Chapter 217: Loyal Servant
Celeste!
She paused and then saw me, I could see it in her eyes, she sensed something was wrong. "Yelena are you alright? You look tired"
Celeste!
"Why is the Empress not speaking?!" Her mood swing was fast as her hot gaze dropped on Mathilda, I knew Celeste never liked Mathilda to begin with. "I said-"
Mathilda stretched her hand forward before Celeste could act and next, I saw a blur.

"Mathilda" Nicklaus mouths seeing the shaped gem as an M. Yelena must have done this and sometimes magic like this must have required subconsciousness, she must have left this message without even realizing it. In hopes that he may come to find her and he will.
"You think she did this?"
"There’s no time to think about it, with this I can trace her magic but it’s faint, we have no time to waste," Nicklaus said, with a snap of his fingers, the portal opened and they both hurried in.
"This is all my fault," Mint said with clenched teeth, his fist clenching to a point they almost drew blood. "I have failed my Empress"
"Mint," Olivia said with worried eyes, she was about to say something to him but he walked away.
"Mint!"
But he didn’t look back, her eyes formed in tears. "Empress, please be safe"

I screamed falling, almost meeting the concrete floor but I hung in mid-air and I was up on my feet, and then suddenly two Sorceresses grabbed me.
"Leave me!" I yelled I got my voice back, I wished it was the same for my body too, I was weak and I felt...I gasped, my water just broke.
Suddenly Mathilda appeared, this was her doing, she teleported us here, wherever this place was.
"Quick! the child is coming, get ready"
"Leave me!"
"Let her go!" Celeste barked as she came into view.
"You shouldn’t be here"
"Celeste!" I called.
"I will not ask again!" She growled as her eyes turned black and veins rested beneath her eyes, in a blur of speed she came at Mathilda.
"With me!" Mathilda yelled and then she chanted a spell.
Celeste was pushed backward and her back slammed on the wall but she was back and more aggressive, about five other sorceresses were beside Mathilda as they chanted a powerful spell that kept Celeste back but she still pushed through, using her claw hands to push open the invisible wall that forged to keep her away.
"Ui Rey gri jin"
"Ui Rey gri jin"
"Ui Rey gri jin"
"Ui Rey gri jin"
Their chants got louder and more powerful, and tears filled my eyes before I could stop them.
Celeste roared as she broke the spell and it backfired with the sorceresses being pushed backward. I felt relief washed upon me but that was gone because Mathilda was still on her feet completely unscratched by what happened. A smirk on her lips, she didn’t faze nor waver, she was hideous.
"You think you can handle me, sorceress!" Celeste seethed at her.
"Do you think I’m unprepared?" Mathilda said in a dark tone I could hardly realize and with her hand raised, Celeste hanged in the air choking on blood. "I have waited millennia for this," she said exasperated. "This very day, a demi-god will be born with the destiny to lead the Holy Library into our existence!"
"S-Some.... l-l-loyal... Sorceress... y-you a-are" Celeste choked her hands on her throat like something imaginary was strangling her.
All I could do was watch, watch as my friend and sister struggled for their life.
Mathilda smirks. "I’m loyal..." she mouth as with a pull of her finger, Celeste was before her still hanging. "... to my first master"
I noticed as Celeste’s eyes widened like she had just put a puzzle together and it finally matched but before I could understand what, something horrifying happened right before my eyes, Celeste’s heart was ripped out of her chest and Mathilda held it like a prized possession.
"CELESTE!!!!!!!!" I roared and the windows I didn’t realize were there were smashed, causing chaos and the walls cracked almost collapsing, I couldn’t control it, I couldn’t think, I didn’t want to.
"Enough!" Mathilda yelled at me, I noticed as her eyes beamed, and I felt something cold around my wrist, white chains and it restricted my power. I was hanging in the air suddenly, my hands up and I merely struggled to break free even though I knew it was futile.
"Do not strain yourself, Yelena, for your child’s sake?" She spoke like a loving person but she was a monster, giving me that sweet smile as if she hadn’t just ripped someone’s heart out! My teary eyes darted to Celeste’s lifeless body on the floor and I broke.
"Shhh, it’s okay" Mathilda mused and she leveled me down, but this time I leveled down on a platform and laid on it, my hands parted at both sides. "Soon the pain will go away" her eyes leveled to my bump where I noticed my baby kicking. "Look, he’s eager to come out," he giggled.
"How could you do this?!" I asked in a low threatening voice, I was weak and all I could think about was a sudden pain I didn’t come from. I was both heartbroken and I could already feel my unborn child coming. I groaned, pulling my head to rest on the cold platform, my baby was coming!
Nicklaus where are you?
"I’m loyal Yelena and WE all hold his wishes, you know he knew this would happen, that is why he patiently waited for millenniums for this very day" her bloody hands trailing my hair like she was patting me, I could have cringed from her hold but I was more focused in what was coming.
"Who?!" I demanded, hoping to know whoever orchestrated this, it must be the shadow, that thing was behind it all and I finally knew what it was after all along, it was after my unborn child.
"Vlad Darkmore"
