Chapter 376: Chapter 316: For the Emperor (Five in One)_5

"Miss, the universe is vast and boundless, I believe there definitely is something out there."

Su Ming said calmly.

"Okay, once I’ve flattened the Ghost Shadow Sect, I must make that dream come true."

Monica said, revealing a slight smile.

Just then, Monica’s phone suddenly vibrated. She took it out and answered the call.

"Perry, what’s the matter?"

"What are you saying?"

"Wait for me, I’ll be right there!"

...

Monica’s expression changed drastically after a few brief words with Perry, and she hung up the phone hastily.

Su Ming saw this and immediately felt that something was amiss; something must have happened, so he asked.

"What’s happened?"

"Don’t ask, just hurry back to the abandoned factory."

Monica said, rushing towards the spiral staircase.

Su Ming quickly followed behind her.

Not long after, Su Ming drove Monica at breakneck speed toward the abandoned factory.

"Faster!"

Monica urged anxiously.

"Okay!"

Su Ming immediately sped up, overtaking the other vehicles on the road.

Half an hour later, Su Ming returned to the abandoned factory in his sports car.

Su Ming slammed on the brakes and swerved the steering wheel sharply, bringing the sports car to a sideways stop.

Monica and Su Ming got out of the car, and the scene before them made their hearts sink to the bottom.

The entire abandoned factory was riddled with signs of gunfire, and bodies lay on the ground—some from the Dark Dragon Association and others from the Ghost Shadow Sect. The scene was extremely gruesome!

"Miss!"

Perry, Amte, Piers, and others quickly gathered around.

"What exactly happened?"

Monica asked furiously.

"Miss, shortly after you left, we were ambushed by the Ghost Shadow Sect. Many of our brothers were killed."

Perry explained with teary eyes.

"Damn it!"

Monica clenched her left fist, her knuckles cracking.

At this moment, Piers suddenly raised his gun and pointed it directly at Su Ming.

Su Ming was taken aback, and so were Amte and the others.

"Piers, what are you doing?"

Monica asked angrily.

"Miss, our base has always been very secure. And we all here know each other well. But ever since you brought this guy here, some unfamiliar faces have started to appear nearby. He’s definitely a mole; it was him who betrayed us and caused the deaths of so many of our brothers!"

Piers accused angrily.

"It makes sense; trouble started only after he arrived."

"He’s the mole!"

"Piers is right; it must have been him who betrayed us; otherwise, they couldn’t have ambushed us!"

...

Many of those present began to raise their guns towards Su Ming.

"Put down your guns!"

Monica yelled angrily when she saw the guns pointed at Su Ming.

"Miss, he saved you only to infiltrate our ranks and exterminate the Dark Dragon Association completely. You can’t let him deceive you."

Piers said through gritted teeth.

"I’ll say it again, put the guns down!"

Monica commanded unequivocally.

"Didn’t you hear her? Miss said to put them down!"

Amte and Perry shouted at the brothers nearby.

Blinded by hatred, the crowd slowly lowered their weapons.

Seeing everyone put down their guns, Piers reluctantly dropped his, although he was extremely unwilling to do so.

Su Ming looked at the group lowering their guns without much anger. Their reaction was quite normal; after all, if a group was doing well and suddenly a newcomer joined and then problems arose, regardless of evidence, the newcomer was likely the problem. In fact, they weren’t entirely wrong—he indeed had a problem, just not a hostile one.

However, given how things had escalated, Su Ming didn’t want to make things difficult for Monica. After all, she had been quite good to him, so he volunteered to say,

"Miss, since everyone doesn’t trust me, I’ll leave."

Just as Monica was about to speak to keep Su Ming, Piers, Amte, and the others all looked up at her.

Monica halted what she was about to say, finding herself in a tough decision.

She was very certain Su Ming was not a traitor and didn’t believe he was that kind of person. She prided herself on being a good judge of character.

But now the seed of suspicion had been planted, and all her brothers and sisters didn’t trust him. If she insisted on keeping him, it would hurt everyone.

With that in mind, Monica took a deep breath and said,

"You can go."

"Alright, here are your keys."

Su Ming tossed the car keys to Monica and then turned to leave.

But before Su Ming had taken a few steps, Monica suddenly called out,

"Wait."

Su Ming turned his head, puzzled, as Monica tossed the keys back to him and said,

"The car is yours; take it and go."

"Okay!"

Su Ming caught the keys and with a brief nod, replied.

Monica stood silently in place, watching as Su Ming got in the car and drove away.

A concealed secret base.

Inside a special experiment laboratory.

Accompanied by a massive explosion, the sturdy metal door was blasted open.

"Ah!"

Several scientists in white lab coats looked toward the blown-open metal door, panic-stricken.

Numerous soldiers, clad in Second Generation Heavy Exoskeleton Armor and bearing the insignia of the Third Blood-colored Fang Army on their chests, burst in, pointing their dark gun barrels at them.

"Ha ha!"

With a boisterous laugh, a noble young man with golden hair, a prominent nose, and fair skin, wearing Third Generation Exoskeleton Armor·Flame, walked in.
