Chapter 206: Call Me Master
Chapter 206: Call Me Master
"Give it a try dearest" Celeste intoned. "Your one hour is almost up"
I took a step forward stretching my hand forward and closing my eyes. I should think of it, feel it, I should also remember the connection I had with Nicklaus to sense his study.
I took a deep breath. "Imagine..." I whispered to myself, cracking my neck. I felt absolutely nothing and it was egging me.
I felt Alaric’s hand on my shoulder. "Don’t give up yet, feel it from deep inside you" his voice guided me. "Something gleaming and something certain"
I took a deep breath, my eyes remained close and I tried to focus as Alaric told me to, I searched deep and I saw a dim light within.
"Can you feel or see it?"
"Yes"
"Good, now reach for it"
I gasped, opening my golden orbs which I was certain gleamed. Before me was now a portal.
"You did it," Celeste said with a smile on her lips.
"I did it!" I said excitedly facing Alaric but his looks puzzled me. "Are you okay?" I asked worried, noticing how the purple highlight in his eyes seemed to wave.
"Y-Yes," he said with a forced smile. But it didn’t sound convincing, I was about to speak.
"You should go on now, portals don’t open for long"
I stroke a nod facing the portal and stepping within it.

Alaric orbs watch as the portal closes but Yelena seemed to take a look at him before it did, but he quickly looked away feeling unsettled. The portal vanished.
"Alaric, what’s wrong?" Celeste asked in a worried tone, placing her hand on his shoulder.
"I don’t know what is wrong with me" he whispered, closing his eyes and his hands balled in a fist and his jaw tightened.
"What do you mean Alaric?"
He faces Celeste with confusion written all over his face. "My damn beast fell silent again"
Celeste’s eyes went wide. "What?!"
"The first time I overlooked it because it was a mistake, so why did it happen again?!" he ran his fingers in his hair, frustrated. He understood it and he didn’t accept it, why was this happening to me? Not once but twice now?
"T-There must be an explanation, maybe it was a mistake or"
"It happened twice Celeste!" he snapped at her and she could see the confusion, anger, and sadness swirling in his features. She wanted nothing more than to take it away but she didn’t know how to.
"I felt this deep connection, I don’t know Celeste I can’t explain it"
"I understand but what I don’t get is why Yelena, she’s not your mate brother, then why are you feeling all this"
"Don’t you think I would know if I had an answer?"
She took his hand, hoping to reassure him everything would be okay but for what?
Alaric’s confused gaze still settled on where the portal vanished from, the feeling was deep this time and more profound and that scared him.
"Alaric," Celeste said with worried features.
"I’m fine," he said in a ragged whisper before taking his hand off Celeste’s hold and whirling to walk away, pulling some strand of his dark hair that fell on his face behind, he knew exactly what he had to do to quench this forbidden feeling.

I stepped out of the portal into the all too familiar lobby, my mind still lingered on Alaric’s troubled gaze, I was worried, but I knew I could only ask him properly about it when I get back, so I chose to focus on my training with Nicklaus. I sauntered the hall, making a turn and his study hall came into view.
"You are a minute late" Nicklaus’ luscious voice caught me and I was forced to look at him, my breath seem to only catch as I gazed upon him on the couch, leaning against it, his elbow against the arm of the couch, his fingers pressing against his lips, his other hand stretched out resting on the other arm, but his palm tilted up and swirling in the dark and green aura in a mix swirling around his dark Grimoire which floated just above his palm.
I gulped, the mere sound echoing in my ears, the look he gave me was firm and strong, like a master looking at his student.
"Come closer" he states, I resisted the ways his words made me feel and tried to concentrate as I stride towards him in slow steps until I was finally before him.
"Master," I said hoping to get a reaction from him but he didn’t seem to flinch.
The Grimore shut close.
"Good," He said in a stern voice that I didn’t even recognize, my eyes narrowed in question. "Because right here right now... I’m your master, not your husband"
I blinked and then I folded my arms. "Okay, master" I stated, and yet no reaction from him, but still I held my ground. "What is my first lesson?"
He hoists to his feet, his Grimore levitating back to the stance. "The basics," he said walking around me as if inspecting me and I only seem nervous now.
"Basic?"
"Yes"
He was behind me now. "As of now you don’t understand magic, tell me Yelena... how did you manage to get here?" he closed the distance behind me and I could feel the cold feel of his body against mine but I welcomed it with my heat.
"A help from Alaric and Celeste"
"And what did you learn?"
I took a minute. "That... magic is deep within, I just have to find it"
"Good"
I closed my eyes because this time he spoke just in my ears, and I loved the feel of it.
"Magic is deep within as you mentioned" his hand moved to my arm sliding through it, the movement caused my body to stir against his, I’m sure he felt it too but seems like my lovely Husband was playing master right now.
"A deep glow that can be forged into anything", his other hand moved trailing my back, was this part of the training. His hand settled on my waist.
"Stretch your one hand forward"
I did as I was told.
"Wave it"
I did so.
He made a hmm sound.
"What was that? Was that magic?" I asked confused and then he came to my side assessing my stretched out hand.
"Seems like simple spells won’t work with you"
"What? Why?"
"Your magic requires deep concentration one that cannot be weaponized"
I frowned. "So..." I began. "This won’t work?"
An amusement crossed his features. "That is why you have me as your master," he said with a smug look but as soon as it was there it turned stone cold, I must have really egged him when I told him about him being a distraction, it seems like he was trying to prove me wrong.
He snapped his fingers and then a gem levitated to his hands, a green gem ever so beautiful, and seeing it made me feel nostalgic, very nostalgic.
"Reshaping this gem shall be your basic lessons"
I narrowed my eyes on him.
"What?"
"Have you forgotten master? You almost had me turned to ice with that one"
A smirk crossed his lips, he grabbed my waist pulling me to my body and I gasped. "Trust me, This is far from that"
I gulped, our bodies touching made it harder to concentrate but Nicklaus seemed to remain professional and it made me frown.
"This time you will not shape this gem into a heart desire but weaponize it" he let me go before I could blink, I almost purred at the loss of his body against mine.
"Are you listening to me?"
"W-Weaponize it?" I finally forced myself to speak and his smirk only just broadened.
"Yes, as I said earlier your level of magic requires deep concentration which isn’t exactly pleasant for weaponizing, for a battle you need quick magic not one you can bore yourself into sleep for"
"How will this help?"
"Easy you shape that as a weapon it becomes your technique, trust me, you will understand the rest after you have reshape the gem"
My gaze shifted to the gem, Nicklaus returned back to his seat, leaning against it and watching me with that intense look in his eyes that made me more nervous. Why was I acting this way? I was the one who told him he will be a distraction for me, right now he was putting that into consideration, but why do I want him to be a distraction? UGH!
I shook my head, trying to block any thoughts coming in, hoping I could finally concentrate. I took a deep breath focusing on the gem, I closed my eyes. I should concentrate and search for that light deep within, that is my magic, I have to bring it to the surface and allow it course through me.
Deep within me I felt the light, I found it, I just had to bring it forth and trigger it to the gem. Not my heart’s desire but what will protect me.
