Sky-cracking Rider
Chapter 1024 - 1024: Section 1011 - As if Facing a Great Enemy

The completely sealed life support pod isolated all microorganisms that could threaten human life, as well as various plants and animals, toxic and harmful gases, and deadly temperatures. It could even resist a certain level of radiation, providing maximum protection to Lin Zixian and Ginny, who were stuffed inside the packed pod.

Carrying two life support pods, Chen Fei and Dang Wei Jun returned to the original entrance unharmed after a few hours.

The combat mechs that stayed behind not only leveled the ground and arranged the lighting during that time, but also established blockading positions and trenches at both ends of the entrance, looking as if they were setting up a base on the spot.

The mechanical dragon guarding the outside shook off the blade wings sealing the entrance, causing a thick layer of dry ice particles to fall with a clatter, like raindrops bouncing on a jade plate.

These mechanical beings would continue to stay here, temporarily switching from combat functions to general functions, until the entire outer entrance was completely sealed off. After all, gathering resources was just beginning; by laying the groundwork in advance, resource gathering would feel easier.

After storing the modified mobile base vehicle and the mechanical dragon into the "Spatial Branding," Chen Fei released a small combat spaceship, flying towards the brightly lit "Atlantis" amidst the falling solid carbon dioxide.

Just as they returned to the city under the "Skylight's" shield and passed through the sealed isolation barrier, Chen Fei and Dang Wei Jun were tightly surrounded by a large group of fully-armed human soldiers and combat mobility armors, with dark gun barrels and cannon muzzles directly pointed at them.

The Deputy Mayor Huang Xiulun shouted with a megaphone: "'Rookies,' don't make any unnecessary moves; submit to the security check first."

No one knew if the two who came back after staying outside for a day and a night were still their original selves, or if they had been swapped.

Such tactics were possible not only for "Sagali" but even for the Blue Star Civilization.

A switch like in the tale of the wonderful rats switching with the Crown Prince, could indeed be life-threatening.

Before this, the "Skylight" had sealed "Atlantis" and the satellite city tightly, ensuring relative security with no one coming in from outside and no one going out from within. But now, these four had suddenly left everyone's sight, which, from a conspiracy theory standpoint, had too much potential for manipulation.

"I understand your concerns. 'Sagali' could potentially swap people, but the AI might not be fooled!"

Placing the life support pods on the ground and automatically opening them to let the people out, Chen Fei calmly raised his hands. The "Dragon King" assault-type heavy armor disintegrated into countless tiny geometric shapes, quickly shrinking and disappearing from his body, reverting to its original energy points. Due to the use of "material simulation," one energy point was consumed. Including the weight of the single soldier tactical armor, which was less than a ton, it was directly rounded down and absorbed by the system (eaten by the dog). So, in total, two energy points were used.

If it wasn't recycled back into energy points but instead stored in the "Spatial Branding" as a backup, although these two energy points would still be required, it could be reused next time without needing to pay the energy points again.

"Impossible! Cloning technology can completely match the DNA, and the AI cannot differentiate spiritual power. I warn you four, to avoid unnecessary tragedy, absolutely do not act rashly."

Huang Xiulun, however, did not fully trust Chen Fei's words and remained highly vigilant. The "Wall of Sighs" action force, with over 10,000 personnel on an alien star, could not predict whether tomorrow or unforeseen incidents would come first. Hence, any cautious tests were necessary.

"Alright! Take your time, don't be overly tense. First, use X-rays, then verify DNA. By the way, the AI is bound to me with a unique connection, and we are one entity. Cloning cannot transfer this, nor can special abilities."

Chen Fei reminded the other side not to focus on the wrong point.

The binding method of the Artificial Intelligence AI "Adam" was highly unusual, suspected to be related to supernatural powers. The presence of many uncertainties with supernatural powers meant that even clones or the same genes might not awaken in exactly the same way.

The best example being the prominent Louis Landon. In a previous life, he had awakened as a supernatural power user, but in this life, he hadn't even been cloned and remained the same real self from beginning to end, yet he hadn't awakened any special abilities. Until now, he was still an ordinary person.

