The temperature inside the room was gradually rising.

Su Wanxin felt that the man before her was like a beast starved for too long, wanting to devour her whole and gnaw her clean.

"Fu Shihan."

Su Wanxin grabbed his hand, and said the words that she had wanted to say before but couldn’t because he had sealed her mouth.

"No, I’m not feeling well."

"I know." Fu Shihan kissed her lips, coaxing. "I’ll be gentle, just once."

"It’s not that... I, I’m on my period."

After Su Wanxin finished speaking, she felt Fu Shihan’s body stiffen for a moment.

He got up in annoyance, and looking at the earnest-faced Su Wanxin beneath him, he couldn’t help but lose his temper.

Knowing her place, Su Wanxin scooted to the edge of the bed, keeping her distance from him. Facing Fu Shihan’s angry gaze, she innocently explained: "Don’t blame me, you were the one who initiated it."

"I initiated it?" Fu Shihan had a bellyful of fire with nowhere to vent. "I came back at 3:30 am drunk, and just when I was about to fall asleep, you woke me up with a kiss, and now you’re turning it around and accusing me of starting it?"

Feeling guilty, Su Wanxin tugged at the blanket on her, not daring to say anything more, and silently closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

Seeing her admit it by staying silent, Fu Shihan became even angrier. Staring at her tempting, ruddy lips, he asked coldly: "Do you want me to feed you something nice before you sleep?"

"No, thank you."

Su Wanxin turned over, facing away from him, refusing to help him out with her mouth.

Fu Shihan sighed heavily and went into the bathroom. It was a long time before he returned with a cold air around him, completely without a trace of sleepiness.

Su Wanxin was tightly curled up at the edge of the bed, in constant danger of falling off. Fu Shihan watched her frail back for a while, then pulled her arm and dragged her into his arms.

"Don’t move." His voice still carried anger as he sternly warned: "If you seduce me again, I’ll open the door and throw you out!"

It was impossible for her to move; Su Wanxin was even careful with her breathing. Until sleepiness overwhelmed her again and she fell into a deep sleep.

Fu Shihan was furious, still without the slightest urge to sleep. Watching the person in his arms asleep, seeing her unconsciously snuggle closer in his embrace to find a more comfortable position, just like before, the anger in his heart gradually dissipated quite a bit.

In the morning, Su Wanxin was woken by the alarm clock; Fu Shihan was already downstairs.

Thinking about some of the things that had happened last night, Su Wanxin was confused for a moment, wondering if it was just a hallucination caused by taking too many sleeping pills. Once she confirmed that she indeed had upset Fu Shihan badly, she got up slowly to wash up and hesitantly went downstairs.

Only Fu Shihan and Yangyang were in the dining room; Mu Suyu appeared not to have woken up yet.

Su Wanxin braved the awkwardness to join them for breakfast, and then they left the house together.

The place was indeed very close to Su Wanxin’s office, so close that it would only take about ten minutes to get there on foot.

Su Wanxin walked all the way to the office, sat down, and turned on her computer. Su Yan came over and asked in a low voice, "Everything was okay yesterday, right?"

"It was fine."

"What did Shen Wenguang want with you?"

"I don’t know, we didn’t talk much before Fu Shihan came over, and then I got kicked out." Su Wanxin answered with a smile, "And then, I had the audacity to skip work and go home to sleep."

Su Yan seemed contemplative as he nodded, then returned to his own desk, muttering softly: "Why has God Fu been coming to our company more often lately? He used to not even come once a year."
