Chapter 148: Chapter 143 Yue Family’s Seventh Young Master (2/3)
Zhou Heng had left the mystical world and returned to the Imperial Capital, where he found a new inn to settle in.
By now, that mysterious world had been named the Wind Howl Forest by the Wind Howl Sect, marking their ownership over it. As for the name itself, no one really cared; the important thing was being able to enter it.
Although there had been reserves of dry food and water in the Nine Mystic Trial Tower, Zhou Heng wasn’t left wanting for food. However, the first thing he decided to do after coming out was to have a good meal at a restaurant—cultivation was not meant for enduring hardships.
He headed to the Three Fragrance Building, a renowned place in the city, which had seen numerous martial artists heading to the Wind Howl Forest for great battles. This brought many kinds of demon beast meat to the restaurant, creating a slew of new dishes.
However, whether anyone dared to eat the demon beast meat that came out of there was another matter. But Zhou Heng didn’t order any; he just asked for some common stir-fries. While demon beast meat could enhance one’s cultivation level, not all were tasty.
Zhou Heng ordered some wine and savored it alone, at that moment, he missed the liveliness of having Lin Fuxiang and An Yumei by his side.
Before long, the sound of boisterous laughter arose. Zhou Heng’s gaze swept over the stairway, where he saw a group of four people coming up from downstairs. Leading them was a handsome young man in a green shirt, at the Peak of the Third Layer Heaven of the Initial Separation Realm, followed closely by none other than Liu Yue!
After Zhou Heng had broken his limbs, it had only been a month, yet he could already walk freely.
Behind Liu Yue were two other young men, both at the Initial Separation Realm, but clearly lacking confidence, merely watching Liu Yue and the young man in green having a lively conversation.
Unintentionally, Liu Yue’s gaze swept over Zhou Heng. The man stopped short, his pupils dilated showing a mix of shock, fear, and hatred.
"Liu Yue, what’s wrong?" the young man in green shirt asked, noticing him lagging behind.
"Nothing, Just saw someone I know," Liu Yue said with a chilling smile. Then he slapped the young man on the back and chose a table to sit at. Both of them frequently glanced over at Zhou Heng, though it was unclear what Liu Yue was telling his companion.
Zhou Heng, unfazed by their behavior, didn’t pay these men, who thrived on their elder’s influence, any mind.
After a while, the two nondescript young men from Liu Yue’s group suddenly stood and approached Zhou Heng’s table, one of them saying, "Zhou Heng, our young master wants to see you, get up!"
Zhou Heng, continuing with his meal, responded calmly, "I’m busy. Whoever wants to see me should come here themselves!"
"Kid, our young master is Young Master Yue Hu from the Yue Family of Bright Moon Country!" one of them said, stepping on Zhou Heng’s table, "The Yue Family, know them? They have an Old Ancestor in the Mountains and Rivers Realm; one who could suppress everyone in Cold Blue Country with a single finger!"
No wonder Liu Yue had suddenly grown so bold and dared to provoke him—there was an addition of this so-called Young Master Yue!
Zhou Heng glanced at the man’s foot and said sharply, "Put your dog foot down!"
"What?" the man’s eyes widened, "Did you just curse at me?"
"One!"
"Ha, are you threatening me?"
"Two!"
"You can count to a hundred, and it won’t matter!"
"Three!"
Zhou Heng’s gaze turned icy, and he threw a punch that landed on the man’s calf.
Given the circumstances, the man had no chance to resist or dodge, and instantly his calf was hit, twisting in an angle a normal person could not achieve, he screamed.
"You’re too loud; this is a restaurant, don’t ruin other people’s appetites!" Zhou Heng punched again, and the broken-legged man was thrown into the air, crashing against the table where Liu Yue sat.
"Bastard!" Another young man, livid, drew his long sword and slashed at Zhou Heng.
"Scram!" Zhou Heng’s fist turned golden, and with a punch, the young man’s sword snapped in two. His punch, not losing momentum, bore into the young man’s chest.
With a thud, that man was also sent flying and crashed into his previously injured companion.
"Ah—" the broken-legged man screamed again as the collision drove the bone shards deeper into his flesh.
From the first man flying up to the second falling, it all happened in a matter of seconds, and only then did the other diners react, stopping their meals and turning to look.
The room fell silent.
Not many knew who Yue Hu was, but many recognized Liu Yue, a person not to be trifled with. Yet, against all odds, someone dared to provoke him. It was exceedingly bold!
"That’s Zhou Heng!"
"Is that the man who beat Jing Tian?"
"Exactly, and now he’s the most famous among the younger generation!"
"But he’s nothing compared to Liu Yue!"
The diners erupted into a buzz of conversation. Zhou Heng’s earlier fights against Liu Qingxuan and Nangong Changkong had been kept under wraps, and although the news had leaked in small circles, most people were still in the dark.
Clap, Clap, Clap!
The young man known as Young Master Qi Yue Hu suddenly clapped his hands together, his eyes fixed on Zhou Heng as he smiled and said, "Kid, you’ve got guts. I like that about you!" He walked over to Zhou Heng. "From now on, you follow me!"
