Chapter 552: Chapter 345: Parting Ways (Five in One)_4

Although the officers who sought their services were all high-ranking, it was rare to see someone as generous with payment as Su Ming. Many negotiated payment in installments, and some even defaulted on the final sum.

"Okay, Master Acala, may I ask you something?"

Su Ming asked politely.

"Of course."

"I’d like to have Wind Moving transferred and taken aboard Emperor. What should I do?"

"That’s a bit troublesome. You can apply through your wristband. As for whether it gets approved, that depends on whether Major General Vickers approves and on the berth situation of Emperor. I don’t have any special way to help you."

Master Acala explained to Su Ming.

"I understand, thank you."

"However, I must remind you not to get your hopes up too high. The likelihood of approval is very slim. After all, a fourth-grade battleship takes up a lot of space, and with this hasty evacuation, there are many applicants."

"Hmm, I’ll give it a try."

After hearing Master Acala’s explanation, Su Ming raised his wristband and entered the application information for transferring Wind Moving with an attitude of giving it a try.

To his surprise, a notification popped up only three seconds after he sent the information.

"Respected Major Su Ming, your request to transfer Wind Moving has been accepted and approved."

"Master approved it!"

Su Ming was a bit surprised to see the message and quickly thanked Master Acala.

"What? How is that possible?"

Master Acala was stunned.

"It really got approved. Master Acala, do you handle ship transfers? Could you help me transfer the ship over?"

Su Ming asked with a smile.

Taking a deep breath, Acala replied to Su Ming,

"No problem!"

...

Soon the twelve-hour transfer window ended, and all the Mecha units of the thirteenth squad entered Emperor.

Inside Emperor’s central control room.

Vickers sat in the commander’s chair, and Lieutenant Zhou Yuelin reported respectfully.

"General, all personnel have assembled."

"Good, establish a link with Starshine Fortress’s central control room."

Vickers immediately issued the order.

"Yes!"

Lieutenant Zhou Yuelin promptly executed the command.

In no time, the communication was connected, and Admiral Ferion’s image appeared on the operations screen.

"Reporting to the commanding officer, we are ready to set sail and request departure!"

Vickers reported gravely.

"Very well, permission granted. I wish you a good journey!"

Admiral Ferion responded with a nod.

"Thank you, commanding officer. Emperor setting sail!"

Vickers issued the order with an authoritative tone.

With the command issued, the entire Emperor disengaged its docking mechanisms, activated its anti-gravity devices, and began heading toward the exit of the dock.

After Emperor left Starshine Fortress, the fourth-grade battleships Chameleon Tiger and Wind Moving flew below the mother ship, and Emperor took the two ships aboard.

...

On Emperor’s large observation deck.

Su Ming and others stood on the observation deck, quietly watching the outside scene.

The moment Emperor passed through Starshine Fortress, everyone was stunned by the scene before them.

They saw Starshine Fortress floating in space, surrounded by countless Mechanical Octopuses that formed a camouflaging barrier, enveloping the massive fortress.

"Wow, squad leader, what kind of technology is this? It looks so awesome!"

Rhein exclaimed with astonishment.

"I’m not sure either."

Su Ming shook his head.

That’s when Timi came over and explained to Su Ming,

"This is mechanical camouflage. It’s a capability the Mechanical Clan takes pride in. During our lengthy conflicts with them, we’ve been tricked by such technology more than once! This must be the latest countermeasure developed by Xi Guang Laboratory."

"I see."

Su Ming nodded in realization.

Suddenly Rhein and the others exclaimed,

"Look, lots of Mechanical Octopuses are flying towards us." freewebnøvel.coɱ

Su Ming and Timi looked up upon hearing this.

They saw swarms of Mechanical Octopuses emerging from Starshine Fortress and heading toward Emperor and the Twin Battleship. The octopuses attached to the hulls of the ships and activated their camouflage.

"Looks like the Legion Commander has prepared everything for us. With these Mechanical Octopuses, the ships won’t be so easily detected once they finish with the cooldown from superluminal flight."

Timi immediately recognized the use of the Mechanical Octopuses.

"Mm-hmm."

Su Ming nodded in agreement.

...

Inside Starshine Fortress’s central control room.

The purple-haired girl sat quietly in the commander’s chair, and the large operation screen displayed images of Emperor and other ships moving away from Starshine Fortress.

Once Emperor and Twin Battleship had departed, Admiral Ferion approached and said in a low voice,

"Legion Commander, they have departed."

"I know."

The purple-haired girl slowly lifted her head, her violet pupils flickered slightly as she responded calmly.

...

Aboard Emperor.

Su Ming and others, carrying their luggage, arrived at the living quarters.

A logistics young man in a Sergeant’s uniform spoke very rapidly to Su Ming and the others.

"Officers, this area’s rooms are all reserved for your team. You can arrange and use them as you see fit. Toothpaste, towels, and other living supplies can be taken from the storage room ahead; it’s not locked! I must go brief others, so I’ll leave you to it."

"Thank you! You go ahead."

After getting permission, the young man quickly trotted off.

"That guy speaks so fast; I couldn’t catch everything he said."

Rhein said, puzzled.

"What’s so strange about that? With so many people cramming onto Emperor, the logistics staff must be going crazy. There’s no time for a leisurely notification. Let’s just pick our rooms!"

Su Ming explained calmly.
