Chapter 367 - 355 Stone Statue (2/3)

Chapter 367: Chapter 355 Stone Statue (2/3)

Huo Tian’s cultivation level was very low, low to the point of being considered inconsequential, but her spiritual will was absolutely ferocious and unrivaled. No wonder anyone who entered within a ten-foot radius of her ended up prostrating themselves completely!

With willpower as a guide, she could draw distant buildings towards her, an ability all experts in the Mortal Realm who had formed deities could do—so long as it fell within the scope of their Divine Sense.

But this was the Fairy Continent!

Without any hesitation, Huo Tian walked toward the gates.

Relatively speaking, this building was exceptionally intact, barely showing any signs of damage. The two wooden gates were carved with dragons and phoenixes, vividly lifelike, emitting a strong oppressive force.

On the gate there was a placard inscribed with the characters "Moon of Heavenly Demons," archaic and forceful, with a vigor resembling that of a dragon.

Fearing something unexpected, Zhou Heng hurried ahead of her, reaching out to push the door. With a creak, the wooden gates that had been sealed for who knows how many years slowly opened.

What lay beyond was a garden, but the flowers and grass had long since withered, a scene of desolation, and behind the garden stood an open great hall. As the solemn "creak" sounded, two people actually walked out from the great hall, casting a reproachful look at Zhou Heng, seemingly blaming him for entering without invitation.

Everyone was stunned!

Wasn’t this supposed to be a dead city? Not just this city, but the entire continent seemed devoid of vitality, so how could there suddenly be two living people here?

Zhou Heng was just as shocked, but he clasped his hands in greeting and said, "Excuse my presumptuous visit and the disturbance it has caused, please forgive me!"

However, Huo Tian paid no heed and continued forward. Even though her pace was not fast, just a few steps through the courtyard brought her into the great hall, and the two individuals hurriedly followed her in, too preoccupied to reply to Zhou Heng.

The whole situation exuded an extraordinary oddness!

Zhou Heng followed inside, and the others around swiftly descended, their curiosity piqued—who were these natives of the Immortal Realm?

Who wouldn’t want to know what had happened back then? And how had these two managed to survive until now? Even more bizarre, why did they look so calm? The entire continent had fallen from the Immortal Realm, and yet they were calmly inside their house!

The more one thought about it, the more chillingly mysterious it all seemed.

The greater the mystery, the more eager everyone was to find out what exactly was going on, and they hesitated no further in following inside.

It truly was a massive great hall; inside, at least a few hundred people were kneeling on the ground, chanting under their breath, their expressions one of devout prayer, as if beseeching some supreme and transcendent entity.

There were so many people!

Zhou Heng paused in surprise, and Cangao Muyue, who followed closely behind him, was also dumbfounded. The other experts behind them similarly stood there with stunned expressions, their imaginations having never stretched to conceive what was before them now!

Unlike the previous two, all the people in the great hall were undisturbed, only occasionally prostrating in worship.

Waves of indescribable voices rose, echoing the chanting of the great way, commanding respect and reverence as if a deity arose in one’s mind, irresistibly drawing one to awe, to reverence, and beckoning them to join in.

Zhou Heng was suddenly alarmed, for he realized he wasn’t hearing with his ears but rather, the chanting was reaching directly into his soul!

The sound was bewitching, compelling one to submit wholeheartedly to a supreme existence, inspiring fearlessness, ready to face any danger for just one command from that supreme being, whether it meant climbing a mountain of swords or descending into a sea of flames!

He glanced around and noticed that all the people behind him had vacant expressions but their eyes conveyed struggle.

To reach the Nascent Soul Realm, one would have formed a personal deity within themselves and naturally would not be willing to bow and scrape, to become a disciple of another! A disciple is not the same as a subordinate, which are two entirely different concepts.

Zhou Heng had no intention to wake them, and as none of his friends or family were present, he wasn’t fond of meddling in other people’s business. Besides, he hadn’t forgot how alien race experts had once threatened him, and he certainly did not have the kindness to return good for evil.

He looked in the direction the disciples on the ground were worshiping and saw they were actually praying to a stone statue three zhang tall. The top part from the neck up was destroyed, leaving only a headless body.

From the protruding chest, slender waist, and lifted buttocks, one could tell that the carved figure was female, with a physique that could be described as flawless!

Huo Tian was walking towards the statue!

She stopped in her tracks, staring at the ruined statue with an indescribable expression on her face.

A supreme aura, beyond description, emanated from her, rippling throughout the great hall. The stone statue responded similarly, emitting an aura far surpassing the Nascent Soul and Divine Infant Realms, tangling with Huo Tian’s aura.

Peach blossoms bloomed in abundance, their fragrance overwhelming; a blood-red moonlight surged forth, casting a deep, ghostly glow.

Crack, crack, crack!

Fine cracks appeared on the statue before quickly spreading over its entirety. With a pop, it exploded into countless fragments.

