Chapter 414: Chapter 322: Direct Confrontation (Five in One) _6

"The exam is already over, but don’t leave yet—everyone stay in the exam room and wait for the results to be announced. For those who need to use the restroom, there’s one out the back door."

"Okay!"

Everyone responded in unison.

Zhou Shao and a few others promptly took the papers and left.

At that moment, the numerous students present began to talk among themselves.

"This assessment was so hard, I wonder if I can even pass."

"Damn it, my eyes were spinning from looking at the questions, what kind of options were those? They all seemed correct."

"I felt the same, it was really a headache to write!"

...

At this time, Li Yan approached Su Ming and asked.

"Bro, how did you do?"

"Not bad."

Su Ming replied with satisfaction.

"You look so young, which school are you from?"

Li Yan asked curiously.

"I’m a student at Imperial Court Academy."

"Uh, so you’re a student from Imperial Court Academy!"

Li Yan suddenly felt a bit awkward.

"Yeah!"

"No wonder you’re so confident, an exam like this shouldn’t be a problem for a top talent like you."

"It was still somewhat challenging."

Su Ming smiled back.

The paper looked fairly simple, but the questions had a lot of hidden traps.

You could easily reveal your true conceptions if you weren’t careful.

...

More than two hours later,

Zhou Shao and Qin Yan walked back in.

The noisy exam room instantly quieted down, and everyone looked nervously at Zhou Shao.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the papers have been graded. I’m about to project the results. Scores above sixty pass the assessment; below sixty is a fail!"

After finishing his announcement, Zhou Shao switched on the projection equipment and displayed the scores.

Su Ming quickly scanned them and saw his own score.

100 points, pass!

Su Ming was very pleased with the result.

At this moment, the whole exam room erupted into cheer.

"I passed!"

"Damn it, I finally passed the written exam."

...

With a glance, Su Ming noticed that everyone in the room had passed. But the large number of scores exactly at sixty made him feel something was off.

"Ah, I’m so tired; time to go home and rest."

Some students stood up, stretched lazily, and prepared to leave.

Just then, a surprised voice rang out.

"Look, that guy who scored a hundred is Su Ming!"

"Holy crap, that guy came to take the exam too!"

"Where?"

...

All at once, the multitude of students in the room turned their heads to look at others.

Su Ming’s mouth twitched slightly, and then he rose, ready to leave.

At this moment, Zhou Shao saw Su Ming and a few students ready to leave and cleared his throat before speaking.

"Hold on, you can’t leave yet."

"Huh?"

The crowd asked, puzzled.

"The interview process is about to start, everyone back to your seats. Come out when your name is called!"

Zhou Shao said very seriously.

Hearing this, the people began to whisper among themselves.

"What’s going on, aren’t interviews usually three days later?"

"Yeah!"

...

"Quiet!"

Zhou Shao spoke with a stern voice.

Upon hearing Zhou Shao’s command, the several officers in the room stopped their chatter, and silence fell over the exam room.

"The first one up for the interview, Su Ming!"

Upon hearing his name, Su Ming walked toward Zhou Shao with a resigned expression.

"That’s Su Ming!"

"I didn’t notice him at all before!"

...

Everyone’s gaze focused on Su Ming.

Li Yan was particularly dumbstruck, wearing a befuddled expression.

"Please follow me!"

Zhou Shao politely said to Su Ming.

"Sure!"

Su Ming then followed Zhou Shao out of the exam room.

Zhou Shao led Su Ming deeper inside, pushing open a closed door to enter a long, dimly lit metal corridor.

The corridor was very quiet, without a sound to be heard.

Minutes later, Zhou Shao led Su Ming through the corridor to the entrance of a special, sealed room.

"Commissioner Su Ming, please!"

"Thank you."

Su Ming stepped into the sealed room.

It was very dark inside, almost impossible to see anything, let alone determine how big the room was.

The only thing visible was a chair in the center area.

Su Ming walked to the chair and sat down.

Then, the door to the sealed room closed, and all light disappeared.

Su Ming suddenly felt enveloped by darkness.

However, Su Ming remained calm and seated, without any panic or unease.

Time trickled by.

In the blink of an eye, three hours had passed.

Su Ming was still sitting in the chair, a hint of surprise in his eyes. He had sat there for a full three hours without anyone coming in or any noise.

Yet, this meant little to Su Ming; he remained steadily seated.

Just then, a row of spotlights suddenly lit up overhead.

Su Ming immediately felt blinded by the intense light, which created a circle around him.

Even so, he still could not see clearly around him in the pervading darkness, but those in the dark could see him very clearly.

Most importantly, Su Ming keenly heard rustling sounds—it seemed the official interview was about to start.

Indeed, the following second, a steady voice sounded.

"Good evening, Mr. Su Ming!"

"Good evening, distinguished interview officials!"

Su Ming replied calmly.

"Your interview is about to begin. We expect you to answer our questions seriously, as they are relevant to the final review decision."

"May I ask, esteemed interview officials, may I speak freely when answering your questions?"

The interview officials were slightly taken aback by the question, and they turned their heads to look at a young woman nearby. She wore a deep blue dress sprinkled with stars, had her light violet hair tied up, adorned with an exquisite gold phoenix hairpin, and her face was covered by a silver metal mask.
