Chapter 45: Chapter 45

"One point to the left team!"

"One point to the left team!"

"One point to the left team!"

The craziness in the pool astonished Madeline..

Zane and Jasmin were like two pro volleyball athletes destroying the game entirely. She couldn’t even see the ball’s projection when Jasmin or Zane smashed it.

The poor opposing team was at their mercy because they couldn’t even score once, and Elly’s face got hit at least three times in a row.

"ACK!"

’Well, four times now,’ Madeline counted as she saw the poor girl’s face was very red. Madeline laughed freely as she saw the pitiful state of Elly and Bertha, who couldn’t do anything.

Ethan and Frankie were also frustrated because no matter what they did, they would always fail to stop the ball from Jasmin or Zane.

Everyone’s eyes darted at Madeline, who was laughing as if their misfortune was funny entertainment.

Elly, who had been angry the whole time, finally exploded and climbed out of the pool. She stomped her way to Madeline, who was still chilling under the umbrella, and said, "Why are you laughing, you parasitic bitch? Do you think it’s funny?!"

"Yes," Madeline said as she finished her Pina colada and leaned on the lounge. "Your face got smashed four times in a row by that volleyball. Of course, I will laugh. It’s fucking hilarious."

"You!" Elly finally found a place to release her pent-up frustration. She raised her hand, ready to slap the bitch out of this shameless woman.

But before she could do that, someone grabbed her wrist from behind and clenched it until Elly grimaced in pain. "Ouch! Aw! Awww! Stop, it hurts!"

Elly turned around and saw Zane come to the rescue. She was on the verge of breaking down after so many things that went wrong today, but seeing how Zane actively tried to get close to Madeline just because she was beautiful was the nail in the coffin for her.

Elly began to cry and yell, "You’re so stupid, Zane Eastwood! You have so many women lining up for you, and you decide to end up with this snake? Oh my fucking god, you’re fucking blind!"

Zane wasn’t affected by her words. He checked on Madeline, who simply ignored them and enjoyed the ocean view.

Zane smiled, seeing how unbothered Madeline was. His eyes contained a lot of warmth, but all of that warmth disappeared instantly when he shifted his gaze back at Elly, who was struggling to break free.

"Let me go! Let me go, I’m telling you! I will fucking scratch this bitch’s face, so you will see how ugly she really is!"

"I won’t let that happen," Zane said. He glanced at the production team, who didn’t do anything other than make sure the camera recorded everything. Just as he expected, this reality show had no boundaries as long as it would generate clicks.

Thus, what Zane did was pull Elly back to the pool and push her to the opposite team.

"The game is not over yet, right, Jasmin?" Zane asked.

"Right. We haven’t crushed you completely." Jasmin glanced at the scoreboard and said, "Five more smashes to the face, and we’re done."

The opposite team was scared when Jasmin boldly claimed she aimed for their faces.

The host, Tia, didn’t seem to be bothered by the fight just now, but she was happy about it because it would generate a lot of viewers since the first episode.

Jasmin took a breath as she got herself ready for a serve. She threw the ball up and smashed it with all her strength.

The ball launched at such a high speed, but not as hard and fast as Zane’s.

So Frankie was able to intercept it and yell, "ETHAN!"

"Yes!"

Ethan smashed the ball to the other side, and he aimed at Russel, who had been doing nothing the whole time.

Russel had never played volleyball before, so he just watched as the ball flew toward him.

But before it hit his face, Jasmin quickly blocked it and passed it to Zane.

"Zane!"

"Got it!" Zane smashed the ball, and again, none of the opposite team members could intercept his smash.

Russel was still petrified by what had just happened. That ball was only three inches away from hitting his face, but Jasmin blocked it for him.

"H—Hey, thanks for that," Russel said. "You saved me."

Jasmin looked over her shoulder and gave Russel a side-glare. "Keep yourself together! I know you can’t play this sport, but at least try not to be a burden!"

Russel was taken aback by Jasmin’s scolding. Yet, before they could have a small chat, Jasmin immersed herself in the competition again, giving smash after smash to Zane.

Jasmin looked so fierce, yet beautiful at the same time, and Russel was awed.

"One point to the left team, and game set!" Tia blew the whistle to end the game. The right team was tragic because all of them were bruised after getting smashed right in the face with a volleyball.

Meanwhile, Zane and Jasmin were unscathed. They didn’t even look tired.

"Well, do I really need to announce the victor? It’s already obvious that the left team crushed the match with a solid, perfect score. 15-0!" Tia announced. "Ethan, Frankie, Bertha, and Elly have been eliminated!"

"Fuck!" Frankie cursed. "How did this happen!?"

Bertha and Elly said nothing, as they had enough of this stupid game. They climbed out of the infinity pool, followed by Frankie and Ethan, who were still cursing at the result of the match.

They sat on the chair near the bar, drying their hair and getting medical treatment because Elly got hurt after getting a ball smashed into her face four times in a row.

"Alright, we’re going to do a 2 versus 2 match between Team Jasmin and Russel versus Team Madeline and Zane!" Tia turned her head to ask Madeline, who was still lazing around. "Are you going to help, Madeline? Zane will have to fight them all by himself!"
