Chapter 421: Chapter 323: A Dilemma (Five in One)_6
Farren said angrily.
Upon hearing Farren’s words, Gakels immediately flew into a rage and cursed directly.
"You’re insane! You’re recalling the Immortal Legion, do you not care about Mist Star Sea anymore?"
"Mia isn’t leading a force out?"
"That’s heading to the Abyss of Descent!"
"Have her change course toward Mist Star Sea to replace the garrison! Just give me three months, I could wipe them all out!" Farren said fiercely.
"No, absolutely not! The forces of the Three Forbidden Zones are not to be touched. Our geographical location is already awkward as it is, with all the bases located in the central region. We need to face both the Imperial Army and Heavenly Revelation Divine Country, necessitating more than double the troops. If you recall even one force, they would dare raid our bases. If that happens, a millennium’s worth of effort could be destroyed in an instant, surely you’re not foolish enough not to understand that?" Gakels rebuked furiously.
"Fine, if you won’t let me recall the Immortal Legion, then send the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Legions stationed at Black Flame Star for support!"
"Have you lost your mind to hatred? Those three legions are primarily defensive; they need Black Flame Star’s defensive lines to perform optimally and aren’t good at offensive operations. Are you planning to send them to their deaths? And if anything happens to these three legions, who will defend Black Flame Star? The Imperial Army could just march right in!"
"Then send the Eighth and Ninth Legions stationed at Moon Star!" Farren persisted.
"No! What will happen to the Tidal Star Sea Neutral Zone if you move them?"
Alicia strongly opposed this, knowing it would be disastrous for her side if they were moved.
"Isn’t everything fine over there? Heavenly Revelation Divine Country hasn’t attacked."
"They haven’t attacked now, but what about after you move the troops?"
"What are you all actually afraid of?" Farren retorted irritably.
"Enough, stop arguing!" Gakels shouted angrily.
"Do you think I like arguing? This won’t work, that won’t work, then suggest a feasible plan for me! The troops are currently encircled in the Neutral Country, are we just going to stand by and watch?"
Farren responded fearlessly.
"Isn’t this discussing solutions?"
"Discussing solutions? We need troop support now, just tell me where else we have troops!"
"You...."
Gakels was momentarily at a loss for words. The Federation did have plenty of troops, but each force had its mission and responsibilities, making them impossible to move.
"Gakels, I’m tired of these useless days. If you can’t solve the problem, then please have the Council Chairman take care of it!" Farren laid his cards on the table with Gakels.
"Yes, let the Council Chairman preside!"
...
Several council members voiced their agreement.
Gakels’ face paled; he hadn’t expected matters to get dragged up to the Council Chairman, complicating things severely!
The Council Chairman was still in hibernation, and it was impossible to awake him. If anything went wrong, it would truly be disastrous.
Thinking this, Gakels flatly refused.
"No!"
"You say no, and that’s it? Today we must see the Council Chairman; it’s about time he showed up!"
Farren snapped back furiously.
"Yes, Lord Gakels!"
"Let the Council Chairman preside over the situation."
...
Many council members shouted in unison.
Gakels felt his heart sink, his expression becoming so sullen it could drip water, clearly losing control of the situation.
He took a deep breath and shouted at everyone.
"Quiet!"
The chaotic assembly hall gradually quieted down.
However, the expressions on everyone’s face were extremely dissatisfied as they coldly looked towards Vice Chairman Gakels.
Seeing everyone’s expressions, Gakels knew he wouldn’t be able to dismiss the matter. If he couldn’t provide a satisfactory explanation, it could very well lead to major chaos.
Thinking this, Gakels clenched his teeth and spoke.
"Let us adjourn temporarily; I will consult the Council Chairman and we shall reconvene when I have an answer!"
"Good! We will wait for you!"
Seeing Gakels finally relenting and agreeing to consult the Council Chairman, Farren and the others didn’t push too hard.
Their main goal was not to trouble Gakels, but to have the Council Chairman preside over the situation.
"Meeting adjourned!"
With a wave of his hand, Gakels ended the meeting.

Federation Government Administrative Building · Sublevel 108
A special elevator rapidly descended.
Thump~
Accompanied by a slight tremor, the elevator reached the bottom floor, and the closed doors opened.
A cold, elongated metallic corridor came into view.
Every fifty meters along the corridor was a silver metallic gate.
In front of each gate stood two soldiers wearing black Third Generation Exoskeleton Armor.
Gakels walked out of the elevator with his hands behind his back.
The soldiers guarding the gates bowed and saluted Gakels, and the gates slowly rose.
Gakels walked unhindered into the interior.
Eventually, Gakels reached a closed black metallic door.
Just as he was about to touch the door, the ground beside him suddenly split open, and a platform slowly rose.
A girl wearing a silver metallic mask and with purple hair stood on the platform.
Gakels was startled and quickly stepped forward to ask.
"Council Chairman, have you awakened?"
"No."
The girl sighed and shook her head.
"Why is this happening? The waking day has already passed, why hasn’t he awakened?"
"I don’t know!"
"This is really a problem."
"What happened?"
"Sigh! The situation has spiraled out of control. Farren, that reckless man, was defeated, and our troops are now encircled by the Imperial Army. People are demanding to see the Council Chairman to take charge, and they can’t be suppressed!"
Gakels spoke anxiously.
The girl listened silently for a few seconds before responding to Gakels.
"You go back first. I will give you an answer in three days."
Gakels heard the girl’s words, wanted to say something but swallowed his words, and finally said.
"Okay, then I am depending on you; I’m leaving!"
"Take care!"
The girl softly replied.
