Chapter 64: Chapter 64: The Cunning Fox

Fu Shihan left helplessly and returned to his car, contemplating the words Mu Suyu had just said.

He knew Zhan Che had a private hospital in the suburbs, but he had already sent people to check, and Su Wanxin was not there.

With no other options, Fu Shihan could only wait patiently. But what he didn’t expect was that this wait would last over a week.

During these days when Su Wanxin disappeared, plenty of rumors about her sprang up. Some people were concerned about her whereabouts, while others mocked and ridiculed her, suspecting she had fled.

After all, the highly professional competition disguised as an entertainment event in the circle was about to start. Su Wanxin, who usually hid behind the computer exchanging her looks for insider information that brought high returns, would not be able to do so in a completely isolated environment.

On Sunday, 3 PM, Su Wanxin was dropped off at Junyang Hotel by Zhan Che.

This hotel, a seven-star establishment under the Fu Group, was also the venue for the competition hosted by major brokerage firms in the Imperial Capital.

"You must rest before nine o’clock." Zhan Che looked at Su Wanxin, who was preparing to get out of the car, and instructed discontentedly, "Three meals a day are a must, and if I hear you’ve been drinking again, I might as well finish you off with a wine bottle!"

"Ouch, so fierce."

Su Wanxin suddenly remembered Sheng Qian’s "skewer the sky" skill, and on a whim, she mimicked it. Her imitation made Zhan Che’s face turn green, and he was rendered speechless, only able to watch her leave.

Su Wanxin smiled and waved at him as she stepped through the hotel’s main entrance. The competition would officially start tomorrow morning at nine, and all the contestants were gathering this afternoon.

At the reception, she presented her ID, collected her room card smoothly, and headed toward the elevator.

21st floor, lobby.

Yangyang sat obediently in a corner, his little soccer ball beneath him, staring unwaveringly in the direction of the elevators, patiently waiting for the person he was waiting for.

Dad said Mom would be here today, but why hasn’t she arrived yet...

Down the corridor, several men walked out of a room, whispering amongst themselves.

"Do you think that Su Wanxin from Su’s Fund will show up today?"

"Hell no, didn’t you hear she’s been missing for over ten days? It’s total chaos at Su’s side; they’ve offended Alex, not something easy to fix."

"Did she really run away? I heard Alex invested tens of millions, wouldn’t that money be wasted?"

"Not necessarily, Su’s still has many veterans present, but a triple-digit return rate is out of the question."

"Su Wanxin really is a troublesome vixen, stirring things up to amuse herself and then running away without even saying goodbye."

"Troublesome vixen, haha, yeah, you say... holy shit!"

The man was interrupted mid-sentence by a heavy kick from a soccer ball to his leg.

He frowned and looked forward, spotting a child in a white short-sleeve shirt and denim overalls standing there; the ball was kicked by him.

Yangyang pursed his lips as he looked at them, running up to them, "Uncle, I’m sorry, my name is Yangyang, what are your names?"

"Why are you asking this?"

"You all seem very impressive, can’t you tell me your names?" Yangyang asked eagerly, "I have a school assignment to write about impressive people, and I want to write about you!"

The little guy earnestly apologized, and naturally, the adults had no reason to pursue the matter further. Moreover, the child was good-looking and spoke politely, making him impossible to dislike. So, they laughed, shared their names, patted Yangyang on the head, and entered the elevator to leave.