"Hey, I don't believe it!"

Huang Xiulun sneered and continued, "Inspection, isolation, interrogation - it's not targeted at you, I would undergo the same procedures. So, please cooperate with our work."

Chen Xiao'er, due to his own carelessness, found himself in a passive situation. After seizing control over "Atlantis," the operations chief at the "Wall of Sighs" finally had a moment to assert himself.

"Alright, stick to the rules!"

Chen Fei was entirely unconcerned.

"According to the rules!"

Huang Xiulun secretly breathed a sigh of relief, reaching an agreement with the other side.

As long as they don't act recklessly, the situation will not deteriorate. Here, they could not withstand conflicts of any scale or form, so everyone was doing their utmost to avoid escalating tensions. Otherwise, how would those proud military leaders allow a common person to act with impunity over them, only to willingly be relegated to the satellite city area almost in exile?

A dozen people in sealed suits surrounded Chen Fei, Dang Wei Jun, Lin Zixian, and Ginny, first spraying them with disinfectant mist, followed by a thorough head-to-toe examination with ultraviolet light. Next, X-rays, ultrasound, and infrared thermal imaging were conducted on the four, as if to scan them inside-out thoroughly.

As expected, the preliminary check found no suspicious points, allowing Huang Xiulun and those military leaders to breathe a sigh of relief.

No one knew what these four had experienced during the over 24 hours outside, and even if they were to honestly confess, it might not easily be believed.

A sudden trust crisis was quite troublesome, and even more troubling was Chen Fei.

Very seldom were the task codes chosen incorrectly; this guy was a true Rookie, undeniably reckless, with no regard for personal safety. If he truly fell into a trap one day, no one would find it surprising.

Although nominally the ruler of "Atlantis," he showed no appropriate awareness, recklessly taking risks on impulse without considering what others would do if something happened to him (in a real sense).

Nobody else could use the spatial ability from "Rookie's" hand, which wasn't just some alchemical storage artifact. Once a person died, the supernatural ability would disappear, and along with it, the vast resources stored inside.

Once contact with Blue Star was finally reestablished, it would likely once again be interrupted, leaving those accidentally stranded on the alien star potentially to live and breed here for generations, unable to find a way back to Blue Star.

The four were escorted onto a mobile base vehicle and taken to the detention area.

The mobile base vehicle Chen Fei built had high extensibility, usable for passenger transport, freight transport, tanks, and micro-bases, capable of fighting, carrying, running, and living—offering versatile applications. It had now become the main transportation means for both "Atlantis" and the satellite city, and now it served as the most suitable vehicle for escorting.

"We..."

"Shut up!"

Lin Zixian hesitated to speak, but Ginny's glare silenced him immediately, swallowing his words back at the throat.

Having gone through the full inspection process before, Ginny naturally knew what behavior was appropriate at what time. Especially at such a critical moment, speaking out of place could easily cause unnecessary trouble for oneself and even drag others into it, so if unsure, it's better to remain silent.

Lin Zixian, intimidated by Ginny's gaze, quickly stayed obediently quiet.

Chen Fei, however, was utterly unfazed, saying to the Earth Element Warrior beside him: "Sorry, Old Second, for pulling you into this."

With respect to conducting an interrogation, Chen Fei was the expert, courtesy of a certain black-hearted bald thief who kept instilling those ideas in him. Without that, he might have exploded long ago.

Because of this understanding of the routine, Chen Fei knew that Huang Xiulun and others, despite appearing stern, were quite courteous.

They transferred the four to an inspection location, isolating each into separate rooms.

The entire detention area contained only the four of them.

The "Wall of Sighs" action team of over 10,000 people being on an alien star meant nobody could predict if tomorrow or unexpected events would come first. Therefore, their detention facility was essentially empty, having been sparsely populated.

"Old Huang, make haste, I have things to do!"

Chen Fei said, looking up at the corner of the detention room where a camera was located, as he eagerly awaited to continue gathering resources!

The room's cameras covered every angle, leaving no blind spot, as it surveilled him comprehensively.
