Chapter 66: Kiss One
Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Kiss One
Bodyguard suddenly emerged from the shadows, startling Su Wanxin into a shiver.
She clutched the little thing in her arms, examining the burly bodyguards, trying to recall their faces from her memory.
It was them last time at the Fu Group’s building entrance, right?
"Hey." Su Wanxin looked down at Yangyang. "Are they your followers?"
"Yes." Yangyang nodded reluctantly in acknowledgment.
"Alright then."
With a confirmed answer, Su Wanxin readily handed him over.
Yangyang, bewildered, found himself in the Bodyguard’s arms, froze for a few seconds, and then struggled desperately.
"I want a hug, I want your hug!"
"But I still have things to do, I really can’t play with you."
Su Wanxin shook her head and refused; seeing this, Yangyang looked at her with a pitiful expression. "Then, can I have a kiss before you go?"
"Okay."
Su Wanxin smiled and leaned forward to kiss his tender cheek. Yangyang watched her intently, his face instantly turning red, his eyes wide open without uttering a word, and he forgot to stop her from leaving...
Finally reaching her room, Su Wanxin organized the clothes she brought with her. Then she picked up the schedule on the nightstand.
It must be said, as the host, the Fu Group had arranged the procedures and details quite thoroughly.
Su Wanxin went out to the meeting room mentioned in the schedule. As she pushed the door open, everyone inside chatting immediately quieted down and turned their gazes towards her.
She swept her eyes across the room, taking in the various expressions on everyone’s faces, smiled faintly, and walked in.
"You’re finally back." Her colleague Su Yan, excited to see her, stood up. "Where have you been these last days?"
"Got sick, was hospitalized, look."
Su Wanxin raised her hands, showing the bruised needle marks on the backs of both hands. Combined with her somewhat sickly complexion, it made people believe her.
"Brother Sanhuo, how does it feel to face the opponent alone?" Su Wanxin smiled, sitting next to Su Yan. Other companies had partners, but their Fu Group was represented solely by Su Yan.
Su Yan gave a wry smile, there were some things inconvenient to say here, but Su Wanxin understood it all.
During her absence, all kinds of remarks circulated within the circle. Pleasant or not, the people of Su’s Fund had heard them all. Besides the Su Family, no one else here today would hope for her to show up on time.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if she really got scared and ran away?
"How’s your health?" Su Yan observed her condition, asking softly.
"Not bad," Su Wanxin laughed, "Even if it’s not great, I have to be here. So many big shots are waiting for me; I can’t let them wait in vain."
Her words were true; she was representing the Su Family today. If she didn’t appear today, for a long time in the future, the Su Family would become a joke within the industry.
And this was a situation that she, as the CEO of the Su Family, would never allow.
Everyone continued chatting until the clock pointed toward four in the afternoon, and the door of the meeting room was pushed open again.
Su Wanxin turned her head and looked, her eyes darkening.
Fu Shihan had arrived.
He was followed by some other people, all leaders of securities companies participating in today’s competition. Although it was outwardly a recreational contest and everyone appeared to be playing cheerfully, the atmosphere made it clear everyone was serious and aimed to compete for standing within the circle.
Fu Shihan’s gaze briefly swept over Su Wanxin’s figure, without lingering. He quickly outlined the rules for the next few days, and then left.