He looked at Zhou Heng arrogantly, as if it were the most natural thing to do.
Zhou Heng burst into laughter. "Are you worthy?" he said.
"If I’m not qualified, who is?" Yue Hu maintained his proud demeanor.
Zhou Heng didn’t want to bother with this idiot and just continued eating and drinking on his own.
"What a gutsy move!" Yue Hu’s expression suddenly turned stern. "You hit my man and think there’ll be no price to pay?"
Zhou Heng sighed. Why did people always assume the world should revolve around them and make themselves so punchable? He looked up and said, "Scram!"
"Haha, Liu Yue, you were right, this kid is indeed arrogant!" Yue Hu put a foot on Zhou Heng’s table and turned back to laugh with Liu Yue.
"Young Master, be careful!" Liu Yue suddenly exclaimed.
Bang!
Before Yue Hu could react, he was hit in the chest with a punch, sending him flying and then crashing down heavily, ending up in a heap with the two men from earlier.
"Ah—" the man with the broken leg screamed again.
"You’ve got some nerve!" Yue Hu wasn’t seriously hurt and sprang up immediately, surprising Zhou Heng a little as, by his estimation, that punch should have laid his adversary out for several days.
Zhou Heng flashed a smile. "Don’t mess with me!" he said.
Yue Hu stared at Zhou Heng, a cold smile appearing on his lips. "It’s too late, you’ve already angered me, and you will regret this!" He crushed a jade token.
Calling for help?
Zhou Heng remained seated, unafraid with Swift Cloud Radiant Step and Nine Mystic Trial Tower; he feared neither Land Cleaving Realm nor Open Heaven Realm. As for Mountains and Rivers Realm, it was still uncertain since the difference in their powers was enormous, and he might be subdued before realizing it!
Since the strongest in Yue Family was merely at Mountains and Rivers Realm, Yue Hu surely had no authority to command such an expert.
Just a few breaths later, a black-clad man about forty years old appeared inside the building with a cold face. He bowed to Yue Hu and said, "I’ve seen Young Master!"
"Uncle Peng, kill him for me!" Yue Hu pointed at Zhou Heng, his face filled with killing intent.
The black-clad man served the Yue Family to gain their guidance in the Martial Path, a strategy common among all major families in Bright Moon Country. Although Yue Hu was a young master, his realm was lower than that of the man, so his tone was naturally constrained.
"Yes!" the man responded and then turned, his eyes like two sharp swords set on Zhou Heng. "Just kill yourself, and I can leave you a whole corpse!" he said coolly.
No one thought his words were inappropriate. A small difference in Realm meant a crushing advantage, let alone a big one!
Although Zhou Heng had An Luochen from the Open Heaven Realm behind him, Yue Hu had the massive backing of the Yue Family, and a Mountains and Rivers Realm expert could suppress An Luochen with a flick of a finger!
Therefore, Yue Hu had no hesitations whatsoever.
Zhou Heng didn’t look at the black-clad man but fixed his gaze on Yue Hu, his eyes burning with anger and the intent to kill.
Did he really think that coming from Bright Moon Country, he could do whatever he wanted, playing god over life and death?
Zhou Heng showed a dangerous smile and turned to the black-clad man, "You’d better keep a close watch on your master; otherwise... this world is quite dangerous, and it’s easy for people to end up dead!"
People gasped. Such bravery, threatening a Land Cleaving expert! But then again, since the other party intended to kill him, why should he remain silent and submissive?
"Ignorant boy!" The black-clad man huffed coldly and struck out his palm towards Zhou Heng.
Zhou Heng dodged, not engaging with the black-clad man, but instead darted towards Yue Hu—the culprit must be captured first. Killing the black-clad man was pointless; he was just a dog.
"How dare you!" The black-clad man shouted angrily, twisting his body and reaching out to grab Zhou Heng.
"Really think I fear you?" Zhou Heng snorted, not even turning his head but simply swung out his left hand, sending an eight-colored lotus swiftly flying at the black-clad man, while his right hand continued to aim for Yue Hu’s head.
Bang! Bang!
Successive dull thumps were heard as the black-clad man’s punch hit the eight-colored lotus, and the terrifying force exploded him outwards. Meanwhile, Zhou Heng’s fist had nearly simultaneously struck Yue Hu’s head, but a burst of white light formed a shield that incredibly blocked Zhou Heng’s punch, bouncing him back.
All these events occurred in the blink of an eye; everyone only saw Zhou Heng and the black-clad man flying out without understanding what had happened. And at that moment, the entire building abruptly collapsed!
The clash of Land Cleaving forces without any Formation to protect the building meant it was instantly destroyed just by a touch of the residual force!
Fortunately, everyone in the building was a Martial Artist and naturally wouldn’t be harmed by broken beams and debris as they leaped from the ruins, still bewildered.
As the dust settled, Zhou Heng stood proudly while the black-clad man positioned himself protectively in front of Yue Hu, the latter shielded by the white light and completely unharmed.
