Chapter 226: Chapter 226: Had a car accident before, was in a coma for a year and a half.
A meal, Su Wanxin ate distractedly, tasteless.
Fortunately, she disguised it well. Whenever the topic turned to her, she could always join the conversation smoothly, without letting anyone notice anything unusual.
Over two hours later, the meal ended, and the discussion was almost complete.
Bai Ran Group’s Zhang Hanyu agreed to send the company’s relevant documents to the Su Family next week, marking the deal as officially signed.
Su Wanxin returned to the company with Chen Lei, busy for a few hours. As it was almost time to leave, she received a message from Fu Shihan.
He said he was already outside the company and asked her to come out now.
Su Wanxin furrowed her brows and sighed.
She turned off her computer, picked up her purse and phone, and after exchanging a questioning look with Su Yan, she smiled slightly.
"I have an urgent matter, I’ll leave first."
"Ah, be careful on the road."
Su Wanxin quickly left the company and walked towards a luxury car parked by the roadside.
Opening the car door, she assumed Fu Shihan was picking her up after work, but unexpectedly, he started the car and drove in the completely opposite direction to home.
"Where are you taking me?"
Su Wanxin suddenly became nervous, unsure if he planned to take her to meet the Fu Family.
Fu Shihan glanced at her and softly replied, "Taking you to get a check-up, you were coughing badly at noon."
"...I don’t have a cold."
Su Wanxin soon understood his implication; he thought she was infected by him last night. But that wasn’t the case.
"No cold?" Fu Shihan raised an eyebrow, "Then why were you coughing? Afraid you’re too inconspicuous for us to notice you?"
"No," Su Wanxin lowered her head, her mind flashing back to the gaze Fu Hongru had given her at noon. She inadvertently became distracted and accidentally blurted out the truth. "It was out of fright."
Having said this, she realized something was amiss, but it was too late to argue.
Fu Shihan turned his head to look at her cowardly manner, chuckled, and teased, "That’s rare."
Seeing her feeble demeanor was indeed a rare occurrence. He had thought she was fearless nowadays, but it turns out there were still people she feared.
Su Wanxin pursed her lips and looked out the window, remaining silent. It wasn’t until Fu Shihan brought her to a private hospital that she reluctantly followed him inside.
The few doctors he had brought in from around the world at great expense were all still there. Upon seeing her, their eyes lit up as if they had encountered a novel species, making Su Wanxin feel extremely uncomfortable.
She underwent a few routine checks, then as usual, was questioned by the doctors.
"Miss Su, since when has your health been like this?"
The doctor looked at the report, frowning deeply.
"Were you injured before?"
Su Wanxin slightly turned her head to glance at Fu Shihan. Knowing she couldn’t hide it, she responded in a low voice.
"I had a car accident before, was in a coma for a year and a half, and have been like this since I woke up."
Zhan Che wasn’t here; if he were, she would have liked to stuff the report into his mouth as a punishment for his and Fu Shihan’s reckless talk.
"Usually, there is no major issue with my body, only that the indicators during physical exams are different from ordinary people. I’ve seen many doctors, but no one has been able to determine the reason."
The doctors looked at each other and then back at her frail body, not feeling like she was someone without any major issues normally.
After a few more questions, Su Wanxin answered truthfully, then was taken out of the hospital by Fu Shihan with a cold expression. The two returned home in silence.
