Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL) -
Chapter 74 - 72 | Start of a Relationship
Chapter 74: 72 | Start of a Relationship
There was one thing Winter and Blue had in common. And that was the fact they were both similarly stubborn and so could understand each other’s pride.
Though Winter liked to think he was smarter and more discreet in his actions, Blue was equally smart and could decrypt the things that Winter encrypted. The same notion worked the other way.
The two of them clearly understood the kind of situation they were in; but who would be the first to concede?
Certainly not Blue, judging by his response to Winter’s inquiry.
"Ask first and see what reply you’ll receive." Blue spoke with a slight frown on his face.
Winter looked at Blue with the question, ’really?’, stamped boldly across his forehead.
Blue responded with a look, concurring, ’really.’
"I... You do know the only thing I want from you, don’t you?" Winter asked Blue.
Blue had already seen past Winter’s tricks and ploys long ago. There was no need for him to sugarcoat his aim and actions anymore.
Winter was everything that Blue would condemn on a normal day. However, he was everything that Blue wanted and needed in his life right now.
"When are you going to stop wanting it?" Blue asked with a small voice. But he might as well have asked, ’When are you going to stop wanting me?’
It was such a deep question that revealed his vulnerability. Blue hated that he asked such a thing. But he actually needed to know. He needed to know his worth in a certain dumb Alpha’s eyes. The fucking irony.
"I don’t know. I can’t tell." Winter said with a casual tone, catching a strand of Blue’s hair and twirling it around his finger.
Winter’s response made Blue feel even more shitty for himself. Blue hated this. He hated every part of this. Every part of himself that did not hate Winter. It was so annoying!
"But as long as you keep being the way you are... I don’t think I’ll ever get bored." Winter suddenly added.
This wasn’t a lie or spewing of sweet words. Winter was absolutely being honest at this point.
What he liked in particular were fierce Omegas. The ones who still had a voice even after being wrapped around his finger. The ones who weren’t mindless. The ones who were ’unique’.
If it were to be anyone else that Winter had been chasing relentlessly, they would have gotten worn down by him a long time ago. Heck, he wouldn’t have had to put so much effort just to get them to spread their legs.
As for Blue... Even with his legs spread, he was still able to put up a fight with him and had a desire to come up on top (which he actually succeeded in doing).
That could be what made Winter like (love?) Blue so much.
Blue was Blue. Blue was not just an Omega.
Blue was himself first before his gender came. Blue was self-aware of this. And he made everyone else aware of it, too.
It explained why Winter would sometimes forget that Blue was an Omega until he saw him blush or wearing something cutesy.
Winter had always viewed Blue as a mountain that no one would conquer; an untamable beast. It was only after these things that Winter remembered that like every other person he’d hunted, Blue was as omega-ish as they were.
Blue could be said to be even more omega than they were (if such a thing was to be feasible).
Blue was insecure about his pheromones, insecure about his personality, his background, his past, his actions. Blue was afraid of his Omega personality.
Which was why he was so driven to remind himself and other people that he was a human first. And that his gender didn’t define him.
After spending such a long time in Blue’s company, Winter was perfectly able to define who Blue was and analyze the reason why he was the way he was.
In the exact way that Blue was able to analyze him and piece in chips of himself that he may not even be aware of.
So yes, Winter could say that as long as Blue was Blue, there was no getting tired of him. No getting bored of him. There would be nothing like lack of thrills or surprises as long as Blue remained Blue, with every part of him intact.
"So what now?" Blue asked again, finding it hard to make sense of the message Winter was trying to reveal to him.
Winter sighed, almost facepalming himself at Blue’s sudden slowness.
He let the strand of hair he had twirling go, then slipped his hand to the back of Blue’s neck to pull him closer; their faces right up against the other.
"You like me, don’t you?" Winter took the initiative.
Blue didn’t respond. But with the look in his eyes screaming, ’and so?’, Winter was able to move on.
"So do I. Would you like to extend our relationship into one where we can not only have sex any time we want to with each other but be exclusively bound to each other both in body and heart?" Winter asked.
His proposal was too wordy and poorly executed. But who could blame him? This was the first time that he was actually asking someone out to be his partner. It could’ve been worse.
Winter waited for Blue to respond. It was such a long wait that Winter was slightly frightened that he would end up being rejected.
However, Blue pretended to be composed as he said, "Whatever."
Winter frowned.
"Yes or no? I didn’t give you a half-assed proposal."
Blue rolled his eyes and finally said, "Ye—"
Blue hadn’t even accepted properly when Winter smashed his lips against his own, initiating the ’start of a relationship’ kiss.
Blue wasn’t in the mood to pretend as if he wasn’t worn down by the kiss. So he let his hand roam around Winter’s hair as he found a way to further deepen their kiss, sealing their newfound ’partnership’.
Author has something to say: Totally weird Chapter, I know. But what do you guys think about it??
