Chapter 192: The Story Of Fire And Ice {13}

"Mother?", she wasn’t supposed to come here, she wasn’t meant to be here, she has planned to go to her and explain things calmly to her, but coming here only made things worse and hard to process, she could imagine how stunned she was and it was evident, she didn’t want things to happen this way, AT ALL!

Her stern eyes land on Alaric beside her and she panics knowing a storm was about to blow.

"A Vampire?!"

"Mother please I can explain-"

Before Alaric could register anything he was blown off by an invisible force and slammed hard against a big tree that snapped at the mere force, but still stood as he was pinned on it by the force unable to move.

"Your mother is a very unwelcoming person," Alaric said as his eyes went completely black, black veins just beneath his eyes emerge and his fangs dropped, he broke the force of the invisible aura, a purple aura flashing from his body, landing perfectly on his feet, and cracking his neck.

Edwina growled ready to go again, the vampires were always known for their brutal strength and savage ways which only made her angry.

"Mother stop!" she came in between them before any more dangers could be done. Alaric growled behind her and it was animalistic, his nostrils flared. She knew even though Alaric was a jovial person and a friendly type, he most certainly didn’t take anything for granted, she can’t let them go further than this or it would be a disaster!

"Mother"

"What is this Yelena! What is a vampire doing here?!" Edwina demands the anger evident in her tone, this was the first time she has seen her mother this angry and it scared her.

"Mother please calm down lemme explain"

"Explain? What could you possibly explain about this disaster!"

"Yelena"

"I will handle it!" she snapped facing Alaric. "Please" she sighed. "Just go"

He shook his head. "Please," She intoned. His dark eyes fixed on her mother before he backed away, his wings emerged from behind and he flew into the skies.

Yelena faces her mother back who was clearly lost for words, she knew why because she was familiar with the Vampire.

"What on earth is going on Yelena?!" she demands, her patience slipping and her tone loud and endearing.

"I was planning to come to you but seems like the opposite"

"Well, I was worried! You always come to visit and then I find this? Speak!"

"I-I-I’m" she began shakily but she shifted the anxiousness away, knowing she had made a choice, one she couldn’t back away from. "I’m mated, mother"

"What?" she was stunned. "You’re? How come I’m only hearing of this now?"

"To Magnus Nicklaus Darkmore, god of vampires"

Her eyes grew wide and her features turned to horror, she was still, her mind trying to process what her daughter just said.

"This is what I came to tell you, mother, this is what I came to speak to you about, about him, my mate" Yelena intoned, closing the distance between them both and took her hands, holding them firm, and eyes pleading.

"I’m sorry I didn’t talk with you first, It happened so fast, you know how it was between you and father as you always told me, I found love mother, Nicklaus is not as dangerous as you all see him, he might be but I’m certain he can change for mine sake" she assured her.

"What are you saying child?" her leveled gaze finally met hers. "Are you saying you’re mated to that god?"

Yelena’s features grew stern knowing there was no going back in this. "Yes, mother... I have decided"

"Decided what?!"

"To spend the rest of my life with him"

"Become his Empress?!"

"Yes mother"

"Do you have any idea what you speak of!", she yanked her hand away from her daughter’s hold hoping to talk some sense into her. "Mates are supposed to come from your Realm! There has never been a cross-breeding before!", it has never happened and it shall remain so, the difference between their Realms.

"I know mother... At first I thought it wasn’t real or I might be losing my mind but mother it IS real, he’s my mate, and I-I love him, I believe we’re meant to be together," she says.

Edwina scoffs. "I will not hear of this" she took a hand. "Come... we’re leaving for the Sun Realm and then we will find your real mate, this is a ruse!"

"Mother"

"Say no more child, I’m here for you," she says about opening a portal.

"I have already given myself to him!" she yelled before her mother would make any more delusional ideas.

Edwina paused, her body still before she faced her daughter who had clearly gone too far. "What?"

"I have given myself to him, mother, the mating consummation", her gaze leveled.

Edwina scoffed unbelievingly. "You let that monster defile you?"

"He’s my mate, mother and it’s our right, you should understand this, you have always wanted me to find love right" she reasons. "Because what you and father had were just duties performing itself but you said you wanted mine to be different" she points to her chest. "You wanted me to be happy and I assure you mother, I’m happy with him... and I do not regret the choice we have made, even if fate doesn’t want us to be together, I will fight it"

Edwina’s unreadable eyes remained on her daughter who suddenly seemed like a grown-up woman before her eyes and not the little girl she always saw her as.

"Mother," she says, hoping for her to say something or anything. "Mo-"

Edwina let go of her hand, a portal opened behind her, no words were said as she turned walking away from her.

"Mother!", but she didn’t look back as she disappeared into the portal and it vanished.

Tears streamed down her eyes.

I watch as my past self cried herself in pain, the pain of her mother not coming to terms with her, or accepting Nicklaus, her silent treatment said it all. But I couldn’t understand one thing. My features grew puzzled.

I thought my mother has taught me duties before love but this was the opposite, she wanted me to be different from her and find happiness, the only problem was she didn’t accept Nicklaus, and she didn’t come to terms with it, what I knew about her wasn’t what I was seeing right now.

And then realization struck me... I was seeing the real truth from 2 thousand years ago.
