone rang, and he quickly answered. Moments later, he said to Chen Fei, "I'll be right back!"
"Be careful!"
Chen Fei nodded.
On Blue Star, not many things could threaten an S-class superpower user, but there's no harm in being cautious—better safe than sorry.
After waiting for two minutes, a building materialized out of nowhere on the barren ground—a two-story American-style house complete with a garage.
This was a genuine house move, relocating the whole house without the hassle of packing up boxes.
The door opened, revealing five elderly people and seven or eight adults. They took a look outside and then back at the house, seemingly still in disbelief. Through the windows, four or five kids peeked out curiously.
"We're here; everyone can come out now!"
One person, Heseman Brown, started leading people out of the house.
After all, no one had experienced a house transfer alongside people, especially moving such a distance instantly. Before, they might take a small cabin for a wild trip, unlike now, where the entire home was relocated.
Among the little ones, two were sobbing and wiping their eyes. From Heseman Brown's comforting words, it seemed they were parted from old playmates, probably never to meet again in this lifetime. However, there would be new friends waiting for them.
"This is 'Rookie,' my colleague, and he'll take care of you all and be responsible for your safety."
Heseman Brown announced, introducing each member of his family to Chen Fei, including his parents, in-laws, father's sister, his brother's family, and his own children, a total of eighteen people. Compared to Captain Jinnie's massive family of over two thousand, his was a small flock.
The customs and culture of the American Federation might not always value family ties so heavily, nor might everyone be willing to leave their homes.
But regardless, the population under Chen Fei's wing was increasing, and as long as the threat from "Sagali" persisted, it would likely continue to grow.
"Welcome, welcome. For now, settle here and don't wander off!"
After the routine welcoming, Chen Fei quickly made arrangements.
To accommodate these long-distance guests, a plot of land was delineated outside the Sovereignty's camp, fenced off for their settlement, without directly moving them into the "Realm Pearl."
The "Realm Pearl's" life space was still incomplete, lacking many resources, insufficient to host so many people at once.
"'Rookie,' who is he?"
After the giant battleship landed safely, the busy Miyoshi Monk finally found a moment to rush over, noticing the unfamiliar face beside Chen Fei. His occupational suspicion flared up as if a spy had suddenly appeared beside Chen Xiao'er.
Seeing through this suspicious monk's concerns, Chen Fei explained, "My second guard, an Earth Element Warrior, Dang Wei Jun, completely trustworthy."
With an S-class superpower user vouching personally, he had indeed proven reliable during recent assessments. Use people without suspicion, suspect people without use.
