Sky-cracking Rider -
Chapter 1040 - 1040: Section 1025 - Day 43
On the fishbone-like core framework of the Impact Celestial Body, hundreds and thousands of tentacle-like high-strength fixative cables drilled fiercely into the celestial body captured from the Planetary Ring, eventually forming an even larger steel-bone celestial body.
Chen Fei sought the immense kinetic energy created by the mass during the collision, indiscriminate of whether it was ice or rock he captured; it made no difference.
When Chen Fei finished assembling the 161st Impact Celestial Body, thread-thin, barely perceivable beams of light streaked across the cosmic void, shooting directly from the Constant Star direction towards the outer side of the Star System.
"Rookie, the Starlight Cannon has started firing!"
S-Class Superpower Users noticed the abnormal beams from the Constant Star direction, captured by detection satellites positioned near the Sixth Planet.
The energy gathered by the fully deployed Starlight Cannons was transformed into high-energy beams, aimed at assaulting the Sagali Civilization's Space Fleet that was approaching the orbit of the Eleventh Planet; these beams would arrive at the enemy's simulated position more than six hours later, essentially using predictive shooting.
If targeting the current confirmed position, the actual deviation would exceed tens of millions of kilometers, thereby missing entirely, wasting the advantage of the first wave of attack.
"The first wave of attack has begun; we must hurry."
Chen Fei glanced at the faint light at the extremity of vision; the cosmic void isn't pristine. When a high-density energy beam momentarily vaporizes some cosmic debris, the otherwise invisible directional trajectory will emit a small amount of visible light.
Most directional energy beams are not of the visible spectrum, hence invisible to human eyes.
In animated cartoons and sci-fi movies, battle scenes show various colored beams crisscrossing, a phenomenon only appearing within atmospheres with large PM values. Film and television need to deliberately mark trajectories to depict the intensity of the battle; otherwise, reflecting real situations might leave viewers in solitude.
Often, only the launch and impact points can be seen with eye-blinding high-brightness spots, and merely looking at them could harm the eyes.
As time progressed, the quantity of high-density energy beams fired from the Starlight Cannon array would increase, peaking 48 hours later, with over two thousand Starlight Cannons firing in unison.
Due to distance, the time lag of several hours prevents the Starlight Cannon array's dense firing from achieving optimal effectiveness.
However, the sustainability of the attack can compensate for these natural discrepancies.
The first shooting batch would take at least twelve hours for Chen Fei and "Atlantis" to confirm the attack results, followed by adjusting the test firing.
Ten days later, three thousand Impact Celestial Bodies set with the Gravity Slingshot, began orbiting the Sixth Planet to gain acceleration.
Under the illumination of the Constant Star Light, the dense light points near the Planetary Ring were clearly visible as hundreds of trillions of tons of celestial body would soon be launched by the Gravity Slingshot.
The predicted arrival time of the Sagali Space Fleet at the Fourth Planet Antalu was halfway past.
Heseman Brown, with Chen Fei, transmitted back to "Atlantis"; the production line established by the "Wall of Sighs" action forces not only prepared most basic materials but even produced batches of components and finished products.
24 super-caliber 10-meter Space Railguns were successfully assembled, along with hundreds of not entirely complete components.
A Light Stealth Assault Ship was completed, with all basic material prepared and 91% completion of semiconductor components.
The 1000-meter-long Combat Mothership required more specialized equipment and a dedicated construction site, hence only the necessary basic materials were gathered. It's fortunate that unmanned combat requires relatively low material demand; only ensuring basic structural strength suffices.
Paired with the Combat Mothership, the Tactical Jet, although unproduced in large quantities, also had corresponding semiconductor components well-prepared.
Once the semiconductor industry starts, massive scale production is the least feared.
As long as all production materials are in place, thousands of finished products can be produced in short time, despite issues of yield rate, sheer quantity means minor defects are negligible.
It took another twelve days to finally mass-produce and arm the super-caliber Space Railgun, Light Stealth Assault Ship, Combat Mothership, and Tactical Jet. Ammunition reserves within the "Spatial Branding" and carried by "Wall of Sighs" dwindled from mountainous piles to nearly eighty percent depleted, notably Crystalline Blocks and Element Annihilation Bombs, almost consumed entirely.
If this strategic defense operation against distant enemies fails to meet strategic and tactical expectations, preserving two or more Biological Space Mother Ships, the city "Atlantis" and the "Wall of Sighs" action forces on Antalu Planet's surface would be doomed.
In line with Chen Fei's expectations, continuous battle reports emerged during the 43 days of the Star System defense operation plan.
On the 26th day of the operation plan, the high-density energy beams from the Starlight Cannon contacted the biological Space Battleship of the Sagali Civilization. Unprepared for the first wave of Focus Fire, 13 biological Space Battleships were relentlessly bombarded by over 1000 beams; the Protective Barrier held less than ten minutes before failing, the biological Space Battleship, several kilometers long, ignited and burned from head to tail for a full 4 hours, body disintegrating, including parasitic organisms, none survived.
Day 27, all 2200 Starlight Cannons engaged in combat, corresponding high-density energy beams flew hours towards the Ninth Planet vicinity, reducing Biological Space Battleships by 30, dropping cluster numbers below 400.
Day 28 to Day 40, continuously relying on Constant Star energy, the Starlight Cannon sustained unilateral Focus Fire bombardment against the Biological Space Battleship cluster. As the distance closed, effective attacks increased.
In the depths of space far from the Constant Star, the Sagali Civilization's ability to gather Constant Star Light Source was rendered useless, lacking other ultra-long-range attack means, forced into a stubborn defense, enduring attrition, speeding towards the Fourth Planet Antalu.
On day 35, the Gravity Slingshot of the Sixth Planet Misel concluded firing, 3000 Impact Celestial Bodies separated from planetary gravity fields over 31 hours, carrying away over 500 trillion tons of total mass; with respect to the Misel Planet and Planetary Ring, this mass wasn't even a fraction.
Day 40, aided by Gravity Slingshot acceleration, the Impact Celestial Body group contacted the biological Space Battleship cluster near the Seventh Planet, already suffering from high-density energy beam assaults.
Merely one encounter, one full-length 7-kilometer biological Space Battleship couldn't sustain its Protective Barrier even a second more, crushed instantly by an Impact Celestial Body 5.4 kilometers in diameter, 167.1 billion tons in mass, reduced to ashes without a shred of resistance.
Throughout the 32-hour collision, over half the Sagali Civilization's Biological Space Battleship fleet was obliterated, reminiscent of doomsday scenarios. The Parasitic Species likely never anticipated the Blue Star Civilization's ruthlessly decisive tactic.
Against absolute mass, all artificial constructs are but illusion.
