Chapter 406: Chapter 321: Triumphant Return (Five-in-One)_4

His mission had gone so smoothly, thanks in large part to Senior Moter’s help with the ship maintenance; otherwise, it would have been a huge hassle.

"Su Ming, congratulations on completing the mission and your advancement in studies!"

Senior Moter replied politely.

"Thank you!"

"By the way, what did you want to see me about?"

"Well, I’d like for you to help me maintain and repair my Mecha!"

Su Ming said directly, without any pretense.

"This one?"

"Yes!"

"This Mecha looks pretty good too, a high-end custom design. Judging by the damage, I suppose you destroyed it?"

"Yes, a trophy! I was thinking of getting it fixed to use as a backup."

"Sure!"

"Could you check it and give me an estimate?"

"Give me a moment!"

Moter immediately stepped forward to inspect the damage to the Mecha.

Su Ming waited quietly on the spot.

Around an hour later, after inspecting the entire Mecha, Moter spoke.

"The other parts of this Mecha aren’t too severely damaged, but the cockpit has been blown apart!"

"Right!"

"You’ve been a customer for some time, so how about I charge you 200 million Federation Coins?"

"Okay, and what about the Gun Knight and Slaughterer?"

"The Gun Knight doesn’t have much damage, just routine maintenance. As for the Slaughterer, I need to have a look; even regular maintenance on this Mecha isn’t cheap."

"Alright then, I appreciate it!"

"Uh-huh!"

Moter then systematically checked the Slaughterer’s condition and afterward hopped down to say,

"The damage isn’t too severe, the biggest wound is right here in the chest, plus the routine refueling of the nuclear rods, and so forth."

"Uh-huh!"

"I’ll give you an overall quote."

"Okay!"

"200 million Federation Coin for fixing the Red Slaughter Mecha, 20 million for Slaughterer maintenance, 3 million for Gun Knight—total quote would be 223 million Federation Coins!"

"Alright, please take care of it, and I’ll transfer the money to you."

Hearing Moter’s quote, Su Ming felt a bit taken aback. Mecha maintenance really wasn’t cheap. And the better the Mecha, the more expensive the upkeep, with the Slaughterer’s maintenance costing more than six times that of the Gun Knight.

"Hold on a moment!"

Moter suddenly spoke up.

"Is there a problem, Senior?"

Su Ming looked at Moter, puzzled.

Moter looked at the boxes stacked inside the hangar, glancing at the Fluorescent Ore peeking out, and suggested,

"Junior Su Ming, if I’m not mistaken, those boxes contain Fluorescent Ore, right?"

"Yes!"

"Junior, could you sell me that batch of ore?"

Moter’s eyes suddenly lit up as he eagerly asked.

"That..."

Hearing Moter’s request, Su Ming was quite surprised. He had originally planned to sell this batch to Dr. Kairo since he was a researcher in this field, and the price he could offer might be higher.

"Don’t worry, I’ll give you a fair price."

Moter assured Su Ming hastily.

"Okay, I trust you; have a look at the ore and give me a price."

Trusting Senior Moter’s character, Su Ming agreed; after all, whoever he sold it to made no difference.

"No problem, just give me a moment!"

Senior Moter stepped forward, opened each sealed box, and examined the quantity and quality of the ore therein.

Su Ming waited patiently, curious about how much this ore would bring in.

About forty minutes later,

Having examined everything, Moter approached Su Ming and said,

"I’ll offer 1.5 billion Federation Coins for this batch of ore, and you can ask around for the price. If there’s a better offer, feel free to come to me!"

"No need, I trust you."

Su Ming was quite satisfied with Moter’s offer.

"Alright, I’ll have someone pick them up. As for the payment, after deducting for repairs and maintenance, I’ll transfer you the balance later."

"No problem."

"Then it’s settled, I’ll go get ready."

Moter himself didn’t have that much cash on hand; he needed some time to prepare.

"Okay!"

Su Ming responded with a smile.

...

In the evening, Su Ming visited the Morris Interstellar Bank alone.

As he entered the bank’s main hall, he bumped right into Manager Tang Ying.

Tang Ying greeted him very warmly.

"Mr. Su Ming, long time no see!"

"You still remember me."

Su Ming was mildly surprised, not expecting her to have such a good memory.

"You’re a valued customer, how could I possibly forget? What business would you like to conduct today?"

Tang Ying replied with a beaming smile.

"Open a safety deposit box!"

Su Ming took out the key left to him by Teacher Mia.

Seeing the key, Tang Ying’s smile grew even brighter, and she said obligingly,

"Please follow me."

"Okay"

Su Ming then followed Tang Ying further inside.

Soon Tang Ying took Su Ming up to the 7th floor by elevator, through a series of security gates and identity checks, into a special room.

Inside the room was a row of safety deposit boxes, each with different codes.

"Safety deposit box LS501, that’s the one your key corresponds to. Would you like me to step out?"

Tang Ying asked respectfully.

"Yes!"

Su Ming nodded slightly.

"Then I’ll wait for you outside!"

Tang Ying promptly withdrew and stood by the door to wait.

Su Ming inserted the key into the safety deposit box, turned it lightly, and it opened.

Inside, there were two items: a glass vial containing Eternal Metal and a black card.

Su Ming was slightly taken aback; he hadn’t expected Mia to leave him the Eternal Metal.

This substance was something money couldn’t buy, it was something the Federation Government had been buying back at high prices.

Su Ming let out a breath, took the glass vial with the Eternal Metal, pocketed it, and then picked up the black card and walked straight out.
