Chapter 322: Chapter 307: Face to Face (Five in One)_6

Boom!

The light beam from the Twin Lions struck the energy barrier of the Blood Shadow, but the Blood Shadow evaded with significant moves, dodging some of the attacks. Thus, despite its energy barrier quivering perilously, it didn’t shatter.

As for the energy barrier of the Twin Lions, it was hit squarely and engulfed by a tremendous explosion, disintegrating instantly.

Su Ming couldn’t help but shake his head. The performance of the ships was nearly identical, but the gap in the commanders’ combat experience was glaring.

The commander of the Blood Shadow made large evasive movements during the attack.

Such maneuvers could better avoid fatal strikes, but they also reduced the hit rate. If not executed well, attacks could easily miss their mark.

This tactic was very risky, demanding a great deal from the commander. In contrast, the Twin Lions seemed quite mediocre.

At this moment, the displayed image began to move, shifting the view to the central battlefield area.

"Wow! Look, two Fourth Generation Mechas are clashing!"

A student exclaimed excitedly.

In the central expanse of starry space, two streaks of light chased and collided with each other at high speed.

The capturing image kept zooming in.

Suddenly, the combatants became visible: one was a Fourth Generation Mecha·Shadow Slayer with black stars painted on it, clashing with another Mecha standing thirty meters tall, covered in red armor, with a particle light cannon embedded in its shoulder and wielding a crimson spear, its back fitted with two pairs of red mechanical wings.

"Fourth Generation Mecha·Blood Falcon, with two black stars and a red star on its chest. If I’m not mistaken, that must be the vanguard leader of the Third Legion, Grellan."

Mia recognized the identity of the opponent at a glance.

At that moment, Grellan controlled the Blood Falcon Mecha, charging swiftly once again, thrusting his piercing spear towards General Luweis.

General Luweis managed to barely dodge with a last-moment maneuver, his Mecha’s surface armor receiving a fresh scratch. Enraged, he swung his particle light sword at Grellan.

Grellan deftly retreated, evading the blow.

General Luweis then controlled his Mecha to rush forward, clashing once again with Grellan’s Mecha, entangling in a fierce struggle.

Mia watched the scene with furrowed brows.

She continually glanced at the images of other chaotic battles in the starry space.

Although it was hard to see the specific details of the fight due to the distance, one thing was clear.

The Imperial Army and the United Army were locked in a stalemate.

The screen froze again.

Seeing the image lag, Su Ming immediately went back to eating his boxed meal.

"Ah, these Neutral Country fighters really are terrible."

"I feel like they’re on the same level as Abayk’s rebel forces."

"That’s not right—some are even worse than those rebels. I reckon if those rebels joined the fight, they could be considered elite."

"I thought the Imperial Army was going to be wrapped up like dumplings, doomed for sure, but the battle’s messy as all hell."

"Well, no matter how poorly they fight, at least there’s a fight happening."

...

Zhang Yi and others discussed as they ate.

Hearing Zhang Yi and the others talk, Su Ming caught a glimpse of Mia’s expression, which seemed off, and asked out of curiosity.

"Teacher, what’s wrong?"

"Nothing, I just feel that something’s not quite right."

Mia said with a slight frown.

"What’s not right? Isn’t this the level we expect from the United Army? It shouldn’t be a problem."

Su Ming asked, puzzled.

"I’m talking about the Imperial Army’s level being off."

Mia’s expression became more solemn.

Hearing the exchange between Su Ming and Mia, Rhein and the others chimed in.

"Teacher, are they too strong? One against several."

"No, it’s that they’re too weak, and their level is off."

Mia said emphatically.

"What? How could this level be wrong? How strong do they need to be, Teacher? Could you be mistaken?"

Rhein and the others asked, somewhat flabbergasted.

"How could I be mistaken? This is the third ace army. If this is the strength of the Imperial Army, I’d immediately suggest the Federation go out there and wipe them out!"

Mia replied irritably.

"I also feel that something’s not right. Never mind the rest, just take that fortress, for instance! I don’t know if it’s because they’ve consumed too much energy activating the Curvature Mechanical Circle, leading to a reduced combat capability or something else. Though that fortress has fierce firepower, pressing the United Army to the brink, it still feels like something’s missing."

Su Ming also voiced his intuition that something was amiss.

"Not sure, but the combat strength is definitely off!"

Mia had been skeptical of the United Army from the beginning, but now the two sides seemed to be caught in an odd and awkward tussle.

"Could it be that there are too many Skull Army forces mixed in these troops, causing a severe drop in combat effectiveness?"

Rhein speculated.

"That’s unclear."

Mia replied with a tight frown.

"But Teacher, considering how the situation is unfolding, it doesn’t look like the United Army has a great chance of winning. Could they end up collapsing and scattering as they fight?"

Angel and others pondered and asked.

"Yes, if casualties reach a certain level, morale will plummet! Then, countries can easily waver. Once one country can’t hold out and withdraws its troops, it will cause a domino effect, with all national armies racing to flee. That’s one of the vulnerabilities of the United Army! When you’re involved in large-scale battles later, if you’re working with troops that aren’t directly controlled by the Federation, you need to be extra vigilant."

Mia seriously alerted Su Ming and the others.

"Can we rely on the Federation’s own Legion?"

Rhein and the others exchanged glances and asked.

"Don’t worry about that. Although there are disagreements and conflicts among the Federations’ direct legions, they at least won’t flee on their own. They’ll retreat together."

Mia explained to Su Ming and the others.
