Chapter 238: Did She Have Lunch with That Man?
Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Did She Have Lunch with That Man?
Fu Shihan looked at Su Wanxin with a cold expression, digesting the words she had just spoken.
He was unsure whether her sudden proposal to move out was due to meeting Li Mo at noon or for other reasons, but regardless of the reason, he couldn’t let her have her way.
"Regarding our family’s relationship, are you implying that you’re not part of the Fu Family?"
Su Wanxin heard his displeased questioning and laughed. "Isn’t that obvious?"
In the past, it was one thing, but now that both Li Mo and Fu Hongru have said they don’t know her and clearly do not want to associate with her, she couldn’t possibly shamelessly cling to them.
Su Wanxin glanced at the time, feeling a bit tired, and leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes.
"Let’s go home, I’m sleepy."
She had no intention of continuing the conversation with Fu Shihan, feeling groggy and like she could fall asleep at any moment.
When Fu Shihan drove home, Su Wanxin had indeed fallen asleep.
It was less than a ten-minute drive, yet she slept so deeply that even when Fu Shihan woke her, she was somewhat dazed.
Her fluctuating health only worsened her mood.
She followed Fu Shihan upstairs with her head down, ate dinner passively, played with Yangyang for a while, and then went straight to her room to rest.
Fu Shihan was in the study, having figured out what she had mentioned earlier in the car, that everyone now knew what had happened to her.
The worries he had three years ago still ended up happening three years later.
After hearing the report from his subordinate, Fu Shihan sat silently for a while before going to look for Su Wanxin. Upon learning that she had already gone back to bed, he couldn’t help but frown.
He walked slowly back to the bedroom, where the person on the bed had already entered dreamland.
Fu Shihan sat by the bed, staring at her and holding her cold hand, wondering whether her sleeping was truly out of fatigue or a form of escape from him.
He was agitated and upset because of her issues, yet she was sleeping comfortably.
Thinking about this made Fu Shihan feel uncomfortable.
Just as he was hesitating whether or not to wake her up for a deep conversation, Su Wanxin’s phone on the bedside table lit up.
Fu Shihan glanced at it subconsciously, then saw the message on the screen.
[Mu Xinghan: The Tom Yum Soup at the restaurant we went to at noon was good. Go again tomorrow?]
Fu Shihan slowly shifted his gaze, let go of Su Wanxin’s hand, his eyes devoid of warmth.
She had lunch with that man?
Fu Shihan stood up, picked up Su Wanxin’s phone, and walked out of the room. The next second after he closed the door, he unlocked the phone and called Mu Xinghan’s number directly.
The call was quickly connected, and Mu Xinghan’s annoying voice came through the earpiece.
"Why call instead of just replying to the message? Want to have a small chat?"
"I’m Fu Shihan."
"...Heh." Mu Xinghan sneered, lazily sitting in the corner of the sofa. "What do you want?"
"That’s what I should be asking you. What do you want with her?"
"Mr. Fu, I think you might be confused about your own status."
Mu Xinghan’s voice carried a mocking laugh, provoking.
"What right do you have to meddle in our affairs? Don’t tell me you still think Su Wanxin is your little girlfriend? Didn’t your family explicitly say they don’t recognize her? So, are you the only one who still recognizes her?"
Although Fu Shihan hadn’t witnessed what happened at noon, from Mu Xinghan’s words, he still guessed some of it.
Mu Xinghan had been holding a grudge against their Fu Family. Thus, he must take advantage of this rare opportunity to talk, and vent as much as he could.