The praying disciples on the ground immediately ceased their chants, each displaying a look of panic, yet they still ignored the strangers that had intruded.

A pink light flashed over Huo Tian, and her eyes closed as her body fell backward.

Zhou Heng quickly reached out to support her, scanning her with his Divine Sense. He sighed in relief; Huo Tian was unharmed, merely asleep. His brows furrowed, sensing the strangeness unfolding before him.

Had Huo Tian travelled from afar for this statue?

Was this an enemy from her past?

To be able to qualify as her enemy, one must certainly exist on the same level as her!

Indeed, only such beings would be worthy for the people of the Immortal Realm to worship her devoutly, and also to send the minds of all the Nascent Soul and Divine Infant Realm Old Ancestors into chaos and assimilation with just the prayers of some believers!

He glanced back at those people; without the disruptive music to confuse their minds, each had broken free, showing great horror. Just a little longer, and their will would have been forever lost, worshipping that vague figure, willingly dying for her!

Yet previously, while their consciousness was indulging, they were totally unaware of what had happened, and simply glared angrily at the believers in the hall, the people who had almost ensnared them!

Damn it!

However, they had barely escaped disaster, and the place was filled with weirdness; they dared not strike out, all extremely cautious and on guard.

Retreat?

No one was willing to do it, as there were actually living people here, which clearly indicated that the items here were well-preserved, therefore the likelihood of there being Immortal Objects was naturally great.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

As the statues collapsed, a pit appeared below, black mist rose from within, forming ghost shadows soaring into the sky and then scattering in all directions, as though intending to envelop the entire world.

The wails of countless ghosts pierced the heart, unbearably agonizing!

Zhou Heng suddenly understood that the statues were originally suppressing the evil creatures below, but they had just been shattered by Huo Tian’s glare!

The calamity was caused by the Peerless Heavenly Maiden, but she just closed her eyes and fainted, leaving everything else unattended!

The black mist swirled, obscuring the light of day, a night parade of a hundred ghosts!

What exactly was being suppressed down there?

Bellow—

Just then, a long howl came from the distance, resounding for thousands of miles, rolling like thunder.

In just an instant, boom, a completely dark figure had flown into view. It was a man from the Demon Clan, but the feathers on his wings had fallen off, leaving not even skin or flesh, only skeletal remains, like dual scythes.

Not just the wings, his entire body was rotting away, some parts were skeletal while others still had rotting flesh, and he was emitting an extremely foul smell. The only intact parts were his eyes, which gave off a faint cold light.

His face was not fully decomposed, and one could vaguely see that he had been a man of great presence. Slowly flapping his bony wings, he exuded a tremendous and dreadful aura.

Although he was like a walking corpse, he seemed like a peerless and domineering emperor!

"Ancestor, Great-Grandfather!" Cangao Muyue suddenly cried out in shock, her face filled with intense astonishment.

She clearly remembered a portrait in the Imperial Palace, of her great-grandfather, Cangao Mingfeng, which bore a strong resemblance to the walking corpse before her. The key was that imperial aura and the connection of bloodlines, which were undeniably real.

But Cangao Mingfeng’s lifespan had run dry more than 8,000 years ago when he risked entering the Poisonous Vast Sea in search of the Divinity Transformation Realm’s legacy to break through to the Divinity Transformation Realm and gain an additional lifespan.

After entering, he never reappeared.

But now, Cangao Mingfeng stood before her, in this unbelievably strange form—more a rotting corpse than a man. But could a decaying corpse emit such a powerful aura?

It was not the Nascent Soul Realm, but the Divine Infant Realm!

When Cangao Mingfeng entered the Poisonous Vast Sea, he was at the peak of the Divine Infant Third Layer Heaven!

The rotting man of the Demon Clan slowly turned his head and glanced at Cangao Muyue, his expression unchanging. He stepped towards the hole emitting the black mist, thud, thud, thud, each step landing like a heavy object, shaking the ground.

Zhou Heng also showed a look of surprise, the Demon Clan’s monster before him was so similar to walking corpses he had seen before. Only, this walking corpse was far too strong, the aura of the Divine Infant Realm rolled unchecked, dreadfully making one shiver.

He moved, blocking the corpse’s path, that is, Cangao Mingfeng’s.

No matter what was down there, he intuitively knew he could not let the other party succeed, this sinister ghost creature gave him an extremely dangerous, cold, and mad feeling.

If a ghost creature got hold of the ultimate Immortal Object, then who in the world could handle it?

With no restraint, only destruction, without any natural disasters, this walking corpse could slaughter the world!

"Die..." Cangao Mingfeng uttered a muffled sound, a ghost shadow flashed in his eyes, and his right hand reached out towards Zhou Heng.

Without a Domain, it was a direct strike!

The speed was incredibly fast!

Zhou Heng’s right hand shook, and the Black Sword appeared, employing the Feiyu Seven Swords technique.
