Chapter 378: Chapter 317: New Grudges and Old Hatred (Five-in-One)
Danube Star Sea·Kamorden Base City.
At dusk.
Su Ming drove the supercar away from the abandoned factory, traveling on the spacious road.
That’s when he saw two figures crouched by the roadside, holding suitcases and wearing trench coats.
Su Ming immediately braked to a halt, then reversed to where the two figures stood.
These two were none other than Zhang Yi and Ankaga, who called out cheerfully.
"Squad leader!"
"Get in!"
Su Ming gave them a look and said.
"There’s only one seat, how are we supposed to sit?"
Zhang Yi and Ankaga looked at the passenger seat, asking with troubled expressions.
"You can’t just sit in each other’s laps?"
Su Ming replied irritably.
"That’s true! Ankaga, you sit below. But, don’t poke me, alright!"
Zhang Yi thought for a moment and then said to Ankaga.
Just then, Su Ming’s face suddenly darkened as he said.
"Are you getting in or not? If not, I’m leaving."
"Ha ha, right away."
Zhang Yi and Ankaga quickly got into the sports car.
"Wow, this is a nice car! But seriously, squad leader, how did you end up out here alone? Don’t tell me you were dumped by the wealthy lady."
Zhang Yi asked with a chuckle.
"Yeah, this car wouldn’t happen to be your breakup fee, would it?"
Ankaga joined in, teasing.
"Can you two talk properly? Believe it or not, I’ll throw you out on the roadside."
Su Ming replied with a headache. freёwebnoѵel.com
"Cough cough, just joking. But, squad leader, were you really kicked out?"
"Yep, ran into some trouble at a critical moment. But the trip was quite fruitful, at least the situation is clear! The ones who acted are almost certainly from the Ghost Shadow Sect, and I’ve also figured out something else, the Awahog Kingdom isn’t involved, which means we won’t be hunted down by the whole nation’s forces when we truly make our move."
"Does that mean we can make our move now?"
Ankaga probed.
"How should we act? There are still several issues unclear."
"What issues?"
"First of all, who exactly is behind the Ghost Shadow Sect, if it’s the City Lord, then we should be prepared to be swarmed by the entire city’s forces. If it’s the Imperial Army, then it’s even trickier! And there’s an even more critical problem, where our people are detained and where the stolen goods are hidden."
Su Ming laid out the problems directly.
"What should we do?"
Zhang Yi asked, somewhat troubled.
"Let me think, I was planning to infiltrate the Dark Dragon Association to gather information on the Ghost Shadow Sect. Then, with the help of the Dark Dragon Association, take down the Ghost Shadow Sect, but this attack has thrown a wrench in the plans."
Su Ming said with a furrowed brow.
"Ah!"
Zhang Yi and Ankaga exclaimed in regret.
At that moment, Su Ming suddenly slammed on the brakes so hard that Zhang Yi and Ankaga, squeezed in the passenger seat, crashed against the windshield.
"Jeez, squad leader, what are you doing? There’s no need to take revenge on us like this, right?"
Zhang Yi said while holding his nose.
"Stop talking nonsense, we’re in trouble!"
Su Ming sharply turned the steering wheel, making a U-turn against the traffic!
"What’s happening?"
Zhang Yi and Ankaga asked, bewildered.
"People from the Ghost Shadow Sect, why would they attack the abandoned factory in broad daylight, just to vent by killing a few people?"
Su Ming said to Zhang Yi and Ankaga.
"Wait, could they have deliberately attacked the abandoned factory to lure that wealthy lady back?"
Zhang Yi suddenly realized and said.
"Exactly, very likely it’s the case. Do you have weapons?"
Su Ming asked Zhang Yi and Ankaga.
"We do, standard weapons, even a disassembled sniper rifle."
Ankaga told Su Ming.
"Good."
Su Ming opened the car control screen, zoomed in on the area map, and quickly locked onto a tall building.
This building was 2.6 kilometers away from the abandoned factory in a straight line.
He drove towards that building.
Soon, the three of them arrived at the location, a more than one-hundred-meter-tall office building.
Su Ming parked the car and led Ankaga and the other man around to the back door.
The three slipped quietly into the office building and, instead of taking the elevator, they took the emergency stairs to the rooftop.
Ankaga immediately opened the suitcase and began assembling the sniper rifle.
Su Ming said to Zhang Yi.
"Give me the binoculars!"
"Alright!"
Zhang Yi took out a telescopic monocular and handed it to Su Ming.
Su Ming took the binoculars and observed the area around the abandoned factory from afar. However, because the sky was gradually darkening, he could not see very clearly.
He switched on the night vision on the binoculars to scout the area and quickly detected something fishy.
He saw many figures moving to encircle the abandoned factory. At the same time, the lookouts nearby the abandoned factory were stealthily taken out by the enemy. Furthermore, Su Ming spotted several large, special box-type transport trucks.
These vehicles were usually used for transporting special large equipment, and transporting regular Mechas was no issue at all. Clearly, the enemy was targeting the abandoned factory in order to completely dismantle it.
Upon realizing this, Su Ming moved the binoculars to look toward the abandoned factory but didn’t see Monica and Amte or anyone else.
They were probably inside the warehouse, tending to their wounded comrades, utterly unaware of the impending danger.
Thinking of this, Su Ming narrowed his eyes and said.
"Ankaga, give me the sniper rifle!"
"Sure, squad leader. This sniper rifle is called the Silent Messenger, it’s very quiet when fired, but incredibly powerful. It might even penetrate the Second Generation Exoskeleton Armor; it’s the coming-of-age gift my grandfather gave me."
Ankaga handed the assembled sniper rifle to Su Ming.
"Not bad!"
Su Ming took the sniper rifle, looked it over, and praised.
