She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 140
Chapter 140: Chapter 140
"Madeline, don’t do this to me," Lance finally pleaded. "I feel guilty enough as it is."
"That’s cute," Madeline giggled. "If you feel guilty about me, you should compensate me instead. Much better than having these non-stop arguments between us, right?"
"Is there no way for me to convince you to just take the offer and leave my company?" Lance tried his last shot, though he knew it was in vain.
He didn’t want Madeline to go through this painful road they were about to walk on together.
"Nope, compensate me instead," Madeline replied.
Lance took a deep breath. "Then, what compensation do you want? I will give you anything."
"Anything? Are you sure?" Madeline asked.
"Yes, anything." Lance nodded seriously. He wouldn’t mind giving Madeline half of the company if she wanted that.
"Oh, you will regret that, Mr. Grant." Madeline giggled mischievously. "Well, for starters, I don’t need more of your money. I’m quite comfortable right now. So what do you think is better than money?"
"Uh..." Lance was thinking hard. Madeline was right. She deserved more than just money. So he guessed blindly, "A mansion? Oh, I can also give you half of the company if you want."
"Moreover, I don’t need your assets."
"...I honestly have nothing else to offer," Lance said honestly. "Other than money and assets, I have nothing else but my body."
"Exactly. I want your body," Madeline stated boldly. "Specifically your heart, Mr. Grant. I want you to love me genuinely, not just as a contractual girlfriend. I think I deserve that compensation for this hard work I’m going to do, right?"
Lance was speechless.
His face heated up, and his brain turned into mush.
This woman, Madeline Rose, really knew how to snare a man into her hand, and Lance had fallen into her trap.
"Speechless, I see, hihi~."
Beep.
—
Madeline ended the call abruptly, which helped Lance regain some of his reasons.
Yet, his face heated up even more than before, and his heartbeat accelerated to the point that he could even hear his own heartbeat.
"Fuck..." Lance knew that he was doomed. "You got me, Maddy. I can’t leave now."
Lance leaned on the sofa, looking up at the ceiling, and scoffed, "Well, I guess Dad’s right. There will be a woman who makes me want to do crazy things just to make her happy."
Thus, after agreeing with Madeline, Lance decided to call Valerie.
—
"So, did she say yes?" Valerie asked as soon as their call was connected.
"No," Lance replied.
"No? Then what would you do next?" Valerie asked. "Or maybe you plan to force her to do it? It’s for her safety too, right?"
"She asked me what would happen when she left the company," Lance said. "And when she knew that I would lose my position as CEO, she insisted on staying."
"Oh well, that’s very nice of her," Valerie chuckled. "She’s very willful and stubborn, but with those traits, she made Summer Heat Lovers a huge success."
"Yes, and I’ve decided to finally step my game up," Lance said. "Since she wants to help me, then I will make sure to completely wipe out Theodore’s presence in Empress Entertainment."
"Oh? So you’re really taking it up a notch, huh?" Valerie grinned. "It’s very unlikely for you to go against your big brother so boldly. What changes?"
"I fell in love," Lance replied concisely.
"Real one? You change girlfriends every so often. I don’t know if you can still feel real love," Valerie sneered.
Lance scoffed. "I thought the same. But I truly fell in love with her—the type of love that makes you want to settle down and start a family."
"Ohh, that’s pretty serious, Lance," Valerie said. "Well, I’m always here if you need any help. I can’t do much against your big brother, though."
"Don’t worry about it, Val. I’ll plan everything meticulously," Lance assured. "I can’t let her down."
Beep.
—
Lance ended the call, and a genuine smile gradually bloomed on his lips, making him grin like a teenage boy who had just experienced his first love.
"Settling down, huh?" Lance curled his lips as he didn’t want to grin like an idiot. He never believed that he could settle down with a woman before.
Of all his brothers, Lance stood out as the wildest. Even his father noticed his promiscuous ’adventure’, who told him Lance would eventually find the right woman who would change him for the better, the woman who would encourage him to settle down.
Lance began imagining what kind of family he would have with Madeline.
Could it be that he’d get so whipped by her to the point that he’d start acting like his father?
"Hmm, no, definitely not," Lance muttered. "I will never be like Dad. He’s too whipped to mom. It’s almost comical."
Again, Lance’s face heated up, thinking about Madeline. He sighed, knowing that he probably wouldn’t get any sleep tonight.
"Alright, time to get to work."

Zane stared at the text that he sent to Madeline.
There were two blue checklists on it, meaning that Madeline read all of his texts, but she ignored them all, not even replying once for the whole night.
He tried calling her at least ten times in a row, but she ignored them all.
"Why are you doing this to me, Maddy?" Zane lamented. "I just want to help. I can’t let you make the same mistake by ending up with the wrong man again."
"I should’ve been the one dating you from years ago." Zane also blamed himself because the only reason he didn’t try to date Madeline back then was because he was very shy around Madeline.
Now that he finally had the chance to be with the woman he had been in love with for more than a decade, he refused to be separated from Madeline for too long, fearing that she would end up hooking up with that bastard again.
"If she refuses to pick up my call or answer my text, then I just have to meet her in person, right?"
Zane smirked, as he had just got a brilliant idea. "You cannot ignore your boyfriend forever, Maddy."
