Chapter 223: Chapter 223 Trap (Extra for Alliance Leader Wuxie without worries) (Fourth Update)
"Of course it’s real, but the price isn’t exactly cheap," asked Mia with a serious cough. "How much money do you still have on you?"
Su Ming checked his phone and then said to Teacher Mia,
"I still have 881,595,000 Federation credits."
"That little? But no worries," Mia said with a righteous tone, "I’ll help you negotiate the price. Your teacher is going all out!"
"Thank you, Teacher. When shall we go to talk about the mecha?"
Su Ming was also a bit impatient. After all, owning his own mecha was extremely important.
"Now, follow me!"
Mia promptly pulled Su Ming out of the school.
...
Several hours later, Mia drove a beat-up black car along the highway with Su Ming, moving towards the outskirts.
"Teacher, where are we going? It seems like we’re heading towards the suburbs?"
Su Ming looked at the increasingly desolate scenery and asked with puzzlement.
"You’ll know when we get there. Remember, that’s a restricted military area, so don’t speak carelessly."
Mia instructed Su Ming.
"Okay!"
Su Ming nodded in reply.
Soon, Su Ming saw a military checkpoint ahead, guarded by two Iron Head Mechas and a group of soldiers.
When the guards saw Mia’s car, they immediately opened the checkpoint.
A hint of surprise crossed Su Ming’s face. Was Mia taking him into the military base to purchase something? If so, it had to be good quality.
At that moment, Su Ming’s anticipation grew even more; he was curious about what kind of mecha it might be.
However, as soon as the car passed through the checkpoint and into the restricted zone, the scene before him dumbfounded Su Ming.
All around the area, there was an endless mess of damaged mechanical parts.
Su Ming’s mind went blank for a moment; he felt as if he had returned to his family’s junkyard.
Clang!
The small car jolted, and Su Ming quickly came back to his senses, his mouth twitching slightly as he cautiously asked,
"Teacher, are you sure it’s here?"
"Of course! Don’t talk; you’ll see in a moment."
Mia reassured him, continuing to drive forward until they reached a massive warehouse.
She parked the car at the entrance of the warehouse, where a short, thin, sober-faced, old man wearing a lieutenant’s military uniform came out.
"We’re here, get out!"
Mia said excitedly as she opened the door and stepped out.
Su Ming took a deep breath and opened the door to follow her.
"You’re here."
The raspy voice of the old man welcomed them.
"Char, where’s the mecha?"
Mia addressed the old man.
"Come with me!"
Char waved to both Su Ming and Mia, leading them into the warehouse.
Su Ming followed with a sliver of hope.
However, as soon as they entered the warehouse, he felt as if cold water had been poured over him; the vast warehouse was filled with piles of mechanical parts and circuit boards.
Su Ming couldn’t help but lower his voice and ask Mia,
"Teacher, you’re not joking, right? This is just an abandoned warehouse!"
"You don’t understand; this is where the good stuff is."
Mia said with conviction.
"Alright, alright."
Su Ming had no choice but to trust Mia; they had come all this way, after all.
They quickly walked to the interior of the warehouse, where they came face to face with a massive object covered in tarp.
Although the object’s form was obscured by the tarp, they could somewhat make out that it was likely a mecha beneath it.
"Watch closely!"
Char grabbed an electric switch and pressed it, causing a mechanical arm from the roof of the warehouse to seize the tarp and whisk it away.
A 17-meter-tall, very old black mecha was revealed to them.
The surface of the black mecha was pitted and peeling in places, with worn patches of paint. On its shoulder was mounted an indeterminate model of a black Beam Cannon, and at its waist hung two old beam saber handles.
The entire Mecha was covered in a thick layer of dust, looking very old and battered.
Su Ming stared at the Mecha, completely petrified. In that moment, he seriously doubted whether Mia was trying to scam him.
"How about it, not bad, right?"
Mia said, beaming with pride.
"Let me have a look."
Su Ming took a deep breath, suppressing the tumult in his heart, and cautiously examined the worn-out Mecha.
"Ah, what’s there to look at? Just listen to me! You definitely won’t regret buying it."
"No rush."
Su Ming walked around the Mecha, observing it meticulously.
Firstly, it was indeed a Third Generation Mecha; that much was correct. However, it was also a battle-damaged Third Generation Mecha.
But the specific configuration was not discernible, so he asked,
"Lord Char, what’s the configuration of this Mecha?"
"I don’t know!"
"The power device inside, the systems, the electronic equipment, do they still work?"
"I don’t know, I don’t know. If you want to buy, then buy; if not, leave!"
Char replied with evident impatience.
Su Ming wasn’t upset and continued to scrutinize the decrepit Mecha. Soon, he discovered the issue.
Although the Mecha’s surface was layered with dust, Su Ming managed to make out several Black Stars and Red Stars spray-painted on the front of the Mecha’s chest. But that wasn’t the most outrageous part; the Mecha also had a black moon spray-painted on it.
Su Ming’s eyelids twitched suddenly. This was a Mecha with a glorious military record, and it had even killed a fourth-type monster.
Su Ming immediately stopped hesitating and turned to Mia, saying,
"Buy!"
"That’s right, Char; we’ll take this Mecha."
"Twenty-five billion!"
Char blurted out his price.
"Are you robbing us? We’re so familiar, give us a discount,"
Mia fiercely retorted.
"Twenty billion."
Char replied with a grave tone.
"Five billion!"
"Not selling!"
"I’ll add a bit more, six billion!"
...
Su Ming stood quietly to the side, watching Mia and Char haggling intensely.
Approximately after fifteen minutes, Mia finally settled on a price with Char.
"881,592,000 Federation credits, not a penny more!"
"Ugh, sold it to you!"
Char said with a look of resentment.
"Su Ming, transfer the money!"
Mia excitedly shouted at Su Ming.
Hearing the negotiated price, Su Ming’s gaze toward Mia became somewhat unnatural.
After paying the sum, he would be left with just 3,000 Federation credits.
To claim there was no trickery involved, Su Ming would never believe it. He even had the illusion that Teacher Mia was especially skilled in conning him out of his money.
"What are you waiting for, hurry up and transfer the money!" fгeewebnovёl.com
Seeing Su Ming motionless, Mia quickly urged him.
"Alright!"
Su Ming promptly stepped forward and transferred the money to the old man.
Soon after the money was transferred to Char’s account, Char said in a solemn voice,
"To do a good deed thoroughly, tomorrow afternoon I’ll have someone drag this Mecha to your school; be sure to prepare the hangar in advance."
"Thank you."
Su Ming politely said to Char.
"Ahem, Su Ming, why don’t you go ahead and wait for me outside; I have some important matters to discuss with Lord Char."
Mia coughed and told Su Ming.
"Alright!"
Su Ming then walked outside.
