Chapter 1607 1607: Under the moon
The wedding was in two more days.
It had been a long day of wedding affairs and it would be another long day of wedding affairs tomorrow.
That was just how it was when it came to a royal wedding of this size.
No, it wasn't just because it was a royal wedding.
It was because it was an interracial royal wedding that all of this hype was attached to it.
But in the end, it was necessary.
There was no need for me to doubt this since I had already agreed to it. The only thing that I could do now was see this matter through to the end.
"Aren't you lonely drinking all by yourself?"
"Gulp! Ke, ke, ke!" I couldn't help choking on the mouthful that I had been in mid swallow of. After all, this voice had really caught me off guard since I didn't expect to hear this voice here.
The moment that I heard the voice, I naturally knew who it belonged to and this was a person that I had been trying to avoid the entire time.
But now…I had been caught by them.
When I finally caught my breath and turned in that direction, I saw the Elven Queen standing there.
The reason that I had been avoiding her the entire time was because it would have been awkward to run into her in a place like this. After all, she was the one that kept trying to say that she would marry me along with her daughter.
That was the one line that I didn't want to cross, so I had been against it the entire time.
It was just that all three generations seemed to be pushing for this.
At the same time, it didn't seem like the other wives were as opposed to this as they were before. It even seemed like they had somehow started to accept Aisha as part of their group even though she was Moon's mother.
But I wouldn't bend that easily and that was why I had been trying to avoid her.
Though I had been doing it in a subtle way.
"Do you not welcome me?" Though she said this in a teasing tone, I could hear the hidden tone that was in her voice. It was almost as if she was giving me no other choice but to let her stay and drink with me.
So in the end, I pointed at one of the other chairs that was on this balcony and said, "Help yourself."
Aisha gave a simple nod before walking over to that chair and sitting down to pour herself a drink from the bottle that I brought.
It didn't seem like she was in a rush at all with the way that she was acting, which actually made me let down my guard for a second. Only I quickly realized that this was a mistake as she asked a question that completely caught me off guard.
"So you've been avoiding me the entire time. How should I feel about this?"
"Pft." I couldn't help doing a spit take when I heard this before slowly turning to look at her.
I saw that Aisha had been looking at me as she said this and there was what seemed to be this teasing look in her eyes at the same time. It was almost as if she was daring me to say something back to her.
But I didn't say anything as I took another sip of my alcohol and calmly looked back at her.
That was enough of an answer for her.
Aisha suddenly gave a sigh before turning away to say, "I thought that we could have a chat under the moon just like you did with my daughter. Moon told me about the times that you've had a serious talk with her, it was always under the moonlight like this. But it doesn't seem like you want to do that with me."
Once again, I didn't say anything.
Though this time, it was more that I didn't know what to say to this.
It was too awkward for me to actually say anything to her.
So there was a long silence that just seemed to linger in the air as neither of us said anything to the other person.
But Aisha was the one that broke the silence in the end with another sigh.
"I thought that I could talk things through with you, but it seems like you aren't really giving me a choice. Since time is limited, I really might have to do something drastic if I want to compete at all."
I couldn't help slightly knitting my brows when I heard this as a bad feeling filled me.
While I didn't know what Aisha was talking about, there was no way that she could mean anything good when she said something like this. In a way, it almost felt like she was threatening me…
But then again, it wasn't as if threatening me would actually make me marry her and it would only make things worse.
With my understanding of her personality, I knew that this wasn't something that she would do.
Only she meant something when she said this, so there was no doubt that she had some kind of plan…
Just what was she planning?
I narrowed my eyes to look at Aisha as I tried to figure out exactly what she was thinking, but I really couldn't understand what she was thinking just by looking at her like this.
The only thing that I could see was that she did feel a bit lonely…
After another long silence, she finally turned back to look at me and this time, there was this look of determination that was in her eyes.
"I'm here to make my declaration that you will become mine."
Without any hesitation, she stood up and started walking away.
I was just left there with a stunned and confused look on my face.
